  2. Thanks for all the replies guys, I think I'm gonna give this a shot. I just gotta wait like 4 more days to get my 30 A-merits and buy the +3 pvpio, then I can go redside to open the villain PPPs. I got the recharge for PR down to just over 6 seconds on the build I have planned, its no 2 second ice blast but its not bad. I'll post the data chunk for my planned build for anyone that wants to take a look. I'm still tweeking but the basics are in place.

  3. Anyone have much experience with Summon Tarantula from the villain PPP. Is it durable enough, does it do much damage, and does it tend to last for its whole duration or does it get killed too fast. Assume it would be in a build that would make it perma, is it worth while?

Also, with Poisonous Ray, does the -def & -res stack with the other rad toggles? I'd assume so but I'd love confirmation. Is it a noticeable improvement over just using the rad toggles? I'm thinking this would be usefull in soloing GMs and AVs but does anyone have some first hand experience? (Local_Man, I'm lookin at you )

Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions

    -Fritz
  4. You should also keep in mind that, while your s/l def seems to be capped, its really only at about 40%. Both the invis powers show up in the total at twice what they really are because once you attack you loose half the defense of the invis powers. The true defense for the power is show in the power details box. It can make it a bit tricky to calculate correctly.
  5. Thank you Neo and Chaos, great suggestions. That build is pretty awesome Neo and I love that you got hasten to perma. You guys have given me a lot to think about.
  6. Hehe, I feel ya man. I was lookin at other builds for a while and, while I found some great builds, none of em really seemed to hit all the points I was lookin for. I feel pretty confident in this build though so I think I'm just gonna start building it. I'll post again after I've done a few TF's with the completed build and I should know by then if there any obvious holes that need filling.
  7. Hmmm, 40 views and no replies. Awesome! I must have made the perfect build!
  8. Well that makes sense. If I add a kismet I get 129.84 plus I'll have Aim up every 30 seconds too. Thanks for the help Kinaki.
  9. Thanks kinaki, I really like that Dark Watcher/Hami-o combo. It leaves the acc for FS at 120% though, do you think that will be enough? I think I'd like a little more acc but could probably live with that.
  10. I recently posted a Fire/Dark build for review but after that I got to thinking about Fearsome Stare. I have 5 total slots to use on this power, I have a couple other Dark/ toons and I always slot for fear but I wanted to know if anyone has slotted for -to hit and if so how effective was it? I'm still leaning toward fear but I wanted to get some other opinions as well.
  11. I have come up with a build for my Fire/Dark Corr that I would like to have others take a look at before I build it in game. Its not soft capped but its close and I think all the -to hit should bridge the gap.
I went for recharge mostly and end recovery after that. I have the recharge alpha on her current SO'd build, I'll probably stick with that or get the end redux alpha if it becomes necessary.
I'm trying to do this on the cheap (half a billion'ish) so not much in the way of purps and PvP's. The ones in fireball I chose because they are either cheap or I already have them. All the LotG's and heal uniques will be bought with A-merits.
My intended use for this toon is mostly TFs but I'd also like it solo well and be generally a useful all around toon.

Thank You in advance for your constructive advice.

