  1. I did 4 Lambdas last night, only had one fail and even on that fail, people were still in good spirits and said nice try and such. I had a great time with Lambda, its challenging but not insurmountable and can be completed in about 30-45 mins.

I was truly surprised when I looked on the forums this morning and saw the many angry posts about the new stuff. I think its new and it will take a few days before the masses get the hang of everything. It'll be old hat in 2 weeks and we will see variations of these trials like speed runs/thread runs/all troller runs ect.

While the Lambda was forming, I told a couple friends last night that I felt like it was the fist day of sub all over again. Several others agreed and when I really thought about that, I realized how exciting that was. I've been playing since i6 so to feel like a newb again was rather exhilarating.

I have not tried BAF yet but I am so excited to get home and try it out.

Kudos to the OP for posting something positive and Nalroks story was hilarious!

    Mace Mastery

Electric armor is resistance based and scorpion shield is defense based. All depends on what you want to build for.

Web Envelope is AoE and, I think, Electric Fence is single target. I'm not positive on this one though.
  3. Also Crits! Headsplitter doing double damage make me wet my pants!
  4. I have been working on my Rad/Sonic and looking at many of the builds posted on the forums and I have a couple questions for the Rad/Sonic aficionados.

I notice most builds skip "Amplify". I was planning on taking this power but is there a reason its skipped a lot? Is the fender version not worth the pick?

I also see many builds with "Choking Cloud". I was under the impression that without a second form of AoE hold to stack with "CC" the hold would be unreliable and it has a very small radius. I have "CC" on my Earth/Rad troller and its great to stack with "Volcanic Gasses" but on its own seemed rather lack luster. Can anyone explain the reasoning behind taking this power on a Rad/Sonic? Is it just for a Basilisk mule? I guess it could stack with "EM Pulse" but I'm not a fan of that power because with all the toggles a rad has running, the last thing I want is my Recovery to stop...um....recovering.

    tldr:
1)Why do most rad/sonics seem to skip Amplify?
2)Why do most rad/sonics take Choking Cloud?

    Thank You for your time.

P.S. Funny story, I spent about 4 hours last night preping and gathering all the IOs needed for my Rad/Sonic and only once I was mostly done with a respec did I realize that I had not gone red side yet for the PPPs. Looks like I'll be building it in about 4 days now....lol

This! One million times this! That is IMHO the best use of a proc in the game. With a few baddies around you it will go off almost every time!
  6. I'd vote /SD. Like you said it not too hard to softcap all positions and Shield Charge is so very satisfying. I consider an Ele/SD the king of scrapper AoE.

I'll admit to not having much experience with elec armor but IMHO double crashless mini nukes > Damage aura

    ymmv
  7. Yeah, Freem! was the best. It was like 2 weeks after April Fools when I asked a buddy when they were going to impliment the visual sounds and he just started laughing at me lol. Yeah they got me!
  8. I use Division Line (40-45). Worth 33 merits and can be done in 40-50 min. I made a bunch of targeting macros to locate the "Find item or person X" things and that helped alot. I like this over freakshow war just because I get to keep all my powers.
  9. I don't know a great deal about EA but I have heard its not very good. So I thought I'd take it to mids and see what happens.

It looks like it would be pretty sturdy but am I missing a hole someplace? I know it has low Psi def and low DDR (51.9%) but will that make it feel squishy? My last 2 scraps were /SD and that's a very sturdy set, how would this compare?

I haven't even made this toon yet, just kinda spitballin here but I'd love to get some thoughts on this. Thanks

  10. This month, its BS/SD scrap. Last month was a Earth/fire dom. the month before that was a fire/dark corr, I could go on but the real answer is what ever I happen to be psyched about at the moment.

  14. I'd be ok with more being added if the drop rate for all temp powers was lowered significantly. My inventory gets cluttered up with these way too fast. 99% of them just get instantly deleted. If they were rare I might get a little excited when one dropped.
  15. Skip the Clap.

    that sounds dirty.....
  16. LMAO!! That was awesome!! Great Job!!
  17. Couple minor changes, mainly swapping your slotting on a couple powers to reduce end consumption and round out the stats on your heavy hitters. Don't let the PvP IOs scare your they are actually pretty affordable. I got that FotG for less than 20 mill last week. Consider the Cardiac Alpha because as it is now, in any long fights you will be sucking wind. Of course CP mitigates that, so perhaps it won't be that much of a problem. Just something to think about.

  18. Skipping 2 of the best powers in the set??? I'd have to say bad idea. VG is my favorite aoe hold because it will continue to grab new baddies and stack mag for bosses and such. QS in addition to its great control use also provides a healthy dose of -def that stacks with your other powers. My earth trollers and Doms would feel very naked without those powers.

PS: the build wont open in mids, might be the sleet bug if you are using an older version of mids.

    Devs did it right.

The thing is, basing the value of an A-Merit on the most expensive items in the game is a bit misleading. PvP IOs that sell for 100-200 mill also cost 30-35 A-Merits.

Not saying its right or wrong just pointing out the disparity that exists.
  20. Only thing I can see is possibly to find a slot to add to Stalagmites and put in a set of Stupefy. You loose 3.75% recharge but gain 3.125% to ranged. Anywhere else you can add ranged def come at the cost of more recharge. (Trap of the hunter in Stone Prison for example)
Here is a link to my build but I'm not sure it will be much use for you as I went for s/l softcap.

    Catch-22

    Gratz on a new 50!

    * actually I'll tell you what I was told when I hit 50for the first time many years ago:
"Congrats on your 50,...... now go make another one!"

Looking back, that was sage advise
  22. I had this problem with my old Nvidia 9800 and it was only resolved when I replaced the card. I have heard (take it with a grain of salt) that Nvidia released a bad driver a while back that caused irreparable damage to many cards.

Sorry for your trouble, I know all too well how frustrating it can be.
  23. I don't have a single toon without it. I'm an unapologetic hasten/SS junkie ever since I discovered what it did 6 months into playing the game (around i7)
  24. Interesting, I have often considered Invoke Panic but I never seem to have the room in my builds. I do have Provoke on my elm/sd scrap and I get great use out of it.
    Cool idea!
  25. On my Elec/SD scrap I went with Cardiac (the end redux one). Hes got about 170% recharge so even with good end redux slotting in sets, I was still running low in long fights (AV/GM).

If you have even slight end issues now, going with the Spiritual Alpha will only exacerbate the problem.

If your end issues are slight, consider the Musculature with the end mod bonus.
