And to answer your next question. No, only on Tuesday unless there's a full moon.

    ..

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Note, you'll still be paying the $15 a month. The $9.99 is just the price to buy that version of the game. It doesn't mean you'll be paying $9.99/month now.

You'll get a free month out of it, plus the other associated goodies so it's still a good buy, considering.

  4. You're caught up, sadly, in an agreement that NCSoft has with a distributor in South America.

Basically, NCSoft can't sell directly to you if you live in South America, you have to go through the distributor. Whoever that is.

It sucks for the customer, and it sucks for Paragon Studios who would probably love to sell right to you...but it is what it is.

It checks based on your IP address so if you're coming in through a south american IP, it'll block you. EDIT: Whoops saw you tried getting a friend to do it

Sadly I don't think you can get the booster packs through the distributor...Definitely make your voice heard and complain to NCSoft about this. Hopefully it'll change.

    Thirded on the Chartreuse costume.

As far as the powers selection stuff, Might be easier if we concentrate based on level or something instead of shouting stuff out randomly, yes?

But make a, controller. Gravity + Trick Arrow.

If he's getting a 403 error that means he's getting to their servers but they're denying him access. Could be anything to a misconfigured server to getting caught in an IP ban.

Yeah, I usually like to go the first 10-20 levels without a plan to try stuff out and see where I want to go with it. Then I sit down with Mids and plan it all out. This plan works best if you have vet reward respecs handy.

  9. Yeah. I'm sure.

It detects where you are based on your ISP so it doesn't matter what paypal info you give them. If you're visiting the store from a South American location, it will just give you the list of retailers. (Note this isn't because NCSoft hates south america. They just have a specific distribution deal that prevents them from selling online)

Like I said, best bet is to get your relative in Atlanta to go through the link I posted and buy one of the game editions for your account. They'll need your NCSoft username and password to do it.

Either that or find a boxed copy of the game somewhere.
  10. Ooooooh...

I think Peru (and South America as a whole) is one of those places where distribution deals prevent NCSoft from selling directly. It detects based on IP, so maybe you can have your relative in Atlanta get your account set up with a code.... probably the easiest way to do it.

It's a bad setup, but sadly, it is what it is You won't have any problems paying for the subscription once you get it though.
  11. Er...just to be sure, what country are you in?

They have some weird distribution deals in certain countries that prevent them from selling stuff directly.
  12. See my (heavily) edited post. Sorry about that.

The NCSoft store accepts paypal payments.
  13. The game client is the same as the trial client. No difference so you won't have to download anything else. Just need to get a code (they sell them through the NCSoft online store which I thought took paypal...) and apply it to your account (upgrading your existing trial account).

EDIT: You should be able to use paypal to purchase through here: https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/St...ory&category=2 (Just verify that the code you're buying is correct for your region. When I linked those they show North American game codes (for servers Freedom, Virtue, Champion, etc...). If you see Union in your server list you're running an EU account so make sure they're showing the correct region before you buy one...

The various versions of the game give you differing in game goodies. Architect Edition gives you, for example a code for one of the booster packs free. The Mac edition (which can be purchased by non-mac gamers by the way) gives you a mission teleporter power (sends you right to the door of the mission) plus some costume bits, etc. It's all the same game though and you only have to buy one of them to play.

There's also currently no expansions to buy (but there is one on the horizon, Going Rogue)

There ARE super-booster packs and various other codes that give you in-game goodies (see the NCSoft ONline store for those) but they don't have to be purchased in any particular order.
  14. The amount of improvement you've shown since starting this thread is neat to watch. Keep it up!

I'm not sure if there's a way you can differentiate between these two things. Making the game spawn for more players will give you larger mobs and an increase in the frequency of bosses within those mobs. Pretty sure you can't set things in such a way that says "I want more bosses only please!"

    Lag question

World Detail at 200% is probably enough to do it. Especially in CoV Zones.

I'd start by knocking that one down to 150 or 100.

Knocking down the shadow quality settings also greatly helps framerate.
  17. I can see there being reasons for it. Even just for informational purposes. But if they were working on something like that, it probably wouldn't be high up on the list o' new features.

And yeah, I'd love to be able to export something from the game to import into Mids but that's probably not going to happen. And going the other way will NEVER happen.

Did it just fix itself or did you do something? It's helpful to post what the resolution was in case anybody else is having the same issue.

    Glad you got it fixed!

  20. You're probably going to need to be a tad more specific on what you actually want.

Also, keep in mind the forum guidelines on signature images are as follows: "Signature Images are allowed, however they must be limited to 600x120 pixels AND less than 150kb"

Not just you. I've seen scattered reports that the store is currently down.

I agree with this too. Scrappers particularly are probably the most forgiving while you're learning the ropes. That's not to say the controller/defender/tanker archetypes are difficult but they are definitely a little easier to get into once you've got the basics down.

Particularly if you want to solo at any point, scrappers and blasters will tend to facilitate that more than the other 3.

I jumped right to the image before I read the post and only after I read your text and saw what you had there now did I notice the old tattoo in the new one.

So yeah, I think you succeeded there. If somebody didn't know to look for the shape of the old tattoo, It's not recognizable.
