Looks like they have a Bilbo for the Hobbit movies.
-
Well when they were first announced, the 768MB GTX 460 was $200 while the 1GB card was $230. Then ATI dropped it's prices across the board. Then the 768MB GTX 460 was dropped to $170-180 and now I'm seeing it at $160 and $200 for the 1GB card.
It's great for us when there's competition. I'm just hoping that AMD's Bulldozer CPU will close the performance gap with Intel. Problem is Intel is now one gen ahead of AMD and by the time these new AMD CPUs are out, Intel will already have their next gen out as well. -
This gets rediscovered every year by someone.
I think the first time someone posted about it was back in 2005 or 2006.
Each 826 National store is themed differently.
826 Valencia is a Pirate Supply Store.
826 LA is the Echo Park Time Travel Mart.
826 Chicago is The Boring Store (actually a spy store).
826 Seattle is the Greenwood Space Travel Supply Company.
826 Michigan is the Liberty Street Robot Repair and Supply.
826 Boston is the Greater Boston Bigfoot Research Institute.
Not all of them are as elaborate as the Brooklyn store (826 NYC). -
Sorry about that, it's just that I get enough damn political punditry turning on the radio or flicking over to any of the 24 hour news channels for more than enough lifetimes. When I sit down to watch TV, especially in a show I don't expect it, I get annoyed.
Also being 2 weeks before the election, you can't avoid the inevitable "why the other candidate is evil so vote for me" commercials. Only the less popular cable channels seem free of them. I was hoping CW on a Friday night, even though it's a broadcast channel, had poor enough ratings so nobody would bother spending their ad money there.
Boy was I wrong.
Back to the episode. Well they have to make some progress, there aren't that many episodes left. I also think that's a random storage area and that confetti is random office party supplies (think something like New Years).
Someday I would like someone else who is "powered" to be featured for more than 10 minutes a year.
I was actually hoping Clark would have made some comment about Lois flying away while he's still grounded. Honestly, after last week when he saw the future, heck ever since he tried to practice with his cousin he should be practicing. -
Getting back to the episode.
Rush is really swinging back to evil with what he did to Chloe. I can honestly believe that after being stranded on a planet, kidnapped by aliens and had an implant cut out of him by Chloe that he's a little hesitant in sharing his discovery with Young or anyone else on the science team. -
Now they need to do it with the WNBA so the women of Marvel gets represented.
-
And as a side note, not really liking the caricature politics in my super hero dramas. So for we have dim Cat with her "liberals are evil" quips, an evil radio talk show host and Ollie's armchair bloggers rant. At least Ollie was in character.
I know the CW demographic skews young and teens and 20s someones are a lot more liberal ideal than conservative but enough with the jabs already. -

Sorry, I thought this thread was going to be about the space colonies located at L4 from Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket.
Poor Al, he's going to be found in a clocktower and a high power rifle when he gets older. -
Quote:That sounds about right for me as well (CompuAdd). Mine was a 12MHz 80286 with 1MB of 0 wait state memory (a big thing at the time), I think this was 1988-1989. Hercules monochrome graphics card and 12" monitor, a 20MB hard drive and I think I added a first gen SoundBlaster that had SCSI support for the CD-ROM drive I added and I also got a Logitech mouse which came with it's own adapter card. It was also north of $2000 but less the $3000.Can't access the original link from work because the site is flagged as "Adult Entertainment"(?) but following on SerialBegger's post, my first PC was a CompuAdd.
I think bought it in 1991 or 1992 and it cost about $2500 or $2700. It was state of the art at the time in that it had both 5-1/8" and 3-1/4" floppy drives. I wish I could remember what processor it had in it. I think it was better than an 8486 though, maybe 1 meg. I think it had either a 40 or 80 meg hard drive (1/4000th the memory of my current laptop) -
Quote:Yes, PCIe V2.0 is backwards compatible.Okay, upgrading slowly but surely. Have a 450 watt power supply and a free PCI Express x16 slot. Are the newer cards backwards compatible? And, if not, what's the best card to get? Posi's original suggestion of the 9800? Or is there something cheaper? Kinda want to stick to NVidia, too.
The 9800GT was for minimum Ultra Mode settings.
The important part of a power supply spec is how many watts can you get at 12 volts, in total. If it's not listing on the power supply, it should list the number of amps. It gets sticky if your power supply has multiple +12 volt rails but doesn't list the combine maximum wattage at 12 volts.
Sticking with nVidia can be a bit problematic because with their current crop you have the GT 430 which isn't very powerful (65% the performance of a 9800GT), the GTS 450 which is a bit over 30% faster than the 9800GT and the GTX 460 which is 95 to 105% faster than the 9800GT depending on the flavor, 768MB or 1GB.
The GTX 460, either flavor, requires two 6-pin PCIe power connectors, the GTS 450 only needs one. -
The long and the short of it.
The 6850 is positioned to compete better with the GTX 460 than the older 5830. It's faster than the older 5830 (but slower than the 5850) but priced around $180.
The 6870 is faster yet less expensive than the 5850 (before the rebates and sales we will see to flush the 5850 inventory). While the GTX 470 is still a bit faster, the 6870 like the 5850 still uses around 80 watts less power.
Both cards close the performance gap with nVidia while priced aggressively enough to make them attractive. Of course the scuttlebutt is nVidia will be slashing prices on the 460 and 470 again, soon. We'll see.
Also there seemed to have been a problem in the 5xxx series filtering algorithm that's been fixed on the 6xxx, the reviews make a point about it. I wonder if that was the cause of some of the "spots" in UM that people have been reporting.
Reviews of the 6850 and 6870 on the majority of the various tech review sites. -
I just hope the union pat themselves on the back for driving out one of the biggest movie franchises ever to be shot in NZ. Good job.
Reminds me of the French and their strike over raising the retirement age from 60 to 62. I'm just waiting for their unintentional blow back from their actions beyond fuel shortages and garbage piling up. -
My bad. I wonder why?
Let's blame Comcast.
I will be annoyed if this spills over to USA shows like Burn Notice. -
Don't know about you but Chuck, Chase and SGU shows up on Hulu fine (well they do hold SGU for a week but The CW also holds their shows up for a week).
You better hurry up if you want to catch the Chase 1st episode, expires in 4 days. -
I thought the sticky for this is over on the Tech board.

Yes, everyone would but The Incredibles is Brad Bird's baby and until he gets around to do another one or gives Pixar permission to do another one, all we can do is wish. It's just the way Pixar rolls.
-
True, the first season did have all the baby drama, Will's marriage/divorce and the courting of Emma plus the stated purpose of getting to regionals with this hodgepodge group of students.
This season the success went to the show's head. More episodic, less connective. Minor drama with the Artie/Tina breakup and Quinn's return and Santana's demotion. They need to get back to a season long story and build episodes around it.
It went from fun quirky to commercial success. Lets pump out some more music for iTunes and the next CD. -
For a round the world race there has to be a Mach 5 homage somewhere in this movie. A car with buzz saws or jump jacks.
-
Congratulations, you've won the hype award!

Just to interject here, has anyone check to see if vamps and spirts spawn often enough that those badges are attainable? Didn't do the event last year but the year before it was a problem.

I remembered when I first saw "Pets" on the team window during the CoV beta. I was running an Ill/Kin controller so I thought including my teammates as "Pets" seemed humorously appropriate.
-
Well maybe this is Abin Sur's power battery and it'll eventually morph into something more "Earthy".
-
You mean like the one pictured in the thread about the power battery from this link.
