Cool contest and all, but has anyone found a full explaination of what comes in the pack? I find hints and suggestions and a pic or two, but no actually RED NAME lists. Anyways, throw me a link if you find it. Thanks.

Quote:I'm sorry DG, I see I didn't go far enough in my explaination. Probably cause I was half asleep at the time.Normal emails arent lost after 30 days though, so comparing that normal emails are saved even if your acount is inactive for a while (weeks for me at times) isnt a safe compsarion as the rules are different for email attached mails.
Send a ticket to support and ask is my suggestion.
Anyways, I also was doing the manual renewals way back when you lost your stuff on the market for leaving it there too long and even though my time lapsed several times, I never lost anything from the market (the first time was over 15 days).
Now I could easily be wrong, but with what has happened to me I feel comfortable in saying that loosing your stuff is time sensitive only and not active account sensitive.
The safest bet I would think though, would to be not using your e-mail as a safety deposit box, I know I won't. Just do your transfers and be done with it. No risk of losses that way. -
I thought everyone might want to know. I checked the GameStop website sunday morning and it is listing no release date for GR . . . BUT when I stopped by a store later in the day, I asked one of the clerks to look it up and he said September 1st was the release date for GR. He also was clueless about any special deal between GameStop and Paragon Studios for the pre-order (which was really annoying) and suggested I try to find it at the on-line store. Lastly, ABSOLUTELY NO ADVERTISING in the store for GR.
Now I know this is not exactly "Binding" information, but I now feel comfortable in believing that GR is not coming out in July, even more so since the veterans closed beta period just began this week.
As for the other things, I just found them irritating and was wondering if everyone else is seeing the same things?
BTW, if a RED NAME see's this, how about a big update as to what is going on? It really is time now. -
I have done the manual renewal a few times and my subscription lapsed by a few days each time. In each case I did not loose any e-mails I had saved. Not sure if the changes to the in-game e-mail will change this, but the history suggests it will not.

Quote:In my humble opinion that is an extraordinarily GOOD idea CatMan, but you will be amazed how many people with jump around like they are on fire complaining about this if it starts happening. I can hear the screams of "I've been ROBBED!" already.Suggestion if you retain this feature: in the event it expires, have it auto-sell for the base price and the sending character receive the influence. Certainly not a equal exchange, but some compensation as the Paragon Mail Delivery Service recoups on it's own costs.

Quote:I have to agree with NezuChiza completely here. They made a mistake in not telling everyone in advance - get over it. They did own up to it, but said that the system is working as intended, since that is how they designed it to work - deal with it. They even have told you how to get your stuff back since they made the mistake of not letting us know in the begining. As for the whole "extra slots" issue, that is just a pathetic attempt to keep arguing.First off, you're assuming quite a bit that the devs "dropped the ball" on anything other than failing to inform everyone of the 30 day limit. Players were trying to work the system, they got burned. The devs are replacing the stuff lost, and going forward players know about the limit and will, even though they'll continue to use email as extra slots, know to remove the emails before they vanish. They explained what happened, why it happened, and are restoring what was lost. To think they need to do more is rather outrageous.
Secondly, the devs don't need to give us all the information about the game, nor should anyone expect them to. It's amazing they give as much info as they do. To expect them to tell us everything is bordering on insanity.
And thirdly, complaining about not knowing how many slots GR gives you because they may "go away" in 30 days is a fallacy. One would not reasonably believe that enhancement, recipe, or character slots would go away after a period of time. So why bring up such an unlikely, even impossible example to try and support your paranoia? Keeping information about a new product secret is normal, especially for games.
Enough whining over this subject, it is simply a dead horse at this point and you are just making yourself look bad to keep ranting on. -

Worked for me when I logged in again. Thanks all! To be honest though, the number of players on-line seemed kinda low, so it may have come on-line just before I started playing (no idea when I logged in). Anyways, hope it is working for everyone now.
WOOT! Just noticed 1st post after a RED! -

Funny, I played my katana stalker earlier and while having ninja run on I did a strike while hidden. My toon stood up and drew the katana before returning to the ninja crouch and attacking. Now granted, I did not watch every time, but it seemed to work pretty good for me.

