Quote:OH SWEET! I missed the link in Mothers_Love's post. Thanks for pointing it out to me. After seeing that I withdraw most of my objections.I'll bet this new character creator wouldn't even wash my clothes, cut my lawn or do my taxes either.
What a hunk of junk.
While I agree it looks like this costume creator is going to be wasted on a game like EVE at least some of your concerns (hair/body movement) looked covered according to the link Mothers_Love provided earlier in this thread.
I still want nipples, boobs that jiggle and bounce, Shoulder Cats/Pandas/Parrots that look just as lifelike as the Avatar, and decent looking Alien/Monstrous stuff. -
Quote:That's why it would take a financial investigator/auditor to review the books to determine if what was done was illegal. And again even if it was determined that the company did nothing wrong, the legal fees they'd incur defending themselves in court could easily eat up any profit they made on this crappy film. It's definitely not a blockbuster.Your definition is correct, but I do not see how it applies here. Sony gave them money to do SFX for their movie. As long as Hydraulx delivered said SFX, I'd have a big problem with calling the money paid by Sony "embezzled". Once it was given to Hydraulx, and the SFX delivered, it was Hydraulx's money. Not Sony's.
That's not the only type of embezzlement. Companies get in trouble all the time misappropriating funds from one account for other projects. It doesn't matter if they intend to return the money before it gets missed, it's still illegal.Quote:Embezzlement would be one of Sony's accountants using company funds to pad his own bank account.
The temptation for companies to play it fast and loose partially stems from the idea that they can turn a quick profit on their own business projects and return the misappropriated funds to the original account before they are needed. Sadly they only seem to get caught when their projects backfire and they lose the misappropriated money instead of making it. -
Meh. Wasn't impressed.
1. The hair didn't look animated.I want hair that blows in the wind. (I was looking at the female being made)
2. Limited to humans. What am I supposed to do about my monstrous/alien characters?
3. No nipples.
4. No examples of how those skeletons look when moving, and when I read the comments here I get the impression that it's not the type of game that has a lot (if any) first person content where avatars interact. -
Merging the server lists only means that the NA servers will be getting access to 4 more servers while the EU servers will get access to 11 more servers.

Quote:Yes it's true both factions were released with the initial level softcapped at 40 but they always intended the final cap to be 50. That was what everything in the game has been designed around.<nitpick>
Actually, the level cap for heroes at launch was 40, and so was the level cap for villains when City of Villains was launched. It took each game one issue to increase the respective level caps to 50 (Issue 1 for heroes/Issue 7 for villains). For a while, it made non-arena PvP, a new feature of City of Villains, kind of harsh, since level 50 heroes almost always walloped the level 40 villains.
</nitpick>
Furthermore the company that originally made this game has a habit of releasing MMO's 10 levels short which they add a few months later. -
Quote:If you turn off your XP you shouldn't accrue any patrol XP while your character is logged off.I want "no patrol XP" because (1) I don't want the hassle of having to regulate my rate of earning XP by doing some sort of "2-mission on, 1-mission off" nonsense; and (2) I want to actually earn my levels rather than being given them as a reward for prior inactivity -- Patrol XP as it stands is basically the MMORPG equivalent of welfare, and I prefer to work for my money.
-
Quote:Turning off xp is not a workaround. It's a simple and effective solution given to us to use if we don't want to outlevel content. You are just having a hissy-fit because you don't like it.I work in IT Support. A workaround is not a solution. A workaround is what you give people until there is a solution. It should not be the player's burden to keep track of how much XP he's getting, or to use a "2-missions on, 1-mission off" style of play to regulate his "earn rate." I don't want Patrol XP. I don't even recall anyone ever asking for Patrol XP. So why has Patrol XP been forced on me?
Now this is an example of a complicated workaround to get something that already is available in the game by simply toggling off XP. Fortunately the devs will never see it because it's been posted in the wrong section of the forums.Quote:Hey, here's another idea: The devs could establish a "no reward" location in each zone -- log off there, and you get no Patrol XP!

Yeah but the OP doesn't like that answer so he's throwing a tantrum over the responses he's getting.

Quote:I can also use a few more free transfers but the devs had their reasons for giving them out this past year. The release of Going Rogue was a big deal and the devs gave us a chance to get our servers in order by allowing us free transfers for limited times.Have there been any hints at any upcoming free transfers? I resubbed about a month ago and the folks I played with have moved to a higher pop server (so long infinity
). Apparently there were free xfers earlier in the year but obviously I missed out on those.
I have 6 or 7 chars to move and the prospects of spending $60-$70 to move them is notappealing. :/
I'm sorry you didn't resub when they were available, but like you I have my fingers crossed that we'll get some more in the future. -
Quote:And that is exactly how I went thru and set up my lower level characters, and on my 50's I pulled the ones I needed off the builds so I don't lose anything when I tweak their builds to make room for the 4 new power choices they'll have.Of course.. if they aren't level 50 then you can just add the slots next time you level.

