Server Population?

Hey, I'm a (possibly) returning player- I played for over 2 years, 2 years ago. I am considering re-subbing and getting Going Rogue but I have a concern I'd like to ask about first.

After getting the trial of GR I find myself thinking it's content wont keep my attention all that long (got to level 14 with a demon/pain dom MM in a day and a bit, enjoyed the story and loved the new maps/enemies but don't think running all the branching possibilities will entertain me all that much) and it seems a little pricey for what it is. But I'm willing to put that aside providing my reasons for leaving aren't a problem anymore..

Long story short I left for a number of reasons but highest on the list was because I was tiered of the graphics (fixed very well by Ultra mode) and because I felt the server population was dwindling and I rarely found fun/friendly teams anymore.
What I've seen in the free trial hasn't raised my hopes on this issue and I was wondering what you guys think of the server population levels at the moment, specifically on Defiant as that's where all my old toons are.

(also apologies if there is another thread like this already active, I did try search first but I've never been terribly good at finding what I'm looking for with that)

There is more to GR than just the Preatoria arcs, there is also the Tip and morality missions and the impending I19 incarnate slots.

As for server population, they're not packed, but there are plenty of people around. I'm on Union and haven't had problems finding teams recently. I find it's a combination of knowing which Global channels to join, making good friends on your globals, and joining an active SG. It can take a wee while to establish yourself but well worth it. Sunday night had me jumping from a Croatoa team to a SG STF and then a global channel Sister P TF.

If you roll some toons on Union look me up on @Dave N Smith and I'll happily join you for some mayhem.

I second what Diggis says, only my main server is Defiant. Between Defiant Events and my global friends list, I never have any problem finding teams, even at the weird, late hours of the night I often play. And I'm not even in a SG.

Yeah I started on union in the beginning but switched to defiant when I found I had some RL friends there. I established myself there, have 3 lvl 50s (2 heroes 1 villain) and had a great sg that I loved.. but then all my rl and in game friends left and the sg died. That was when I had troubles finding teams and was just so bored of the same old grind that I couldn't be bothered to reinvest myself in the game.

I think I'm ready to try again and I think an active sg would be a good place to start but I am kind of attached to Defiant because of all my characters there. So does anyone know any good active Defiant based sgs?

Also if I do 'take the plunge' and splash out on GR but find Defiant lacking I'll def look you up on Union Diggis, thank you for the offer

Server populations on the US side have been unbelievable ever since GR launched. Judging by server load indicator dots, Virtue and Freedom have been packed to capacity practically every day at US prime time, and the other servers exceed medium capacity almost every day, with at least one more reaching peak capacity from time to time.

If shortage of people is your worry, that does not seem to be a problem for the moment.

Also, as stated, there is more to Going Rogue than Praetoria. About the biggest thing you're buying with that is seven more ATs hero-side and seven more ATs villain-side, a proliferation addition of epic proportions.

Defiant's great - just join the channel Defiant Events and you should be able to get teams quite easily

I saw reds last night on Freedumb and Virtue [not that I had trouble connecting to Virtue, most of the other had 2 dots which wasn't something I ever saw before baring major events [Pardon me if this isn't new I been away for 3 months.]
