Speaking of letting clones live, if you wait for the random NPC dialog after Leonard's arc, you may discover that one survives anyways: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Doppelgangers
-
Aw, Ajax killed my clone before I could see a choice about that... is it a whole 'nother dialog box? Because I did some work on his paragon wiki page, and that will need to be added.
-
In his letter, Ralph Valetti says that he was able to assume Ajax's identity because he always wore a helmet. However, in game, he is NOT wearing a helmet. Are we assuming he just ditched it when the truth came out, or what?

Seeing the title to this thread, I thought it was punctuated more like "Pizza bad, guys." I thought it would be a horror story relating to eating pizza while playing CoX.
Alas, no kids yet, but if I remember this thread several years from now, I'll be sure to let you know. -
Well, the balance would be taken care of if Castle/the powers guys went in, chose a select group of hybrid sets, and balanced those specifically...
But, barring that, maybe more power sets like DP, with changeable secondaries? Modifying a few of the existing powersets to do so might not be as far a stretch of the imagination. -
When I said that about ninja run and vet powers, I was responding to the response to "give us earlier travel powers." The response to that was "Ninja run is an early travel power," and I pointed out that it cost money.
The other options also take time and some work though, but yes, they are free. -

After that last mission, did you high five him?
I totally did. It was awesome. Super intense. -
Quote:You crazy man, you crazy.Anyway... six task forces on six different toons. I've never done that before, and I doubt I ever will again. I had a fun day though, and it probably counts as a fine celebration of six years in CoH, don'tcha think? ^_^
But yes, a fine celebration. My first 50 took almost 1000 hours to get to 50 (I did spend several months in the low 30s while I hung out in Siren's Call). -
Well, Ninja Run and level 6 travel powers are only for vets or people who buy extra stuff, which means you have to pay for early level travel either way.
Lol -
I remember a thread a LONG time ago about the CoX music... as I recall, some of it is is generic files in the public domain.
I once heard some CoX music in an "adult" movie. :O -
What's wrong with Trina?
Also, thanks for this post! -
My elec/dark stalker became a thugs/ poison???? mastermind. She had some pistol attacks, anenforcer, an arsonist, and a bruiser. I think it was poison, but it might have been thermal. Something greenish (I wasn't too close).

Quote:I just want you to know that you got CoX to stop freezing on the "Loading" bar for me. Thanks!Go here:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
Select your OS in the first box, Select "Integrated/Motherboard" in the second box, Select "Radeon 3200 Series" in the third box. Hit Go.
You should see the Catalyst 10.4 drivers available there.
Now if I could get the game to look right...
(I did, the ambient occlusion does weird things) -
The buff was still active, it was displaying in my bar the whole time. Another Day Job buff, the Monitor Duty one, was active, but ran out.
The missions were from Crimson and Unai Keman, a series of instanced combat missions. -
I had this problem as well, when I blindly clicked "Yes" on the update window. Mids messed up, took me back to the last version. I opened it again, and this time, I saw this message in the update notification: "DO NOT UPDATE USING THE MIDS PROGRAM! Go to cohtitan.com to download the new installer."
No idea why they would have us do that, but I'm sure there's a good reason. -
So... that was pretty awesome today, yeah? Yeah. Alright, cool.

According to the description for the Intern day job power (awarded for spending time in Portal Corp) I am supposed to get a large Inspiration at the completion of every mission. This did NOT happen. It appeared that I got a large Inspiration only after the completion of a SOLO mission, or the end of a CHAIN of missions. It definitely did not award one for every mission I completed.

Quote:I have a touch screen, and I wish this would happen.Translation: MMORPGABC123XYZPDQ: Do you ever see the game getting an upgrade in design and interface?
David... no... I just can't keep making fun of his name like this.. I'm out: Absolutely! In fact, we'll be taking advantage of new touch screen technology to change the interface entirely. Once it goes live you will be able to actually punch out the enemies yourself! Just touch your own monitor to direct where you want your attacks to go! However, anyone wishing to fully utilize this new interface will have to sign an itsy-bitsy waiver and disclaimer of liability form first... you know... for those people who run Scrappers and Brutes for a REASON. -
I just got back from a CoX hiatus, and had this issue. Waiting on a GM now.
I also filed a bug report, even though it's apparently a known issue, just in case.
The rent was paid, and I could enter, nothing was on, however. -

Quote:It's a cosmic overscaling that affects many dimensions, not just those of Paragon City. See?Yeah, speaking of that - has it ever been adequately explained why the citizenry of PC is so tall?? My 6'1" character is quite wee compared to the paperboy! any chance of a global re-scale?
-
I use it whenever... but I have a question: has anyone tried it with a mastermind? Someone I know suggested it around the time walk came out, don't know if they tried it. The idea is this: call all your henchmen, send them to attack the target, and walk up to the battle, all nonchalant and badass looking. Does this work, or are your pets dismissed for some reason?

Quote:I do hope the devs read this because there are a lot of good ideas in this thread. However, as far as your point, that better versions of the vet rewards are offered to everyone, I think a few things need to be taken into account. And Devs if any of you actually read this.. try creating a vet reward and then not turning right around and offering it, or better, to a 1 week old player.
Let's look at the Valkyrie wings: yes, they are pretty kickin'. But even though they are available to a new player on the first day, that new player has to pay an extra $10 or whatever for them. Vet reward wings are "free" in the sense that every player has to pay the same subscription fee for however many months. It's only natural that paying extra for something will get you better stuff (if you think the Valkyrie wings are better. Some don't. There are also no Demon style Valkyrie wings). It might also be good to bear in mind that the veteran wings were used more as a test for wings in general. Either way, as a veteran with wings, you still have access to two types of wing that no one else, even new players who buy the Valkyrie set, does when you create a character. Not to mention the fact that wing recipes are not the easiest things to get on a level 1 character, if you really want something that isn't angel/demon/valkyrie at creation.
But you don't have to anymore. Yes, things were rough, back in the day. Now they're not. As a veteran, you've earned the right to talk to new players like that. However, you're complaining about the fact that the veteran reward items are useless, and there are better ones available to everyone. Of course, if they're available to everyone, that means they are also available to you. If you want to make a new character, your life is much easier now. Cherish that, instead of complaining that the new kids these days have it so easy. Not to mention the fact that the veteran rewards, while perhaps useless to you, are in large part not entirely useless to everyone. No one is going to find every vet reward the coolest thing ever. Some people like some rewards, others like different rewards. That's the nature of this beast.
Quote:Maybe it is time to just end the system or at least revamp it so it actually seems like a reward.
I agree completely.
