I had this problem as well, when I blindly clicked "Yes" on the update window. Mids messed up, took me back to the last version. I opened it again, and this time, I saw this message in the update notification: "DO NOT UPDATE USING THE MIDS PROGRAM! Go to cohtitan.com to download the new installer."
No idea why they would have us do that, but I'm sure there's a good reason.
Because the internal Mids updater still points to the old place where Mids used to be hosted when it was maintained by Mids himself. Changing the stuff that references that is apparently non-trivial (not to mention needing to configure Titan to host the update stuff is non-trivial, too).

i have just tried cohtitan it did not work it made me abort about a quater of the the way through
If you are on Vista or Windows 7, Right click on the downloaded mids icon and "Run as Administrator"

nice work, now this is what I call a timely release 
I'll be sure to download it as soon as I get home. I think I've spent about the same amount of time in Mids as in game lol
