Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
What I do is take a screenshot of my Enhancement Management window. Then I can transcribe it to the Builder - Yes, by hand, don't be a lazy bum.
I can think of any number of reasons why the Devs wouldn't want us to be able to export game-information, so I'm not surprised that they don't have this feature.

Please enlighten me, 'cuz I can't come up with a single reason. The ability to export in a simple XML file, which we could then import into Mids would be a great boon to the players. Personally, I'd love the ability to import a Mids build into the game to auto respec a character.

And no, Mids' is NOT a valid response. Mids' is a third-party, unsupported application.
@Roderick
I can see there being reasons for it. Even just for informational purposes. But if they were working on something like that, it probably wouldn't be high up on the list o' new features.
And yeah, I'd love to be able to export something from the game to import into Mids but that's probably not going to happen. And going the other way will NEVER happen.

Also, there is NO reason the devs would oppose exporting character build information, other than the man hours needed to implement it. It they ever implemented the long-promised website Vault like WoW's Armory, most (if not all) the work would be done, as your build would be presented on a web page.
How's this: There is absolutely no use for an export file.

There're lots of fun game related reasons though.
Actuallly there is a simple reason this won't happen. Anything that can be hacked gets hacked. I know a few people that can hack almost anything and can change a not so good item into an awesome one, it's not really that hard.

Files on my computer?
It's no different then saving a costume file or story arc, it even simpler then that all we're asking for is an xml file that we can upload into mids.
Should I worry about some hacker hacking my coh updater?
The problem I see with exporting to mids is every new issue the mids team (who aren't paid) might have to update mids in some manner. I used to feel bad for the Herostat team whenever a new issue didn't work with Herostats. It's not always so easy to fix these things.
I just wish we would have gotten City Vault.
Personally, I would love to have an option to save a build in game like we do for Power Customization, Costumes, Bind Files, Window Settings, etc and be able to plug it into Mids.
I have several alts that I've not had the luxury of Mids to plan because they predate my knowledge that Mids existed. I also have several alts that I've built on the fly that now I have no idea how to recreate them in Mids.
Do I think the Devs will code an export build function that would be compatible with Mids... maybe?
If it happens, I will be a happy camper.
@Roderick
A workaround would be to download Mid's and remake your build in it, like you were respecing/marketing into it from scratch, and then save that. Yes, it's a bit of a pain, but for most goals that an export feature would help with, Midas helps with as well.
Character index
You must not use IO sets then, if you can just take a screenshot and transcribe from that. Before IO sets, it wasn't any trouble to just write "3dam/2acc/1rech" when noting how a power was slotted. It's much more complicated now, as you have to hover over every set IO to get the tooltips, and when you have a high level character, it's just a pain in the butt.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
Who said that? Not me. I said that exporting your build from CoH to Mids' isn't a valid reason. And it's not, because neither development team works on nor supports the other program, so neither should make an effort to integrate the two.

XML, on the other hand, is simple, widely used, and easy to work with.

Take not that I did NOT say that it should export in mids format. That's ridiculous. We've gone through several hero planners over the years and supporting one would be stupid.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Hi, been gone a while, and was wondering if any way to export a build (with enhancements that are currently slotted) has been added to the game yet?
