Quote:I love everything about this post....Seriously, are you actively trying to give furs a bad name?
You know what? No. This will not stand. Like many groups political and social, furries need to do a better job of calling out the seriously dysfunctional people who wear the cloak, so on behalf of my fuzzy sisters and brothers and, for good measure, catgirls everywhere I say to you:
Stop attempting to reduce our apparent IQs to that of opinionated, belligerent lemons with rind palsy and find several fires to go die in.

*squee* It's sad how excited I am for this and Fitness, above the new content... stuff I've been wanting for like 6 years now!! LOL
Quote:.5% more Resistance than Loyalist? Curse you, Resistance!
Also, it's amazing how close that's cut.
Those slides are AMAZING, thanks for posting those! I can't believe how big this issue is, and it's not even "THE BIG ONE" or the expansion, wow!
My only complaint...
That new NPC costume is very disappointing though. Seriously, it looks just like all the other bulky metallic tech armor sets. Ho-hum. Can we have something else once in a while please? :-/ Not at all excited to get it, and that is sad. -
I think very few devs in this industry get this kind of fond reaction from the games they leave. I can't think of any devs outside of this game that I actually like and appreciate, let alone with the depths of friendliness I feel for the CoX devs. I hope BAB sees this video and knows how deeply he was appreciated.

Quote:Skull masks, Carnie pieces, and Tsoo masks & long skirts like the Tsoo sorcerers wear have been requested since before the hardsuits and Kheldians even existed. They should definitely be at the front of the queue. There are a few older parts I would really like to see make into the player's hands. The sash has been requested for years, and is at the fore front. Past that it is pretty much the PPD hard suit, and then the newer stuff.
I'm very disappointed in David's backpedalThat quote clearly says something very different.

Quote:This. Hugely, this.I'm well aware. However, his contributions to this game were invaluable. He understood and was connected to player culture like no other dev. He *got* us, listened to us, and interacted with us. Not having him contribute to the game as a dev is a huge loss for CoH, and it will never be the same.
And that is why I am sad. -
Here's the best ones I got...
The Salute
The mass monkey dance
KABOOM! -
Quote:Please please this. The yellow glowing pom-poms of doom need to be changed - even if it's just a "minimal fx" option.Hasten. If I could remove the glow from hasten I would be in happy town, it has never looked good on my DM toons...
And frankly, Widows and Soldiers need power customization. I'm fine with Kheldians staying purple and white, that's a species concept, and frankly I'm not looking forward to fire-engine red Khelds streaking through the sky anyway. But I haaaaaate the pink Psi fx, I've changed it on my actual psi characters and the fact that my Fortunata is stuck with them is really annoying.
Quote:Hope you don't intend to SK down anytime soon. And don't mind the people who use the Alpha Slot to bypass ED restriction outdamaging you.
I'd rather use all my powers more efficiently than worry about my numbers being bigger than yours. -
Quote:I hope you post your results or summation or whatever you're looking for here when you're done. I've really enjoyed reading the thread! All right, my paper is rapidly coming together, thanks in a large part to you guys' wonderful cooperation. Thank you all for the help and kind wishes!

You ain't kidding! Wooo I hate the Tarzan animation, I'm soooooo glad to see an alternate!!

That's.. weird. It was working yesterday, because I'm showing updates from then and levels and whatnot... I always just leave Glycerine open, I didn't even notice it was showing offline today.

Slightly off-topic, but last night I ran an ITF and while standing around the fountain leveling, I heard two of the Cimmoran NPCs commenting on the fact that I'd joined Vanguard, so maybe that organization was all right, and that they'd seen me out there fighting the Rikti horde, so they felt so safe.
It was a bit... jarring. -
You seriously somehow think that interacting with a small team of heroes on a task force translates to them interacting with more people than posting to the forums and answering the serious questions and concerns people have? Really?

