Quote:Well, when the numerator is 0, then we wind up with 0/0 and any number divided by itself = one....which means....Would the times when Brawl misses count as the attack doing 0 damage?
Holy Frack!
Brawl does damage, even when it misses!
/e pulls slots out of other powers to put into Brawl. -
I just wanna get into Ouro for Day Job purposes. Is this possible for a pre-25 toon?

Warning: Game related spoilers follow:
No, really, I mean it.
OK, so we now know that Honoree is really Hero One and we all strongly suspect that Mender Silos is really Lord Nemesis. Have you noticed any other characters in the game who took their name, threw it into a bag of Scrabble tiles to come up with a new name?
How about in the ITF, the lieutenant named Roman Tice who suddenly appears, shoots the team leader with an arrow and then just as quickly disappears, never to be seen again?
Or how about the Flight 815 story arc, when you finish fighting the Lost, you find a very familiar looking faceplate/helmet in the treasure chest of St Namaste.
But the one I really like is the new APP/PPP power (available to trollers and MM's): Call Baby Krawler. The summoned toddler doesn't really resemble BaB's all that much (except for the cute lil bionic arms) but the fact that the animations work perfectly is a dead giveaway.
That's all I've found so far; how about you? -
Quote:Oh, good, I've been un-pwned.Actually actually, it IS infinity. However, as you know, infinity is a hard "number" to deal with.
Take a look at:
You will find, that the answer is infinity. (Well, technically ± ∞, depending on the direction from which one approaches 0, as pointed out by Fleeting.)
P.S. Owned by math. -

Quote:Better yet, post the question in the "Fodder for the Canon" thread in the Developer's Corner. Then look for an answer in the "Canon Fodder" thread, also in Developer's Corner. If these answers are not know, is there a good chance that Manticore (the Dev) might be able to elaborate if I send a private message?
Manticore takes questions related to game lore out of the "Fodder for the Canon" thread and answers [some of] them in the "Canon Fodder" thread.
This way, we all get to see the answers, whereas in a PM, only you would get to see it. -

Quote:Yep, Damage per Endurance means Damage divided by Endurance. Since Brawl has 0 Endurance then the equation becomes Damage divided by 0. Any number divided by 0 equals infinity, so Brawl now does INFINITE damage! Helz yeah, I'd six-slot an attack that does infinite damage.I do think the lack of endurance use makes it MUCH more attractive than it used to be though...
But, seriously, on most of my lowbie characters, I usually use Brawl anyway, tho I've never slotted it. If I did decide to slot it, I'd probably put an Acc (which I put in the default slot anyway) and fill out the rest with Recharge.
But, then I'm the same person that uses the Sands of Mu vet reward even at level 50. -
Good plan, except Brawl no longer accepts End Reducers.
My original point being that pre-Stamina tanks tend to have End problems cuz their attacks typically have a lower Damage per Endurance than the other damage-dealing AT's. Yes, Brawl has horrible damage, but it's Damage per Endurance is now the best in teh game!
>.>
<.<
If you can see around my sarcasm, my second point is that: playing by the numbers sometimes might cause some bad power choices. -
All taken care of, thanks everyone.
-
Now Brawl costs no Endurance and the Origin based inherents (Mutagen, Throwing Knives, etc) got their End reduced to a third of their previous End cost.
So, is Brawl worth six-slotting now, especially for lowbie tanks....? -
Anytime's good for me. In fact, I'm hovering over BaBs as I write this. First come, first served.