It sure does make sense to get respec early, especially if you have a lot of characters that use Fitness. When I19 gores live we'll be getting 2 freespecs but they'll be given a week apart and they won't stack. So if you don't respec all your characters in that first week you'll lose the second freespec on any character that hasn't used the first one.
And if your account was active in August when GR went live you should still have any unused freespecs they gave out then.
Also remember that you can only pull 10 enhancements off of a build, and depending on how Fitness is slotted you could easily find yourself losing enhancements if you don't plan ahead and pull them early.
I have 80+ characters and I used my GR freespecs to get my characters that use fitness ready so when I19 hits I won't be panicking rushing to get use of both freespecs, and I won't be losing any enhancements. -
Quote:I wouldn't be too hard on him SwellGuy. He's probably had unpleasant experiences on other internet forums which left him emotionally traumatized.Well I want to thank you for confirming for me and those who can read where the problem between you and Forbin is.
Think of it as a 3rd degree sunburn to his psyche and just like a person with a bad sunburn reacts negatively to even the gentlest touch he's going to react the same way to any contact with his ego. Just give him time and he'll learn why this is the best community in the gaming industry.

Quote:Yeah it's called the law.Allegedly, I would like to add, by Sony who has an alien invasion film of their own on the way. No axe to grind there.
Embezzling money from customer's projects? You have a funny way of describing company revenue.
Embezzlement is the act of dishonestly appropriating or secreting assets by one or more individuals to whom such assets have been entrusted.
If you come to me and give me money to complete a job and I use it on my own purposes instead of yours then I've embezzeled money from you. It doesn't matter if later I use another customers money to complete your job, or if I intend to replace the funds you gave me from the profit I make on my own project.
The only thing you are right about is that currently the charges are allegations. But if this does go to court it doesn't matter if they are found innocent or not. The cost of defending themselves will easily eat up the money they made on making this pile of crap. -
Quote:No Paragon City doesn't let every Tom, Dick, or Harry just drive into the city which is plainly evident from the traffic that doesn't exist. It's a walled off city. The only way to get thru the War Walls is by train or boat. The city doesn't even have an airport.so paragon city has no visitors? loading up the streets with taxis would make sense as well...
Selective editing of posts won't win your argument.Quote:nice...
You asked a question and you've been given both game mechanic and RP reasons why there aren't a lot of vehicles in the game. Now you have a decision to make. You can sulk because people aren't agreeing with you, or you can put on your big boy pants and move on.Quote:Paragon City solved it's commuter/traffic problem by building huge parking lots outside the cities War Walls and making people take the trains in from those points.
-
Quote:On the bright side, the company that embezzled money from their customers projects to make this heaping pile of guano will probably spend most of the money they make on the film fighting lawsuits, and then even more money paying off the settlements.Even sadder, with a reported budget of $10M, it made a profit. We may yet have that sequel thrust on us after all.
-
And except for the Taxi's and city vehicles 99% of all those drivers live outside the city and are driving in to work in the city.
Paragon City solved it's commuter/traffic problem by building huge parking lots outside the cities War Walls and making people take the trains in from those points.
You're not getting more cars. Deal with it.

I'm pretty sure we were given the ability to turn off XP so we had the choice of not out leveling content before they added Patrol XP.
-
I went thru my 80+ characters and found that only about a dozen needed to respec because they were using Fitness. Of them only the 2 50's actually needed to have their builds tweaked to take advantage of the new power slots that Fitness going inherent will be opening up.

Quote:I haven't really watched Castle, but I do like how the makers of The Big Bang Theory manage to work in references to City of Heroes in many of their episodes. I've seen the "Statesman Star" being worn as a T-shirt or on a poster in many of the episodes. I guess there's some question as to whether those "product placements" are authorized by NcSoft or not but I guess gaming nerds will support the games they love regardless.

I'm sure the NCSoft is fuming over the free advertisement, oh wait that's Disney that sues people for stuff like that.

I'm sure that Sam knows that, and he's just trying to be helpful by letting the OP know that until they merge the lists (I hope it's something they are giving serious thought to) that there is another option available if server population is a major concern.

Quote:Uhm wrong section. I believe you are looking for eitherSince AE. So many of my friends have switched to Farm machines. I'm looking for a true FUN toon. Preferably a melee toon, and one that could hold its own in PvP but PvE as well. I was thinking maybe a widow or fortunata, but also maybe a brute or tank? Any ideas of fun builds will help. (That means any at all! I'd prefer a melee toon but if you're LOVING you're ranged toon or buffer, plz post!)

Sales finally over. So that's 10 1/2 hours the OP has had to buy the game since his last post. More than enough time to buy it online

I wonder why the OP hasn't responded back yet. I see he started a new thread at 11 pm and his last post there was just a half hour ago. Is he waiting until after the sale is over so he can say he missed it?

Quote:Welcome to the dark side.I've been playing for 2-3 months (after a couple years away) without Going Rogue. The only thing I've missed at all is the alignment merits, but only now that my latest character is nearing the cap. If you're planning to stay hero or villain, aren't stressed about min-maxing your IOs with the expensive rare ones yet (which alignment merits help with), and still find the standard powersets fresh (or find them fresh again after being away), then the expansion is overkill for now.
That being said, 19.95 is nice. Mommy Atomic didn't raise no fool. I went ahead with that, yessir.
We have ponies and pie.
