  1. After reading about all the horror stories in the other thread, I feel pretty lucky. While Statesman took nearly 4 hours to complete, the rest have been surprisingly smooth.

    The second week, I ended up on a Master of Kahn where we lost our tank in the first mission. We decided to go on and see what happens with just 7 of us and I would tank with my brute. I was a little nervous as it was my first Kahn (and I had heard the horror stories), but, I hadn't dropped 2 billion inf into that toon for nothing. We did fine and finished without any troubles.

    Lady Grey was the same story. By the second mission we were down to 3 people, I took over tanking (on my brute again) and we sent the Honoree packing. And yesterday, I joined a team for a speed Sister Psyche and have never felt so unnecessary as a brute/tank before. There were only 5 of us but they cut through those mobs like a hot knife through butter and we finished in just over an hour.
  2. To be honest I've had altitis since day one. Only for me, I tire of them at lvl 20-25, again at about 32-35, and then again at around 43-47. I still only have 4 50's and I only ever use one of them but I have gotten much better than I used to be (took well over a year to get my first 50). As other people have said, don't delete your toons until you absolutely need the slot. Also, once I hit one of the humps I only use that toon for teaming. If I want to solo I have my vast army of alts.

  6. I went to Wentworths to get some IOs and noticed that we now have the option to buy multiple enhancements kinda like how it was for salvage pre-i17. The only problem is that when I clicked "get" after my purchase, I only received one enhancement and the others seem to have disappeared. I tried it again to see if I was actually buying more than one and the same thing happened again. It charged me for 3, said I had three in the "bought" tab but all but one disappeared when I hit the "get" button. Am I doing something wrong here?

    IO First-Timer

    So, I've been trying to "Frankenslot" my DP blaster using that guide and so far I've been very pleased with the results. However, I do want to get some feedback and see if I'm on the right track before I burn one of my respecs. I also didn't realize that the Gladiator's Armor +3% defense IO was so expensive, so I decided to sell the one that I've got instead of slotting it.

    To be honest, I do exemplar a bit on my E^3 toon but I don't often have a reason to go below 30 (mostly for task forces). I don't exemplar as much on my DP toon and when I do it's almost never below 30 either.

    Thanks for the advice. I'm going to read that guide and see what I can do.

    My main goals for the first build was Ranged Defense and End-sapping, the rest of the numbers were just a bonus. As for my budget; well, I've been playing for over a year and haven't bought anything more expensive than level 50 SOs, so I have a little over a billion and a half influence to blow on IOs and recipes, I also have a few of them sitting in Wentworths waiting to be used/sold.

    If there are any more suggestions/opinions I'd really appreciate them as well!

    I decided to finally try out some invention sets on a couple characters but I feel completely lost... I've been playing around with 2 different blaster builds in Mids for a couple weeks now and was hoping to get some feedback. The first is an Elec/Elec/Elec that I really use as a jack of all trades type of character; He can blast from afar, blap if the baddies close in, and control through end-sappage on teams. I've had a lot of success with him with plain SOs but I felt that it's time to get over my fear of the Invention System.

    My second blaster is a DP/NRG blaster that has been lots of fun, but he has this tendency to face-plant a lot.     I think I've seen you recruiting before! Brilliant recruiting strategy btw. Nothing is more frustrating than endlessly waiting for some magic AT that will overcome the team's lack of strategy/imagination.
  15. I'd like to have the option to have my ranged powers be shot from a gun, wand or other device. I'd love to run around with an ice gun, sonic ray or high tech flamethrower. I know that dual pistols has an ice option but I'd like to see it expanded. I want to be able to use the tricorder animation on my grav/kin controller

  17. My favorite thing about City of Heroes is the ability to live out my childhood dreams of one day being a superhero... Well, that and the ability to fly. When I have a bad day at work I sometimes log onto my favorite blaster when I get home and just soar the skies of Paragon City. There is something very soothing about weaving between the skyscrapers of Steel Canyon and watching all NPC traffic flow beneath you.

    My least favorite thing about City of Heroes is the lack of ethnic diversity in the NPCs, enemies and at character creation. Personally I would like to see some Asian Hero and Villain NPC groups that do NOT study martial arts or wear peasant hats. I would also like to be able to make an ethnic toon without having to play with the scales for 20 minutes. Although I do appreciate that I can actually make ethnic toons at all; many games simply forget about us.

  19. I started playing COH back at the end of March, however today when I logged onto my new lowbie villain and received the Trustworthy badge but none of the vet rewards associated with it. I'm fairly certain I'm not supposed to receive this badge for another 5 weeks. Will this affect my 3 month Vet rewards when I actually do get to the 3 month mark? Should I petition this in-game?

  20. I wanted to make a new tank and really like the idea of a WP/EM build. Due to a hectic schedule I am usually on at random, odd times and therefore end up soloing most of the time (hence the lack of taunt until level 50). Also, I know many people will say to take Hurdle instead of Swift, however, I like Swift as Hurdle is of little use indoors.