Quote:Idanno. I was thinking that anyone who Goes Rogue will only be able to operate in Praetoria and would not be allowed back into redside or blueside. Kinda like how they did with CoV: villains can only operate in the zones created for CoV (well, with the exception of the co-operative zones that have been created since then.)The implied mechanism is the change from hero to villain or villain to hero is done in Praetoria. After you are fully heroic or villainous, you can only go the that side.
So a Villain who becomes a hero will be able to visit Atlas Park, but would not be able to visit Mercy Island unless they became villainous again.
I may be off the mark, but that seems to be how it will be set up from what I have read and seen.
I say that because otherwise, who's gonna hang around in the new Praetorian zones? If characters who Go Rogue have a choice, do you think they will play in a zone that only one-third of the playerbase has access to? (ie, those that bought the expansion.) If the Devs don't force them to play in Praetoria, think of how difficult it will be to find teams there. Think of purpleside market prices. Most will only play in Praetoria if the devs force them to.
I'm sure the devs are putting a lot of work into designing and coding the Praetorian zones (they're not just gonna be cut-and-pasted versions of the existing zones, no war walls for one thing.) And I bet they would not appreciate it if we didn't play there. -
If you have an unaffiliated alt on Infinity, or have a slot available to make a throw-away toon, could you help me invite one of my alts to my solo SG?
Both of my toons are in Galaxy hanging out near BaBs. My main will invite you and promote you to just below SG leader, then I'll log off and log on with my alt. You will then invite my alt, and promote him to your level, then quit.
For your trouble, I will give you one of the following Level 50 Common IO's: Defense Buff, End Reduction, Resist Damage. (All are currently selling for 700,000 on the market). If you prefer, I can give the IO to one of your other toons on Infinity. I can even meet you in RWZ to give it to one of your redside toons.
Edit: of course, I would be willing to return the favor for your alts on Infinity or any other NA server.
I'm hovering over BaBs as I write this, first come first served. -
No, this isn't a screenshot of how much Inf I have.
Let's suppose for the sake of argument that I am working on the Sharpshooter badge and have just created 5 level 50 Recharge IO's.
Let's say I go to sell them on the Market and notice that there are 9 bidding and 5 others for sale.
Now the Law of Supply and Demand says that if the Demand (ie number bidding) is higher than the supply (ie number for sale) then I should be able to charge a higher than normal price.
But if I put my 5 Enhancements on the market, then the supply will be now be higher than the demand, so I risk having to sell at a lower than premium price.
(Now here's where I might be getting ebil.) However, if I make 5 other bids - at say 1 Inf, so there's no chance of me actually buying anything - I can artificially increase the apparent demand, therefore hoping that I can charge a premium price. (On the assumption that buyers will see that Demand is higher than Supply and will therefore - hopefully - be more willing to pay a higher price.)
Is this ebil?
Illegal?
Immoral?
Against the game rules?
>.>
<.<
Have you ever done it?
No, I have never done this. Stick a needle in my eye and all that. But what I have done is, if I had a lot of a particular thing to sell, and there were just a few for sale and only a few more bidding, is put one thing at a time on the market, then just watch until it sold, then add another, watch until it sold......etc. -

The good news is: it's so easy to level quickly in this game, that your mom can just reroll her favorite characters on her own account and - in just a few days or so - get back to the levels that her characters are at on your account. (As long as her characters aren't too high.)

Quote:No, the only things I have in my base that use Control are the Telepads and their associated Beacons. Is it possible you have other things in your base consuming Control besides the teleporters that might have stopped working? That's the only thing I can think of. Slow fields, etc.
It doesn't shut down everything at once if you go over the limits, it shuts down one device a a time.
Beyond that, I dunno.
-np
Each Telepad uses 25 Control, each Beacon uses 5 Control. I have 4 Telepad/Beacon combos so 4 * 35 = 140. And the tooltip says I am producing 100 and consuming 140 Control, so that all checks out.
When I hold my mouse cursor over each Telepad, I see a Red Bar (representing Energy) and a Blue Bar (representing Control). All four Telepads are fully Energized and fully Controlled.
However, when I hold my cursor over each Beacon, I only see a Red Bar, the Blue Bar is blacked out. All 8 of my Beacons are fully Energized, but none of them are Controlled.
So, it appears that my Telepads are working, even though the attached Beacons are Uncontrolled.
I just wonder how long it will last. I have a feeling that they may cease working after next maintenance. -
This isn't really a problem; I'm just wondering what's going on
I've got a small SG base with:
1000 Energy produced and 350 consumed
100 Control produced and 140 consumed.
The 100 Control produced is Mainframe and Database.
The 140 Control consumed is 4 Teleporters (25 Control each) and 8 Beacons (5 Control each). These are the only things in my base that use Control.
The little display on the Edit Base screen that show Energy and Control shows I am producing 100 Control, but consuming 140. It is flashing red.
Now, theoretically, since I am using more Control than I am producing, some things should not be working; yet all of my teleporters are working correctly. I tested each one twice (for each beacon) and was teleported to the appropriate zone.
What gives? -
The CAKM is a lie!
Oh, come on; you had to have seen that one coming.....