I have to admit, not getting told about this in advance is a little bit of a shock, thankfully I did not loose anything.
To be honest though, could you imagine how much it would clog up the servers if this stuff just sat there forever in limbo? Not to mention every once in a while the e-mail system goes down and I always loose at least one e-mail from it. Which is why I never leave anything in the in-game e-mail system any more.
We probably should have known this was coming though since they did the same thing for the Markets if I remember right.
Still, let us know in advance in the future for things like this please. -
Quote:I wouldn't have bothered explaining yourself Dechs Kaison, it's pretty obvious that someone was just trying to start a useless arguement for no other reason than to try to feel superior. Unfortunately some people seem to like doing that.Pretty sure I said I wouldn't ever turn someone away for the powers they've chosen.
My rule of "Any build, any budget, no exclusions" remains, but for one TF, I had to reserve four spots on the team for controllers/dominators. I didn't specify which kind, and I didn't even bother to specify that they had holds. -
I have to be honest, I hope that they do take a little longer to release GR than the previously mentioned July 2010. After Issue 17 it is probably a really good idea to make this as good as possible before release.
But I really wish people would stop the useless speculation on it. We can all whine and moan but as of yet, I have not seen an "Official" date/time frame change for the release of GR. Let's try just being patient and seeing what happens next month. -
I don't know how every state works, but in the ones I have lived in you can only get between 10% and 15% above the ticket price before you are breaking the law by scalping. It makes it fairly unworthwhile to scalp that way. Who knows though, different states, different laws.

