All the holds are playing the stun animation... it's kind of annoying.

If you follow the link by Carnifax you can see the original painting in full colour. Examine the face of Kronos (as in Kronos Titan) closely. I have always found his expression really, really disturbing. Kronos is also called Saturn in Roman Mythology.
The Legend: Kronos was an ancient greek god/Titan who overthrew his father. It was prophesized that he would be overthrown by his own son. He was afraid of this happening, so when his children were born, he would eat them. Finally, his wife tricked him by giving him a stone to swallow while hiding the actual baby, Zeus (as in Zeus Titan, and Jupiter in Roman Mythology). Zeus overthrew Kronos, and in the strange way of greek mythology, forced Kronos to vomit out all his siblings that had been swallowed. (Somehow the siblings were all ok after sitting in divine hydrochloric acid for so long, um!)
Hercules (as in Hercules Titan) is the son of Zeus by the way. Jack Emmert likes his Greek Mythology. -
Because I have way too much excess energy after double-xp weekend...
N.B. images used to create these do not belong to me, and should be credited to the sites where I got them from, except I forgot where. -
I made a traps/sonic over double-xp weekend. Defender traps is much stronger than corrupter traps, and I could tell the difference immediately. The higher defense and acc debuff values were quite noticeable, making toebombing a lot safer.
Blueside teams move slower than redside teams and this gave my traps more time to recharge. Also the greater willingness of controllers and defenders to put +recharge buffs on me. Ya...did I say toebombing was never easier, due to the presence of tankers, who tend to taunt mobs and clump stuff up.
Lack of a heal makes it hard to help teammates recover if they are getting hit though, especially AoE blasters. I think Rad synergises most with Traps but then that might just be because Rad is good. Kinetics to boost recharge is good too.
Sadly, I think I may prefer the defender trap version over the corrupter trap version, although my corrupter damage is way higher... still it might be comparing apples and oranges, I'll see when I get the defender levelled and IOed out first.
Softcapping a traps defender should be easier. But I don't think it's defender paradise the way it sounds on these threads. There's always the caveat that your FFG is not going to have your defense. If a lot of AoEs are falling, especially ones with KB, your FFG will die and/or get knocked away. You end up having to constantly refresh it, or even have a volley hit you when it's down/knocked away. -
I'm actually quite curious if a pool-and-epics-attack kinetics controller (with fulcrum shift) does more damage, or a (perma)-dom.
Anyone want to do an analysis? I hope this doesn't start off a firestorm. -
Thugs/Storm/Leviathan MM with whirlwind from speed pool.
Gang war + regular pets + coralax pet, tornadoes AND waterspout, lightning clouds, hurricane AND whirlwind! -
The stun and the teleportation need not go to together. Why not make the teleportation autohit, and the stun not autohit?
I can't really imagine a regular AOE control power on so many mobs that is autohit mezzing... (telekinesis has a huge endurance cost and can only fit so many) -
Some of the more memorable arcs that come to mind.
Best TO Range Arc (1-15): 15+ Minute Tutorial - Knowledge is Power: Architect Entertainment 28470 @Paula
Best DO Range Arc (15-25): Ctrl + Alt + Reset! aka Time Loop 137561 @Bubbawheat
Best SO Level Arc (25-40): Pro Patria Mori 1173 @WhatRoughBeast
Best use of Mechanics: Grim Riddles 1396 @Mantid -
I've joined a lot of start-up SGs/VGs. (Because I have a lot of alts, and I don't have a regular SG/VG.) I generally encounter things like:
- The supergroup leader being a new player simply disappears after a few months (or even a few weeks), because they got bored with the game and went off to the next MMO.
- The supergroup's members, which were recruited through spamming broadcast, all go inactive. (I'm guilty of it too, sure.)
- The supergroup members are members in name, so they are on the roster, but none of them wants to team with you, and try to avoid teaming with you. Same with whoever is on the coalition.
- The small SG/VG keeps telling me to make prestige, put on SG/VG colours, whatever, so they can build up. I do play in SG mode but I don't like people getting anal about what I have to do.
- And I play at weird times so everyone in the SG/VG is offline when I play.
So at the end of the day, I see a start-up SG/VG become a dead SG/VG, and then I just quit and go back to my 2 person "SG", where at least I know is quite comfy and has lots of space to dump my stuff -
If it is unlikely for Wormhole to be moved to level 12, I think the simplest changes that would vastly improve Gravity's performance would be to increase Wormhole's radius of effect and decrease its animation time.
Increasing the damage of Lift so it is on par with Levitate would make a lot of sense too. -
Interesting...! Time to try out some /rads in the coming double-xp weekend, now that I can actually get rid of rad's grotesque puke-coloured hues.
-
Talking about Ice/Rad/Fire, how about Ice/Rad/Mental. You could run Arctic Air + Choking Cloud + World of Confusion all proced out. One ice slick and stand there waiting for the mobs to die.

I thought Canadians are just skinny Americans who spell fullstop as "eh" ...

This is like making a World Cup but only US players can compete.

Quote:I like.Another really good feature would be similar to Amazon.com with a "people who liked this arc also liked..." list that would be presented to you when you complete the arc. That would make a lot more sense to have than that big search tags window that doesn't do anything. (WTF is it there for anyways?)
Also tools for making, managing and sharing playlists like Youtube.
Button for "Recommend to ...", "Email to ..." (Put the game email to some use!) -
SSK is one of the most sensible things that came with I16.
1) Teaming with any lowbie team, any friend running a lowbie, and getting xp.
2) No more having someone refusing SK or insisting on being sked to the lowest possible mentor (fubaring any possible contribution from them), going into endless "I can still heal" or "I can still hit" arguments, or even having said bum sneakily dropping sk.
3) Mentor (you as the mentor or you as mentee) hospitalises in a fight or goes out of range, and the mentee drops like a rock. -
I often thought that when I try to wormhole mobs that are quite purple in con, they are not teleported. (They are stunned but not teleported, and I don't get "missed".)
Could someone confirm or refute this? I can't remember what mobs it was I was fighting in that situation. It could be some teleport resistance mob, or I was drunk when that notion formed in my head. :P -
Ice domination is a bit like a blend of force fields and storm with the tame mashed potato powers and none of the mob knocking about parts. You cannot get as high defense values as Force fields but there are other mitigation powers. Very good and unique single target debuffs. Less direct damage than Storm but no worries about things getting pushed off your ice slick, either.

Freem is a chinese gold farmer from Singapore, often seen on Virtue server (with alts in Freedom, Justice, Guardian, Champion) spam-mailing people and snatching invention salvage away from lowbies.

Search for Daybreak Patrol. It's on Virtue and plays on Oceanic nights. 2-3 times a week and I think they have free slots.

*Singularity rushes in with a bomb strapped to it*
*Enemies rush towards Singularity. Go flying radially in all directions.*
*Singularity explodes spectacularly ... ... killing no mob because they've all been bounced away*

Mind controllers just explode themselves! -
Quote:PM me your arc when you finish it ya?I'm also crafting a period piece MA mission myself, so eventually I can reciprocate.
I like the genre and want to play it if you made one.
2nd storyarc in my sig is a noir-inspired piece, even though it's not exactly a period piece.
(BTW: I did a shard TF with you long ago, glad to see you're still playing the game.) -
The geography here seems to be missing rather large regions of the globe. If it were me I'd use the term Asia-Australian rather than oceanic, but then the New Zealanders would throw a fit.
