I had a character based on GLaDOS, with a note something along the lines of "Invite me and there will be cake". I did get a couple invites asking for cake. The cake, of course, was a lie.

Quote:Actually, I believe the devs have said that even if you go through the Resistance storyline, you'll have the ability to become either a Hero or a Villain by the end.So you're saying that Going Rogue will have the Resistance be the side that will turn people evil, and Tyrant turn Villains good. You say this even though (as Golden Girl will tell us...repeatedly) the devs have stated that Resistance=Hero and Praetor=Villain?

Quote:That's just it; Calvin doesn't care what Cole's empire has been doings, and in fact if they gave him his wife back, he'd probably be a Loyalist. He just wants the hot, super-powered tail. There's also the little matter of what that empire has been doing
No, freedom is anarchy. -
There were a LOT of Peacebringer "Angels" before power customization was put in. Now, just about any power can be white, but before then, it was all Peacebringers.

Quote:Actually...No, that's avoid, not fear. Fear = mob stands in place cowering, avoid = mob tries to get the hell out of there
Fear: The critter leaves the area, but doesn't mind coming back
Avoid: The critter leaves the area and tries to stay away
TERRORIZE: The target cowers and can only act at most once every 5 seconds.
Terrorize is the effect placed in the players' "Fear" powers. -

I found an alt that hadn't been used since before we could shut out spam emails... I was amused by how far the RMT prices had dropped

Okay, what if I'm [awesome] - [kindness to strangers]?

He's a love-crazed fanatic who will stop at nothing to get his wife back.
She's a nigh-immortal psychic in possession of another woman's body.
They fight... well, not exactly "crime", but they fight! -
Quote:Is the 'funny' the Yin for his whiny Yang?Heh. Yeah, they do. There's one particular poster who is known for it.
...
His stories about PuGs are amusing sometimes, whether he is or isn't the first one in the story to be a jerk.
What if I am awesome? -

It also varies by AV, because some have more HP than others, and some have +Max HP powers.
For example, Reichsman is an AV as far as the game is concerned (though the targeting window tries to tell you otherwise), but his HP is far and above any other AV in the game. -
Sleeping during the TF doesn't count

Quote:Both of those ideas are essentially the same thing, except the second idea restricts the texture to the 'standard' cape. What I'm thinking is having each badge unlock a new cape style that would be identical to the existing standard capes, only with a large untintable badge symbol in the middle, with some exceptions - it wouldn't work on the Scarf cape, for instance.
A simpler way to do it would be to just have each badge unlock a new pattern for the standard capes - it'd be shaped as the usual rectangle, with a two-color pattern version of the badge. While the first way of doing it is only something I suspect is possible, this version is one I know is possible. -

Your team search flag is reset to "Not Looking" when you log in. Your search comment is maintained across sessions. It also resets when you quit a team. Assuming the player understands how the flag system works, this is a perfectly reasonable explanation. Either they don't realize it resets, or they simply forget.

Quote:DP doesn't really perform badly... For example, just comparing DP in Lethal mode to Energy Blast:DP lacks damage to the point its like trying to use a tooth pick to dig through a brick wall.
I can only hope demon summoning does not perform as badly.
DP does about 28% less damage on average than Energy Blast (if you include the snipe and nuke, the two highest-damaging attacks in Energy Blast), but it also recharges about 50% faster (including EB's nuke). If you remove Sniper Blast, Nova, and Hail of Bullets (the outliers in their respective sets), then DP does about 6% more damage on average than EB, but recharges about 20% slower.
And those are just damage/recharge comparisons. Standard rounds do knockback (like Energy Blast, though not so extreme), -defense (like Assault Rifle), and Suppressive Fire is a mag 3 stun. Cryogenic rounds replace the KB and -def with -spd/-rech and change the damage type from Lethal to Lethal/Cold. Chemical rounds have -damage and deal Lethal/Toxic. Incendiary rounds are Lethal/Fire, and add a fire DoT in place of the KB/-def. And all three special ammunition changes the stun to a hold in Suppressive Fire. -
Quote:Yes, robots are the real problem for psionic users. Fortunately, most (all?) robots are weak to smashing, and every psionic-dealing set except Illusion Control has smashing damage in a power or two. (Plus, you can get smashing damage from pool power attacks)That robot Psi resist is the key to why it is so tough on a Psi user in the late game.
It's more than CoS not having "resist out their wazoo to Lethal"... CoS have negative resistance to Lethal. -

Quote:The Fir Bolg (People of Bolg) and Tuatha Dé Danann (Peoples of the goddess Danu) are two races in Irish mythology. In surviving text (which date to after Ireland became Christian), they're depicted as mortal kingdoms, but there are hints that in the mythology previous to Christianity's adoption, they were supernatural, including dieties. For example, Bolg is essentially the neolithinc version of Zeus. Now they might have other non Greek/Roman mythology in the game, and I jsut haven't noticed it yet
Sreng/Streng (a boss in CoH) was a champion of the Fir Bolg. Eochaid mac Eirc (see: Eochai; a Fir Bolg GM) was their king. Bres (a Tuatha boss in CoH) was the king of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
Short answer: Yes, there is non greco-roman mythology in the game.