Quote:I have to say, I agree with you on almost every point and support you most strenuously on the money front. Let's face it, this game gets expensive in the long run and deciding to wait for the complete collection to come out is just SMART. I wouldn't quit a team because of someone's AT, but that is just me and obviously you are welcome to do so if that is what you want. I just wish more people could look at the game this way, would be a lot more fun if they did. This is not clear on the website.
Procs are from IO sets. Once you slot an IO set Proc it works - never expires.
If what you are saying is true and these Procs expire at 21, that needs to be made clear ... it isn't clear.
I would have bought the Complete Collection regardless as it comes with a month's free play-time and the Super-booster, so you can say "cha-ching" now, I put down my loot on the pre-order.
I don't think it was a "slap in the face" of people that bought the pre-purchase and have access to Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning. They knew what they were doing when they bought it. They wanted to be L337 and on the cutting-edge - and they were at least one of the two.
If they feel bad about pulling their "guns" too soon, then I guess they should learn some patience and use it next time. Pokemon fever isn't going to get you good deals in the in-game markets either.
And to those that said people were cheap for wanting to wait to get the free month,
Bwaahahahaahah!
e/ plot
My master plan is working! And soon there will be new players in the City!
And, yeah, I'm still not teaming with anyone that has Dual Pistols or Demon Summoning on the live-servers until GR drops live. (If I'm lucky enough to test stuff, I'll check it out on the test server). You can thank the jerks that said people were cheap, etc. for not purchasing the pre-purchase vet-version.
And, yeah, I'm still teaming - often with full or nearly full teams. I've only had to quit three teams because a DP or DS showed up on the team and I had already told the leader that I would drop without a fuss if one joined. Otherwise, I think I've passed up less than 1/3 of the team invites because there was already a DP on the team (I mostly play heroes). And, of course, when I run a team, DPs and DSs aren't invited - and, just to make it fair, (especially since I usually run "no tanker/no scrapper" teams) I've been running "no blaster/no defender" teams instead. (sure I'll let a blaster or defender join if they send a tell or are a friend of someone on the team, but only if they aren't Dual Pistols).
I swore the oath.
I'll stand by it.
There are a lot of us that are still REALLY hurting because of the economic down turn. Anyone that mocks people because they are poor are jerks.
I'll stand by that as well.
I also stand by the fact that the more sales that go through stores will give stores more of an incentive to "face" product in their stores. I want to see a CoH presence in GameStops. One way to make sure is to purchase the game through a store and not a website. -
These winners definately deserved their awards. Good job to all and thank you for doing your part to improve the game! Personally I think you should get an extra month of free game time for it.
-
All in all, my mouth is watering for "Going Rogue" to come out. The more I see of it, the more excited I get.
-
Quote:Can it be done? Yes. Should it be done? Probably not. Personally I hope it does get pushed back to September or so. More time to trouble shoot that way. It's almost the end of May and they're in friends and fam. beta. They just under 2 months to meet the release date noted by Amazon. Can they do a closed and open beta in 2 months? I wasn't around for CoV so I have no idea. If an Issue can take over a month then how long will closed and open beta take on GR?!
-
Hmmm . . . seems I am in a minority here, because I bought the pre-purchase from NCSoft while planning to buy the Complete Collection all along in order to throw away my other versions of the game and "clean house a little".
So this whole move with GameStop and such doesn't bother me a bit. As a matter of fact, it seems smart on there part since they should be getting some extra "in store" advertising in the process.
And 5 free procs? Who cares if they don't seem all that powerful, but then again, I never saw any numbers for them, so they just might be.
All in all, I am seeing nothing but good here. Then again I am an optimistic pessimist, so something bad should be happening real soon. -
I am discouraged to hear that no one was ever at the table for those going around the convention. They missed a good opportunity to set up a great display and do some "Advertising" since they were there already.
On the plus side, it seems like a lot of good info was restated and clarrified, not to mention more good info passed about the whole GR and "Incarnates" systems. All in all, good news for us all. These Meet and Greets seem to be worhtwhile.
With that being said, I am sure that within two posts, three at the top, someone will complain again about the M &G's. -
Quote:Actually, I am pretty sure no news has come out of this event since today is only the 27th, the Convention doesn't begin until the 28th, and the Paragon Studios Panel does not happen until 4PM (local time) on the 29th. But to be honest I do not care if any new information does come out in it. Also, no I am not going since I live in Hawaii (as you can plainly see in my profile on the left) and not willing to spend the kind of money that is necessary to travel there when I would have had nothing else in the area to see.Any news come out of this little pricey get together?
Were you there with your Fan Boy cape?
You completely missed my point though (purposely I think) so I will restate it:
IT IS AN EXTRA CONVENTION THEY ARE ATTENDING AND THAT CAN ONLY HELP GET MORE PLAYERS INTO THIS GAME.
Try not to get so offended though CLUE, your point was acknowledged, just not agreed with. -
Quote:Good to know I am not the only one having this problem, but I am talking about more than just the Johnny Sonata "rescue/kidnap" mission. I have done seven more of these types of missions now, everything from kidnaps and lead out, to rescue and lead (tried it hero side for good measure) and even the mayhem side missions where you lead them to the "door". All of them have the problem of the rescuee/kidnapee getting lost repeatedly unless you go very slow.I don't think that is a 17 issue. I haven't played red side for a few weeks but that issue existed when I played there before 17 came out. Had to move real slow and make sure they kept up to complete. I collected one and ditched them on a bridge then went for the others, once I had them all I moved real slow to the obelisks. Usually one would fall out and I would have to collect them again. Something with that mission but not a 17 issue.
The only reason I bring this up is because several months ago (heck, might be years by now) it was listed as a quality of life improvement to the game and it seems to be back now. It may have been back for a while to be honest because I normally avoid rescue missions, but I have no way to prove that. -
This may be a little off subject, but it seems to fit.
Has anyone besides me noticed that on "Rescue" or "Kidnap" missions the rescuee is having a heck of a time keeping up and not getting lost. I remember this was an issue that was fixed a ways back, but it seems to have come back since Issue 17 came out. I did bug report it but then wondered if I should have.
I did three of these types of missions last night and it was bad. One of them was the Johnny Sonata mission where you have to rescue the four mystics and then lead them to the obelisks while getting ambushed by the freaky little sonic demons. It took FOREVER.
Anyways, has anyone else noticed or am I being overly sensititve? -
Seems like someone placed this post just to have his name be the last one in a thread. Maybe the thread would have died if you didn't post something over a MONTH after the last post.

Not a big deal TargetOne, but I have "pre-ordered" a lot of books and games in the last few years and I have ALWAYS gotten my products either the day before they are released in the stores or the same day, if I have it mailed directly to me. If I do it through a local store they also ALWAYS have made sure I got it on the release date.
