    Vanity Powers

I think it is one aspect that coh has not yet developed further but one that i think could ultimately seal the deal in terms of playability and over all attractiveness of the game. Why? Because it's the little things that make a huge difference. Let's say for instance that someone is playing a mind dom. Wouldn't it add leagues more depth to the experience of playing a mind dom if maybe you had a power in which you could control a random NCP and attack as that character. Or maybe an illusion troller might be able to set different appearances on himself/herself and on other players.

I think alot of those sort of vanity powers wouldn't be too difficult to implement and would add tremendous depth to the game.
    /unsigned for reasons explained above.

Please don't get discouraged if this idea wasn't well recieved. Not all suggestions are diamonds everyone will love. Maybe you'll have better luck with your next idea.

Greyed out doesn't necessarily mean the server is down. Being greyed out also means the server population is so large you can't log in immediately.

There have been several times in the past during reactivation/double XP weekends when a server like Freedom has been greyed out and the Queue is in effect and you just have to have patience and select it a few times before a spot opens and you can get in.

As of right now, no new costume pieces, no power proliferation, no power/epic pool/ custimization, etc.

I am curious to hear opinions as to why a NDA was required for any of this content, or is this secretive content being planned for issue 21? Thoughts?
Since I have no idea what you are talking about I'd have to say no I20 is not the most hyped issue ever. I knew more about a lot of previous issues before they came out than I do about I20.

I'm more than happy with paying a pittance for rent; it's better than having to try to scrape together massive amounts of prestige to avoid having my base locked (I run a two-man SG with my girlfriend on each side of the game, earning enough to pay rent was sometimes tricky, especially since we've usually had the biggest plot we could afford).
    Yes. That's annoying.

Being forced to spend hours even days and weeks grinding for prestige so the base doesn't get locked at the end of the month is annoying.

Taking maybe 20 minutes to run 1-3 missions in SG mode once a month to earn the pittance you need for rent doesn't even register on the annoyance meter.

The truth of the matter is that Rent is so low you don't even have to worry about paying Rent. Once your base is designed you can easily have enough prestige accumulated to pay rent for years.

Edit: For example I have a base on Virtue that is on the largest plot possible and has every item I could buy and I still have 28,000,000+ prestige left over. My monthly rent is 3,000 per month. I can pay my rent for the next 777 years before I need to go back into SG mode.

The act of paying rent is annoying? I made on of my semi retired characters the SG Leader and have it standing next to the SG register so it only takes 35 seconds to click on the contact, pay rent and switch characters. The bulk of the time is spent waiting for the character to log off.

Would be a nice feature to have available for those very same reasons.
As we have explanied before in each of the past threads on this subject, RMT sites will start transferring characters from Master accounts to new accounts and sell them to stupid players.

Then when those players find out that they can't use the stuff they thought they were buying when they got the character they will get pissed off and blame the game.

And what kind of stuff would they discover they couldn't use on their account?

Anything from booster packs their account didn't already have unlocked.

Anything of the extra goodies from the various Editions that have released over the years.

Anything that needs to be unlocked by Vet Rewards.

Characters that have been sideswitched but the buyers account hasn't bought Going Rogue yet.

Anything Incarnate that requires the purchase of Going Rogue.

And what happens after they get pissed? Some will just quit, but there will be others that complain and get their account banned for RMT transactions.

But they won't just ban that dummy. They'll ban every account that the RMT site had transactions with thru the Master Account they were using.

This game has less than 100k customers. NCSoft can't afford to cancel subscriptions like that. They also can't afford to piss off people like that because those pissed off people will never take responsibility for their own actions. They will blame NCSoft and twist what happened to make themselves to be the victims and they'll drive away potential customers with their BS.

Beginning in Issue 13, base rent will be calculated based on the number and type of items placed in a base. Plot size and security/hidden status no longer have any effect on rent. Please note that Items of Power no longer provide Upkeep bonuses under this new system.

    Storage Bins 100 prestige each
    Auto-Doc / Tree of Wonders 100 prestige
Combat Logs / Contemplation Charts 100 prestige
    Robo-Surgery / Spirit Signal 100 prestige
Advanced Worktable / Advanced Forge 100 prestige
Expert Worktable / Expert Forge 100 prestige
Robotic Fabricator / Flames of Hephaestus 100 prestige
Radiation Emulator / Enchanting Crucible 100 prestige
Linear Accelerator / Arcane Crucible 200 prestige

Some people get tired of doing the exact same missions over and over and over and over again. You don't have to do the missions back to back to get sick of being told to get the PLOT Device from so and so.

The never ending contacts have a finite number of missions to choose from.

    server status

Not really. As Claws pointed out it's the number of dots that matter.

    1 = light load
    2 = medium load
    3 = heavy load

the color really isn't relevant except on the rare occasions when a server is greyed out.

You have my sympathy on the color issue.

The only problem I see wrong with black and white is that while it may make it easier for you to see them how will other people know what they mean?

People that aren't colourblind have grown up knowing that green means safe/go, Yellow means caution, and Red is a warning. They don't need to be told what they mean.

I'd much rather see them drop the colours/dots and replace them with words like

    Light load
    Medium Load
    Heavy Load

  17. Am I the only person that uses this craftable temp power to keep from getting killed by ambushes that start to overwhelm me and to get to a position where I can pick them off?

    Ethereal Shift Self Intangible

You can shift yourself into the Ethereal Plane. Although you do not become completely invisible, you are translucent and hard to see. You are intangible, and cannot affect or be affected by those in normal space. Once activated, you will remain shifted for 30 seconds. You cannot rest on the Ethereal Plane. You may use this ability five times.

Sure I have to replenish it a lot in Praetoria but they aren't hard to replace.

Instead of getting yourself all frustrated try asking if one of your SGmates can spare a few minutes to show you around the base.

If they refuse to help out a new member with that simple request then they are a bunch of jerks and you are better off finding a new SG. However if you can't ask for a simple tour of the base then the problem isn't with the base design.

I hope it works out but judging from what the writers have done in the past I have my worries.

First it was professional wrestling and now a cooking show. Did SyFy at least focus on how to make Klingon quisine? No! It's Marcel from Top Chef. I have so many fond memories of watching great Sci-fi on that channel and it hurts to watch it's soul get murdered piece by piece.

Having a girlfriend that he can see and talk to but never touch isn't messing with him? Especially when he knows Choe and Scott are bumping uglies. Rush and whats her name have the maturity to handle it, but can the same be said for Eli and Gin?

While I didn't dislike the episode, I think too much time had passed between the girls dying and their consciousnesses showing up to be believable. I liked the storyline involving Greer. He's finally getting the respect he deserves from some of the civilians.

You could ask for a tour.

"Hi everyone! Thanks for letting me join the SG. I see the base is huge. Could someone show me around so I know where everything is and don't get lost?"

99% of the basebuilders love showing off their bases, especially the larger ones. Nothing impresses new players like seeing how creative people are building their bases and inspires them to start their own personal bases so they can exercise their own imaginations.
