Mac Edition comes with: Exclusive in-game items - a Mission Teleporter Power, and the new Valkyrie themed costume set (available to both Heroes and Villains from level one). Yes it works for PCs as well.

Architect Edition comes with: Exclusive in-game items: Select between the Super Booster I: Cyborg pack and the Super Booster II: Magic pack.
  2. Yes, it's by serial code. The NCSoft store that's displayed in the US gives us an option to buy either the North American or EU code. I assume the reverse is true.

Now if you simply want to try the US trial it's easy enough for one of us to PM you a trial code.
  3. That can't be Ron, he still has his pants.
  4. I remember the quote from MIB, "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it."

A person has very real short term goals that monopolize their life. What am I going to have for dinner? Does <insert name here> like me? What's on TV tonight? Is my boss going to be impressed by my presentation? What's opening on Friday at the theater?

Very long term goals need the collective will of a society, of a government, of a nation. Or people wealthy enough to know what needs to be done. We went to the moon because we had an enemy, a competitor and once we won that race we've been phoning it in. The best thing that can happen is another space race. The Chinese want to get to a man to the moon within 10 years. Let's see if we can beat them there.

SpaceX unveiled plans for the Falcon X and XX that can lift 140 tons into orbit, slightly more than the old Saturn V. Yea, they only got one Falcon 9 off the ground so far but at least they have a plan.

Bigalow Aerospace, which bought the inflatable TransHab module from NASA, is skipping the 2/3rds scale test platform after their two successful 1/3 scale tests in orbit and is looking to launch and test a full scale inflatable test habitat. Each one is self contained with power, cooling, life support and is more than 20% the volume of the ISS yet only has a launch mass of 10 tons. It's big brother has more than twice the volume. They have designs clustering them together and adding a propulsion system to move it into a lunar or interplanetary trajectories.

A former NASA astronaut has developed an electric plasma drive that would provide serious thrust for interplanetary travel. Japan currently has a solar sail in interplanetary space now and they just proved that they can steer it.

And the US just canceled it's shuttle replacement after one partial test flight.

We as a society need to be motivated to do this. I'm all for a BIG lie about a catastrophic threat 25 years into the future that would require the long term investment to avert it.
  5. I love open worlds. I enjoy the freedom of exploring the world and if developers provide free style missions that you stumble upon instead of being guided to them then even better.

However some people need to be led from Point A to Point B. Running on rails gameplay. I believe it's best to support both styles of players, the goal oriented and the explorer.
  6. Play with my Nemesis Staff in Steel and seeing how far I can launch random mobs off the wall in front of Icon.

I have a Miss Enthropic, a word play on misanthrope and entropy. She's a Fire/Therm Corruptor.

The reason my main is called Father Xmas was because of the original, shorter character limit.

No, there were no reviews for Last Airbender before it was released. That's even worse than bad reviews, it meant the studio felt that there was no chance of any pre-release buzz being helped by the critics. All I was hoping for was that the studio execs simply didn't grok the premise.

    Boy was I wrong.
  9. They were working on the website this morning. Sounds like your smartphone's DNS server haven't been updated yet.
  10. For movies I would say a few months after it's out on DVD.

For games a couple of months.

If your name is River and carry a little blue diary, it would be much considerably longer.
  11. No, Andy Dick is in a class of loathesome all to himself.

Cera has a voice, or can do a voice, the simply screams lack of self confidence. And what is Scott Pilgrim's journey but a means to achieve the confidence that he's right for Ramona?

That may be true but man spaced flight is virtually extinct. In a year the US won't have the capacity to launch a man into orbit which leaves Russia and a fledgling China space program. SpaceX may have something in a couple of years but that's it.

Until we start to try to build bigger structures in space, we aren't going to be going anywhere, in any significant way, anytime soon.
  13. This is the kind of pointless news story we really don't need. An announcement that an announcement may be coming soon. It's like all the so and so may be cast in this movie or that. Perfectly valid for a site that needs stories to drive traffic but this isn't one of those.

I would love it if you could stick to confirmed news stories and not the speculation ones.

    Addon software?

It's more of a developers short cut, a way for animation, art, models and sound to be tweaked and tested without the need of rebuilding the various pigg files. Now the fact that someone discovered that ability, unless that was the folder structure way back in the original beta of the game, is intriguing.
  15. Or that 3DMark06 isn't a good test.

The GTX 470 has fewer texture units than the 8800GTS 512MB (running slower) but 3.5x more shader power and 2.3x maximum pixel throughput. Before shader performance became the bottleneck it was textures and older versions of 3DMark tend to weigh that more than shader performance. The 3DMarkVantage would show a greater difference but the real proof is in actual games.

    So...the Website

Well nearly all the instances of us.ncsoft.com are gone and the account links go to secure.ncsoft.com now instead of plaync.com so that should, knock on wood, fix the account access problems and US/Europe website problems.
  17. I use my Tier 1 all the time due to the recharge times on the rest of my attack powers, so I love this change.

Taste my Frozen Fists of Justice evil doer! Followed quickly by lesser and greater Ice Sword.
  18. Sadly it's the natural evolution of the game. All of those features were added to the original design.

The globals and markets bridge between game servers so having a separate server to tie all the game servers together makes sense from a design aspect.

The slots are tied to the store, since you can buy more slots and the store gets tied to the secure info like your credit card/debit card/paypal account, which is something you don't necessarily want tied in directly to the game server.

Still, once you purchase the slots, that info should really be stored over in your game account along with your applied booster/item/costume temp power codes.
  19. Ponyo is Miyazaki's take on The Little Mermaid, but as children, mixed with his strong pro-environment beliefs.
  20. Probably you need to install the .Net 2.0 framework. Link is on the CoHHelper page.

    Addon software?

It doesn't modify the client. The client was already designed to pull it's resources from the /data folder. All the map pack does it put files there to read.
  22. At least it sound like they are taking the roles seriously.
  23. Well there is only so many places where one can film that looks prehistoric in the world that still has access to modern amenities. Hawaii is probably to expensive. Next would be Australia and New Zealand.
  24. Yes, came out in 2006 in Japan, just coming out here dubbed from Disney now.
