Sgu 3/28
Greer has always been my second favorite character on SGU. The first has to be Rush. I attribute Eli's and Rush's girlfriends appearing now rather than earlier due to either Chloe doing some weird alien thing or extended problems due to the Communication Stones not working properly. Had a scientist hack the communication program and might have messed up a few things like activate the emergency preservation device or something like that.
When Gin first appeared, I thought it would be another "Lets mess with Eli" episode as in have a dead girlfriend appear, then get rid of her at the end of the episode.

I was happy with the episode. There is no telling how the communication stones really work so it's perfectly reasonable that the two would appear the first time that the stones were unable to communicate with each other.
On the other hand I didn't like the Greer subplot. I mean I did like it but it moved too slowly in some parts, too quickly in others and didn't really seem to have a reason to be there. I suspect that the writers came up with the River Song story idea but couldn't come up with a way to fill out the entire episode so they came up with a subplot that would neither hinder nor advance the primary story arc.

Thats why I put temporary in quotes. Although it would be cruel, I would think it funny if when Rush is 60 that he finally solves the problem. Chances are that they will meet the all-powerful aliens that were referenced early in the season that fixes everything in the Series Finale.

Eli and Gin appear to be highly intellectual people so while not being able to touch is a major inconvience, they can still have a decent relationship. Being able to talk and see your dead girlfriend is better than meeting your dead girlfriend and having her die again. Besides it is only "temporary" so they believe it to be fixed soon.

The biggest problem to a resolution is that the series was completely finished filming for the season when they heard they were canceled. And I haven't heard of any reshoots for the final episode. So if they weren't planning on wrapping up that plot line by the end of this season then it's not getting wrapped up.

I heard that if the show is in jeopardy, then they make the season finale to be able to fill in as the series finale. Quite a few of SG-1's season finale could have ended up as Series Finale since they weren't cliffhangers. Of course, not all shows follow this policy.

Here is the Syfy press release for the season finale.
The final season culminates with a dramatic conclusion for the fate of the Destiny crew, who face a difficult crossroads when they realize the time has come for them to take a risky stand ... or they will be left adrift forever." |

You know when i was watching that episode the main thing i was thinking is how lucky eli could be. I mean he has crushed on chloe forever, and is in love with Gin, he could have nailed chloe without cheating on Gin, technically.

Gin: Oh Eli!
Eli: Oh Gin!
Chloe: ELI! WHAT THE HELL?!?
ELi: CHLOE!?! CHANGE BACK! CHANGE BACK!
And I was thinking how funny it would have been if Eli was nailing Gin and she switched conscioussness with either Chloe or Whatshername mid hump.

Okay so I finally watched it yesterday (Sat.) and, like others, thought it was a good/decent episode.
Anyone think there will be any repercussion on Greer: ie. getting an infection; of course it will be an 'alien' type of infection and he could die but then somehow he gets cured.....*shrugs* could happen and I wouldn't be surprised.
I like Greer about the most in the show so hopefully nothing happens to him.
Also never knew that the one scientist guy (who had to have the surgery), was 'with' that other girl (forgot name).

Two dead girlfriends come back to life in this episode. Has to have one of the creepiest and happiest endings for an episode that I have seen. Unfortunately, the communication stones are back in business and Telford is back.
