Quote:Ok, now that Brutes and Tanks are both allowed in the same missions...
How about someone roll up identical Tank and Brute. Same powersets (ie: Inv/SS and SS/Inv.) Both 50. Same slotting. Same enhancements. Put each one thru the exact same mission, solo. Equivalent PPPP and SRSLY.
Post the times.
Who wins?
Yeah, after thinking about it, it's pretty obvious the Brute would win if we were judging on "time to completion" alone.
So how about we do this:
Same circumstances as above, but instead of judging times, just keep increasing PPPP/SRSLY until one toon can no longer consistently survive the encounter.
Now, who wins?
(I'd do this myself, but I have no vills. As soon as I get GR, I'll roll a Brute that will be similar to my main Tank, but with my leveling speed, it will be months before I get to fitty.) -

Quote:I think the old version will still be available thru Ouro.I wouldn't worry about this... that entire mission arc is being redone for GR. I don't know if the map will remain consistant from holding it or if you'll cause a bug when you finally try to talk to your contact. Either way you might be in trouble come Tuesday, just a head's up.

Quote:I did. Like I said, and the following quote from the article confirms, Heroes don't get access to PPP's.Gate, hero origin ATs get access to Patron sets too... check out that wiki page that got linked earlier.
Patron Power Pools are still unlocked by the badge that comes from completing an Arachnos Patron's first arc. Only Villains can access that arc. Therefore, any Hero, Vigilante, or Rogue that wishes to have access to the Patron Power Pools, must first become a Villain and complete that arc.
OK, OK, I'm splitting hairs on what constitutes a "Hero." But the bottom line is, if any of my blueside toons want access to PPP's, I gotta turn to the dark side, at least temporarily. At that point, that toon is no longer a hero, s/he is a villain. Even if s/he redeems hirself and goes back to blue [once you go blue, you're always true] doesn't change the fact that s/he could only get access to PPP's as a villain only. Redside AT's don't have to go blue to get access to APP's.

Star Wars opened with a title sequence that announced it as Episode IV as a winking nod to the old serials, not a film franchise underway, Kurtz said.
No, it didn't. -
wtf?
Okay, correct me if I misunderstand this: Villains will be able to get access to both APP's and PPP's. But Heroes will only be able to access APP's.
(Because, in order to get access to PPP's you have to get the appropriate badge, which you can only get by becoming a villain.)
Obviously some strange, new definition of "parity" that I've been previously unaware of. -
Yeah, what I meant was kinda what Father Xmas just said.
The things you can use Vanguard Merits to buy are not purchaseable with Inf.
The things you use Prestige to buy are not purchaseable with Inf.
There is also a lot of mid-level recipes/IO's that are technically purchaseable on the market, but with no supply there (ie, Freebird Stealth) they aren't really purchaseable with Inf. (Although you can get them with Reward Merits or take a chance to get them with skeeball random rolls. Unless you're too high of a level.)
It shouldn't be that way. Everything should be purchaseable with Inf. Regardless of my level.
Or maybe a better solution would be: let the player choose which currency type he gets while adventuring. Sorta like Dev Choice AE arcs. You get the choice of earning skeeball tickets or earning normal inf/recipes/enhancement/salvage drops. Only let players do that everywhere. If you want to turn off Inf and just earn merits, do so. -
Now that the markets are going to be merged, can we please merge the currencies? Do we really need 6 different ways to buy things? Why can't everything be purchaseable with Inf?
-
Quote:I don't think you do.Been observing the market closely, learned how to use it, see what really shakes and moves it
Price. Caps. Always. Cause. Shortages. Period.
If a particular commodity is made available for less than the price that the Law of Supply and Demand says should be the price, then shortages will occur.
Why?
Because if I get a purple drop and I know I can sell it to another player off the market for 200 million but - thanks to you - I can only sell it on the market for 100 million, then I am NOT gonna put it on the market.
I mean, seriously, why would I throw away 100 mill?
Since most players feel the same way, then - boom - instant purple shortage. -
As far as Hami raids...we had a couple about 6 months (?) or so ago. None since then; although Cremzen did start setting one up back in April, but then Castle broked the mitos so it never got off the ground.

Very good. But I do have a question: You said 10 days. Does that mean you did one hour of AE every day, then 86 minutes of crafting/marketeering every day for 10 days?
Or did you do one hour of AE once, then 86 minutes of crafting/marketeering once, then spend 10 days selling the items? <- This is what it sounds like you're saying, and if so...wow. -

I'll bring Normanticore, 25 Claws/Regen.

Quote:Yanno, Respecs are given away like candy in this game - vet rewards, a Freespec every issue. Plus you can do a respec mish pretty much whenever you like. Or, worst comes to worst, you can buy a Respec recipe. So, yeah, you can wait until later to use it, but why?So now come the time to be carefuly upon what skills I select.
I see, can I do Respec mission and not use the respec untill latter that
way aquire mor ethan one or do I have to use them stright away on
compleation of the mission.
Was Thinking I could scrap Hover from Flight Power Pool, but keep Fly.
Also, if you're gonna keep Fly, then you need to either keep Hover or choose Air Superiority instead - the Fly power needs one of those as a pre-requisite. (Unless you've got the vet reward that lets you pick Travel power without the necessary pre-requisites. But if you had that, then you'd also have about a million respecs as vet rewards as well, so I'm thinking you probably don't)

You might be better off breaking this into two different threads, one entitled "Ice/EnM build advice" and the other entitled "WP/SS build advice". That way people who have those builds might be more likely to read the thread.
Also, are these going to remain PvP builds or do you want to re-engineer? If re-engineering, where are you headed? PvE build? Farming build? Solo build? -

Hm, looks like the team is full, but I'll bring Normanticore (23 Claws/Regen, like you need another Claws scrapper
) and just stand around in case there's a cancellation.

tl;dr - does a toon have to be in the mission map when the AV is defeated to get credit towards the Dimensional Warder badge?
It was me (tank) and two controllers, doing the "Defeat Seige" mission. Our strategy up until that point was run to the end of map, defeat AV, click glowies, then move on to next mish.
It was my fault entirely: I had forgotten that Nightstar is usually hanging around the map entrance. I ran right by her, found Seige, did Assemble the Team (right when one of the trollers - who were still by the mish entrance said "Hey, there's Nightstar..."), we defeated Seige, clicked the glowies and got the Mish Complete message and the Blue Exit button.
We knew we still needed to take out Nightstar, so instead of leaving the mish we all ran back to entrance to take her out.
Again, it was entirely my fault: a tank running thru mobs attracts a lot of attention and by the time I arrived at mish entrance, we had a lot of company. Team wipe.
Luckily, most of the aggroed mobs wandered away back to their spawn point after a few minutes. But Nightstar and a few minions were still hanging around watching the three of us eating the floor. After popping all of our wakees and getting planted again and again, one of the trollers "hosped" out and - since the mish was complete (defeating Nightstar is not needed for mish completion) was unable to get back into the mish.
Finally, I converted all of my remaining Insps into about three wakees and started popping them. Each time I rezzed, Nightstar killed me, but her knockback pushed me further and further from her spawn point until finally I was able to rez outside of her aggro range. I then pounded her into submission (and enjoyed every minute of it, I may add).
But my question is, did the troller who left the mish after it was complete but before Nightstar was defeated get credit towards the Dimensional Warder badge when she (the troller) was not on the mish map when Nightstar was defeated? The troller did say she did not get XP or Inf when I defeated Nightstar. -
Keep getting the "cannot display the webpage" message...
