Quote:Gratz on the completely un-needed rudeness. For pete's sake will you give it a rest already. Software can't cause your machine to overheat unless there is a pre-existing cooling problem. A properly cooled computer will never overheat, even when running a game.
So despite all the tests you've supposedly run and Geek Squad incompetence the fact your machine is overheating clearly means there is a problem with the machine, not the game.
While I am not experiencing the over-heating issue... a program CAN indeed cause your system to over heat. Instead of using junk science as your backing for your hostile opinion; open your mind... do some research.. and learn that not everything is so black and white. -
For 3 years I played the same 2-3 toons... they have all the anniversary badges. More recently I have developed a severe case of altitis .. and sadly they will never get the 1,2,3,4, and 5 year badges
I would love if anniversary badges were globally linked. -
I think it has something to do with the number 7. Anyone remember Issue 7? Issue 7 is what caused me to let my account lapse for months... talk about BUGGY!
Anyways.. I returned and have been pretty much happy ever since. So happy in fact... last month I bought a new computer... upgraded the RAM and the vid card. I have played fine up until Issue 17.. now.. LOL!!!
I have turned my graphics to the lowest setting possible and yet.....
I mapserv constantly
Rubberband like it is my inherent power
So I did everything I should do.. rebooted modem.. rebooted computer. Called tech support at my cable company. Got a new router.
guess what.. everything on my end is fine
And No I won't be posting a hijack this or whatever else tech support tells me to do here. I KNOW it is not on my end. It's not just me. I was on a team of 8 last night and after an hour of rubberbanding... mapservs etc.. we all quit.
So I know you are aware of this "bug" .. and have not put in any tech support issues/reports etc. but I do have a bug I would like to report:
Did Lusca today. Everything went fine until we got to his head. transfusion/Transference... nothing was "casting" off him even though combat log said otherwise. So we all dual boxed.. got toons with pets (stormies etc)... and finally killed the head.
In closing.. Fix the game... seriously.. fix it!
I play CoX for:
Farming
Badging
Hanging Out With Friends
Base Editing
The Market
Right now I am stuck.. base editing and socializing... 2/5... I don't care how ya state it.. that's a FAILING grade. -
I rarely voice my opinion, BUT...
I actually am 100% totally against goodies being at cons only.
And here's why -
The people who attend these cons get upset because these items can be purchased online etc.. so what? You think just because I can't take days off of work.. spend hundreds (thousands) of dollars to go to a conference that makes me less of a fan or player? Why should I be penalized because I can't afford to go to a con, but will gladly give my $10 to a game I have supported for 5 years? Does that really seem fair to the community as a whole?
Sorry this is just a huge sore spot for me... You talk about the haves and have nots; well unfortunately some of us have to work to pay our bills... some of us can't afford to spend hundred upon hundreds of dollars to go to a con.
So NO I don't think cons should offer exclusive items that cannot be purchased. Getting them FREE for attending a con is your reward... as well as getting to meet the people behind the game. You have no idea how much some of us would love to be able to do this and simply just can't do it for financial reasons. So go ahead and get your FREE goodies, but just let the rest of us have to pay for them, but at least we can get them.

I am looking to trade approximately 2-2.5 billion influence for infamy. Just started out on red side and would like a piggy bank for my toons on Freedom server
If interested please send a tell to:
@Betty Bulldozer or
@Bulldozer Betty
Thanks! -
It doesn't bug me THAT much - I simply won't be doing the cape/aura mishes anymore. I play this game to have fun not to be forced into a mission. Up until the recent changes you did not have to complete the cape mission... so I always did the aura mish for those toons I wanted to have an aura. None of my toons use capes; so yes I view having to do a set of missions for something I won't use as a waste of my time.
Like I said: sore subject... I'll just skip auras on future toons. -
If they do anything with bases I hope it's add more objects. Stuff like this is not important in my opinion when it comes to bases.. actual base creation/tools are what need improved upon.
-
I find the new requirements (having to do cape mish to get aura mish) a complete waste of time. NONE of my toons have capes; yet I have to do the cape mish now to get their auras. It's the "improvements" like this that annoy me about this game; let's "fix" something like this instead of improving things like bases or fixing any of the myriad of bugs that have been around for several issues.
Bah sore subject with me. -
LOL Have you ever played a fire/kin? Your power choices (assault for one) are questionable and most of your slotting borders on insane.
I smell a troll............... -
Earth/Kin/Stone...
Great Control + Very Good Damage = Farming +2x8 solo without any problems. I Farm all my toons from 1-22 with my earth/kin. I have retired my fire/kin after 13 issues. I will warn you though (unlike most people who rave about particular builds) - my build is expensive!! 5 Purple Sets + 3 LOTG sets (with uniques), resistance/defense uniques, Miracle and Numina Uniques....
Not sure what sever you play on, but if you wanna see an Earth/Kin in action on Freedom - look me up - Bulldozer Betty.