    I want names

Oh is that the bandwagon (sticks out thumb and hops on). I've got a big bag of pitchforks and torches so lets burn this motha down! HATE! HATE! HATE! this change......
  13. YES! 1000 times YES! Love these suggestions and I'd also love it if the salvage menus would remember the way you have salvage sorted.
  14. Awesome, I'll be joining that channel when I get home. The +4 STF from last night was a hellova lotta fun.
  15. Have a kin hit u with IR and SB, jump to make small adjustments. I helped a stone tank buddy get it that way, in granite no less.
  16. shield, fire or dark, in that order I think. Any of those will make an AoE beast. Shield is probably the most popular because you can soft cap the positional defense fairly easily.
  17. I'll agree with the other that Procs do more good in low damage powers. That concept led me to create 2 builds that rely almost entirely on procs to do damage.
First I built an earth/rad troller with 19 damage procs in it. Almost every single power, including those that have no inherent damage, are contributing to the spawns defeat. Earth is particularly well suited to this because of all the location AoEs. I just throw everything out there and watch em melt. This toon has become one of my favorite toons, it diddnt cost much and it is very effective.
Motivated by my success with the earth/rad I build an Earth/TA to have even more location AoE. This one has about 29 or 30 procs in it (not all damage procs, some got the -resist or +HP). This thing has so much debuff and damage (especially with the addition of Oil slick and fire ball) its nuts. Dont get me wrong, neither of these will ever compare to a farming build or a pimped out blaster but to be able to easily wipe out +2x8 spawns solo with some of the lowest damage powersets is truly a testament to utility of procs.
  18. I have had a similar experience to the OP since the patch. Before the patch I no trouble with Trapdoor on any AT I threw at em (fenders, trollers, tanks, scraps), many only with SOs. Then last night after the patch, I failed on 3 seperate toons. One of whom was a rad/sonic fender that I really expected would walk right through this.

I'll just end up teaming to get through it, which is fine but I have absolutely no doubt that he is significantly harder now than he was before the patch.

P.S. Just to clarify, not whining here, I dont mind teaming just noting the increase in difficulty.
  19. Good bye SGU, i wont miss you. I dropped SGU about 3/4 through season one and was surprised it even got a second season. I watched and loved all Stargate series prior to this one but SGU was such a massive departure from the previous series that it left me nothing to connect with. It was dark, heavy, not fun and not funny. I really wanted to like the series as I wanted more Stargate in my life but I just hated it. Perhaps now we will get a good Stargate, unless of course SGU has killed the franchise....

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but this series was such an incredible disappointment for me, I just can't help it.

    Hero Builder App

As far as I know there is not currently a functioning hero builder app. If you do a forum search I'm sure you'll find a few others that have expressed interest in getting something like this going. Perhaps you could join forces. I would love to see something like this but I'd rather not have to jailbreak my iTouch. Good Luck
  21. As , others have said, the ill/rad is by far the most fun toon I play. However an Earth/rad plays completely different and is a hellova lotta fun too. Some may say its lite on damage to which I say: frankenslot and damage procs! I have 19 damage procs on mine and 2 of the +2 mag hold for Chocking Cloud and Volcanic Eruption. I can hold EB's and AV's and it is very satisfying to watch powers that do no inherent damage killing stuff.

Elec/cold trollers are great fun too. Just watching an EB staring at you, wishing he could punch you but can't cuz he has no end, brings a smile to my face. Mine only has SO's on him so far and he is very usefull and fun to play.

    Thats my 2 inf.

    Fritz-
(Not to be confused that Fritzy guy and his ludicrous rant)
  22. Local_Man, I really want to thank you for this wonderfull thread and all the work you have put into it. I read your guide a long time ago (I feel like it was longer ago then the post date but I could be wrong) and it inspired me to build an ill/rad. Of all my toons, the ill/rad (followed closely by my earth/rad) has become the most fun toon I play. With this latest round of freespecs I have finally finished my i19 build. It takes ideas from many of the builds posted in this thread, reviews and suggestions by my buddy, Garet Jaxs, and a bit of my own quick goat thinkin' and fuses them into a rediculous beast of an ill/rad (imho, ymmv). Now, since you started me down this long road, I thought it only fitting to offer up my build for critique by the man himself.

Heres the quick and dirty stats:
    Regen: 281%
    Recov: 4.68
Rech: 206.3 (can be upgraded to 220% for a nominal fee i.e. purp sets in ice blast and frost breath)
S/L Def: Mids says 45.4% but in game I have 45.06%, not sure why yet and its still softcapped so no biggie.

The link is doing strange things, (missing slots, slots in wrong place) but the data chunk seems fine.

  23. Personally, I have no problem with shields, I like the buffs more than i dislike any graphics. That being said, if I were given the option, I'd take the less noticeable colors. On my /Cold troller my ice shields are almost transparent with a slight blue tint. Bottom line is, ugly shields beats no shields any day of the week
