I've not heard any hints, but I'm hoping for another go around of transfers myself..

I'm sorry you didn't resub when they were available, but like you I have my fingers crossed that we'll get some more in the future.
I know this is probably small comfort but while you were gone they added the ability to email inf and items to your own global email address. So even though you can't transfer characters for free, you could start new characters on the new server and they don't have to start off paupers.
Since you've been gone, I'd highly recommend this. Start your character as a Preatorian so you can see all the new goodies. And if you wait to start until i19, you get inherent Fitness, which will make those early levels less painful.

edit - and if it was your company, you wouldnt just go around giving things out for free constantly, would you? Cant stay in business that way