I will not comment on plant as I have never had any desire to play a plant troller. -
I played a whopping 4 hours this dbl xp weekend and gained a total of 25 levels. All my levels were done on mish teams.
I don't mind AE it tends to keep the subpar players in one central location -
Or you could just recycle the cases yourself.
I'm not into giving perks to people who buy time cards since these are not available to those of us who pay online.
If your TRUE concern is the environment; put them in your recycling bin.
As far as the "It helps get attention. Not everyone pays attention to gift card type deals. " The game time cards aren't really an advertisement for the game... they are a means of buying time for the game. People who are looking for the time cards... probably already have the game. -
Meh don't sweat it. Tankers hate to be shown up in any way - - especially by "weak" defenders. I would have quit the team if you were kicked and started a new team with you...

Let me preface my statements by saying... I could care less who farms.
1. I've always noticed incompetent farmed players; Ya see there used to be this thing called farming way back when called Peregrine Island where new toons got farmed. Sure it took a lil work: Go to Steel Canyon... Get teleported to Green Line... Go to Talos... Get teleported to the ferry... go to PI... Get teleported to Portal Corp.
2. I have noticed more bad players lately... On the boards. They like to spew forth their opinions, whine, and whine some more. If you don't like AE... don't do it! If you don't like teaming with AE babies... don't!
3. AE has caused a lot of whining because "no one plays my arc!!!" I've played prolly 200-250 arcs... Even a few Dev choice ones and yeah... the writing is sub par. I think I have found 5-6 arcs which I thought "that's cool...that's funny...that's fun."
4. Removing XP from AE will cause a HUGE backlash. You can't promote something as one thing (a tool to go from 1-50) and then change your mind months later. I'm no DOOM screamer, but this game needs all the subs it can get! If people were GENUINELY more helpful to newer players... ya just might make new friends and oh I dunno help them come to love the game for EVERYTHING it has to offer.
5. I LOATHE AE in Atlas. I think the "earliest" zone to have AE should be Steels, and I think it should be tricky to get there... that way people have to learn to navigate around baddies for at least a 1/2 mile sprint.
6. As for any increase in bad players... NOTES are your friend! I note bad players and by that I mean incompetent ones, lazy ones, and ones who feel their way is the only way to play (Yeah I'm looking at you vet snobs).
*** Was on a team with my D3 and the 33 month vet tank got mad (he wasn't the leader) because he insisted on taunting them... running around a corner blah blah... well screw that... So I charged a group... threw down some dark love.... and he got mad because while I was off "being risky" he had to (GASP) use a green! He then proceeded to say "Yer our only healer you can't be off fighting while I have aggro!" I then pointed out that if he couldn't handle the aggro of 5-6 baddies and I could take 9-10... He should roll a dark defender if he could figure out how to play one! He of course then called me a n00b.... to which I pointed out my 1-5 year badges that went pretty with the other 200+ badgesHe got mad... quit the team... So I tanked on my defender. Point? Stupid, incompetent, ignorant, and lazy players are a part of this game... regardless of AE. I mean hello... healer?? LOL you wish!
-
Seriously? Well I can tell you that my cold/ice is not bothered by the word domination. She is after all a dominatrix... and everyone likes her Frosty Treats
(That's her name) -
I still have to sit on my thermal/fire defender name that I have had since the first set of proliferation... sigh. I will prolly try a traps/ defender... just not sure what yet for the secondary.
-
Seriously?? LOL!
Everyone else will state the reasons why the OP is misinformed (wrong).. I will just sit and giggle. -
If I do not have any friends online at the moment... I look at people's vet rewards and ask if they will help me out. If they are on a lower level toon I will usually say "Hey can you help me transfer x amount of inf.. I'll give you x amount for your time." I have NEVER had anyone say no or take my $ and run.
There is NO double standard or discrimination against solo players; the game is only limited by your choices. If you choose not to have friends, sg mates, etc... that is something you as a solo player have chosen. -
Gonna have to say NO to this one.... I spend hundreds of hours to attain 50 for a reason. In my eyes a lvl 50 is a TRUE hero; fully slotted, IO'ed, working on badges, etc.... I play my 50's more than any of my lowbies: radio mishes, tfs, regular missions, helping in sewers, etc etc...
And this would do NOTHING to stop farming. You don't need a lvl 50 to farm.
So to say it again: LEAVE MY 50s ALONE -
Simple solution - - don't take SB. Most of my /kins don't have SB. It's one power and not a MUST HAVE in my book for /kin trollers.
-
There is no question... just a few people seeking attention and whining they got caught breaking the rules... AGAIN!
-
What I want:
1. Ice Epic for Defenders
2. Fire Primary/Secondary for Defenders
3. AE taken out of Atlas
4. More Co Op stuff for heroes/villains (Hoping Rogue solves this).
5. New control primary... Not particular about what just want something new.
6. SOMETHING that offers better mez protection for def/controllers
(as you can prolly guess I play mainly defenders/trollers) -
Yeah we definitely need another unused area... I mean.. wait.. uh... never mind.