Quote:Except seriously, by the time you swap characters and get to whatever zone it is, the bomb phase of the event is almost always over. The other 2 badges were pretty easy to get (one invasion in Galaxy and one in Steel, both heavily attended, got me the heavy and the general Rikti-killing one) the UXB badge is an absolute freaking pain.I don't think anything should be tied to killing Rikti Monkeys. It's too easy.
I'm happy with the badges and weapons as-is really. As others have said, there's ways to manufacture your own invasions pretty easily. Even the randomness of what zone it picks isn't as relevant now. Just make sure the character you want it on is Rogue or Vigilante before you run the LGTF. -
I would rather see it left tied to the invasions than tied to a TF or raid. At least the invasions aren't level gated.
-
Please, yes.
My one human-transitioning-to-Rikti character would really LIKE his sword. I've been swapping to him every time I see an invasion since I rolled him, and all he needs is the UXB badge, which it seems like I'm never going to get since by the time I swap and get to him the bomb phase is over, or the invasion took place in a completely out-of-the-way zone and no one's participating
We really need another Rikti invasion weekend at least!
PS: I vote AGAINST it being tied to a mothership raid badge. I've never done one and don't want to. Let's not tie a costume piece to RAID content, please? A "defeat 100 Rikti bosses" badge would be brilliant. -
Quote:That seems reasonable, given the "something big" coming in i20 and the way it's been blown out of proportion speculation-wiseCoX sales constituted 1/3 of their north america sales in 2009. It's less than in 2008 but that's because of AION. Still, seems like a pretty big chunk of change to give up on.
I have no idea what their new marketing strategy is, but "thrown in the towel" seems unlikely at the moment. Silence can be harmful when prolonged, but the term plausible deniability comes to mind. Maybe there are things in flux and don't want to say anything concrete till it settles down internally.
However, the prolonged silence and inattention to the forums is really hurting them with their long-time players, and I believe at this point that most CoX players are vets. That's not the demographic they really want to crap on. -
Female
I would say that I mainly enjoy hybrid/support type characters, rather than a specific AT. My breakdown according to my Titan Network page is Scrappers, then Controllers, Defenders and Dominators, but I believe that Controllers, Defenders and Dominators roll up into a hybrid/support character in my mind - which AT I choose really just depends on the 2 powersets I want to put together. I loathe Blasters and Tanks and won't play them.
Quote:3. Redside, blueside, purpleside, or any combination of the above?
I find that redside has a better quality of content, more detailed zones, easier access, more story-arcs... but I don't like what those arcs are about. "Teh ebilz" doesn't appeal to me, I don't enjoy kidnapping homeless people and feeding them to the Vahzilok.
Croatoa, easily my favorite zone in the game.
It's a very easy game to like. It's easy to play any character I want with a group of friends, from a newly rolled level 1 to my 50, on almost any content in the game. Customization is very important to me, and I love the fact that my characters look distinctly different from one another, as well as having access to many powersets. Also, dev attention and improvement to the game without invalidating all previous game content gives the game high marks.
I've been tabletop gaming since I was 12, which was... well, let's just say "decades" ago and leave it at that.
I played WoW for three years and quit, I've played LOTRO for three years and am in the process of quitting, due to changes made to the game which invalidate previous content, focus on end-game content, and the new free-to-play changes.
I've played The Sims, Elder Scrolls, Fate and Civilization in obsessive sort of ways, but haven't played many single-player games since I got into MMOs. I love the social interaction!
Since June 2004. I take breaks so this was not constant play, but this account is always available.
Quote:8. How many alts do you have, what is the average level range, and how many are level 50?
Quote:9. Do you bother with softcaps, set bonuses, and all that numerical stuff? What difficulty settings to you normally use?
My settings vary from character to character depending on level and AT, but I'd say my average difficulty setting is +0/x4 -
My husband was gotten into this brand-new MMO by a friend at work. When he tried to get me to play, I, who was an obsessive veteran of a MUD (The Final Challenge, which still runs!) and someone who jumped ship on EQ early when I saw it was totally possible to get lost there, told him that no, it was a terrible idea. I mean, I got so into my MUD that I was playing 5-8 hours a day, what would happen to me in a graphical setting? Nooooo thank you.
Well, long story short, I made an Emp/dark on his account and started playing her, and we got two of our best friends into the game too.
... then my husband had to buy himself a new account because I wanted to play my Emp/Dark all the time and all he wanted to do was make new characters and he was hogging all the slots, back when you couldn't buy more. Besides, I was making way better use of the account than he was, what with the playing and leveling and getting into an RP SG... yeah.
Here I still am! Took breaks when WoW came out (my gaming partner wanted to play that) and came back, and then LOTRO (he always wanted to play that) and came back. I think I'll probably always be here until they shut it down, nothing else has the draw or the staying power for me! -
Yup, I had the same problem - after seeing the above poster's comment, I told NoScript to temporarily allow all on NCsoft and Paypal's pages, and the transaction went through without a hitch.
Try using a different browser or telling whatever you have blocking scripts/popups to allow both of those pages and it seems like it will work. -
Yup, I went AFK in front of my mission door in Steel and came back pushed into the street about a half-block down. The civvies are back!

Defeat-alls in any blue cave, but especially the ones with the multi-layer room and the twisty room that goes under/over itself so the map never tells you how the heck to get in/out of it...
Defeat-alls in any Council underground map with the water room...
Defeat-alls in any office/lab map with more then 3 floors, because if some mob ran and wedged himself in a corner you have to go up and down all trying to figure out what floor you missed...
Defeat-alls or glowies in Oranbega.
Really, I'm not fond of defeat-alls to begin with, the choice of whether or not to clear the place should be up to me, but adding complicated maps with lots of crannies and hard-to-get-to places just makes the whole thing worse.
