  1. Father Xmas

    Perma Hasten

    Over 100% (105% I think) with 3, +0 SOs in recharge.
  2. Again, hard drives use less than 10 watts worse case so sticking three on a single cable is fine.

I had problems with a PATA hard drive and an optical drive sharing the same data cable.

I never had problems with multiple drives on a single cable.
  3. I remember, a long, long time ago, someone was very clever using the various bone armor pieces and details along with some of the robot forearm pieces colored white while the main body of the character was clad in black to do a "Skeletor" like look.

That's the neat thing about the costume designer. Some clever player comes up with a way to repurpose some of the costume items through coloring or adding details and pull off a cool an unique look.
  4. No, not him last time checked.

Steve Landesberg died at 65 due to cancer a few days ago.

I think he was my favorite character on that series. Very laid back. self assured with a wicked sense of humor.

    He will be missed.
  5. Because somebody assumed that all films advertised as being about mistaken identities are comedies.

After all North by Northwest and Charade were such a laugh riots.

More than likely they wanted those two just to show up so they can get their picture taken with them and maybe Brad Pitt.
  6. Doctor Who 2010 Xmas Special will air the same day as in the UK and probably unedited for time on BBC America. Also season 6 may follow suit.
  7. Bridgers were players who before the game implemented it's "Super Sidekicking" system were needed on a team to allow very low level characters to team with a group of high level players, taking advantage of how the old sidekicking system worked and the rules that governed who on the team got XP. No longer relevant.

A site that contains a lot of good info about the game is ParagonWiki. Remember ParagonWiki is your friend.

    And welcome to the game.

Exactly. Thought I included an eyeroll in my original post. Oh well, here then.

They had another super power show pilot called Three Inches about a slacker played by James "I'm not Spike anymore" Marsters who can move any object with his mind, but only 3 inches. He teams up with other people with similar seemingly unimpressive powers. It is meant to be strange and offbeat.

Seems like they are trying for more action than odd.
  9. Nice modular power supply. Got good reviews at both JonnyGURU and Hardware Secrets.

The data cables for SATA are per device. That's the reason there are so many SATA ports on motherboards.

Case fans draw very little power relative to just about everything else in the case, even the ones that light up. We are talking less than 10 watts each, more like less than 5 watts each for the unlit kind, less than the average power draw of the hard drives or optical drives that normally used the MOLEX connectors in the past.

    Lost game =/

What you are thinking of has been dismissed by a number of sources. Like the belief that "call a spade a spade" or "the pot calling the kettle black" are racial in nature. But popular belief or a good story sadly has a tendency to crowd out fact.
  11. What I found interesting listening to the primary (there are four) commentary track on the DVD, with was Edgar Wright, Michael Bacall and Bryon Lee O'Malley, is how much cross pollination occurred between the comic and the screenplay for the movie.

IIRC the first attempt of the screenplay was after book 2 was finished and book 3 was fleshed out and the rest outlined. Eventually lines developed by Wright and Bacall were included in the later books while O'Malley provided a few bits of better dialog to the screenplay. There was about a four year gap between the time Michael Bacall was hired for the screen play and the start of production. It's one reason why the first parts of the movie follow the books while the later parts of the movie diverge.
  12. Without you and BABs who is going to give us the inside dope? Who is going to reassure us that some horrible bug is actually being worked on or why something works the way it does or why something can't be implemented?

I'm sorry to see you go. You were more of a friend to the community than some of the CS mouthpieces who simply tow the company line. You and the info you provided will be sorely missed.

    /em salute
  13. I know, I was just providing a link to an article talking about it as well as informing those who are unaware that it's a series of very short episodes just like The Guild or a couple dozen other web series out there as oppose to a full hour or 1/2 hour series that simply didn't get aired.

There seems that the web series route is being taken by a number of small independent production companies to pitch TV series ideas to the majors. There was some post apocalyptic one shown in it's entirety one late night on SyFy a few months back. They still advertise the DVD for it between their anime episodes every so often which probably means Manga Entertainment is it's, the DVD, distributor.
  14. It's a day in the life of a group of high school girls comic. Similar to Azumanga Daioh in structure (it's manga was also a 4 panel comic) but drawn in a style that makes most of the characters look 9 years old to me as oppose to the "classic" anime/manga style. I was seriously put off by the whole drawn out eating of the pastry skit because I thought they were all were still in elementary school. It gets a lot funnier as the series goes on. The series also pokes fun not only at other anime/manga but MMOs, cosplaying, and other otaku/gamer topics.

One notable trivia about this series is that the main character is voiced by the same actress (I'm talking both the Japanese and English VA) who played as Haruhi from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Several others VAs from Haruri pop in for cameos which makes the jokes and references about Haruhi even more funny.
  15. Yep, their dropping like flies.

Splat! Looks like we're going to need another Peter/Mary Jane/Spidey.
  16. What, you just noticed what happened to ever single niche cable channel that existed 10-15 years ago are hollowed out husks of what they were are are now all about reality shows or scripted shows that have little to do with their original niche content?

There was a time friends of mine jokingly called the History Channel the Nazi Channel due to all the WW II documentaries about Germany and the war. Nearly all of that content is now gone, spun off onto the Military Channel which doesn't even get an HD version on my cable system.

Disney cartoons are now on Disney XD or some other Disney derivative. Same with toons on Nick or Cartoon Network (is Boomerang still around?).

Bravo use to have Opera and Broadway musicals (I watched the original cast version of Sweeney Todd on it), now it's thick with reality TV.

MTV use to have music videos 24/7 with older music spun off onto VH1, now it's reality shows with a few music videos on at 4am.

Country Music Television use to be the country music equivalent of MTV, last time I watched it they had pimp my semi-cab (which was kind of neat).

What happen is cable companies told the owners of those channels that they can't sell advertising on those channels to local companies due to their low ratings. The original idea is to be able to target unique demographics but "Joe's Plumbing Supply" either got driven out of business by Lowes and Home Depot or simply want their ad seen by the most people for the $, niche demographic be damned. So nearly all the niche networks of a decade or two ago have sort of become similar to one another in style of content. Content that is cheap to make but still draw more viewers, at least in terms of percent of overall viewers, than the content they originally had a decade or two ago.

SyFy is just the latest victim of a trend that started years ago and due to the success of it on other channels has finally been applied here.
  17. Wow, I opened up a can of worms.

Sorry GG, it's just that 90+% of female bad guys are portrayed in the media (TV, movies, comics) as over sexualized in both body proportions and dress. And I'm talking the women who when they first appear seem to have the words "HI I'M EVIL" flashing over their heads or at least a "HI I'M UNTRUSTWORTHY".

It's very much like when Jessica Rabbit says "I'm not evil, I'm just drawn that way". She is designed around the classic femme fatale model. You may not like it but that usually means overly sexualized. Now if you don't like the fact that I equate the word "slutty" (of, resembling, or characteristic of a ****) with an over sexualized appearance, I'm sorry I didn't invent the stereotype, I just reference it.

Elephants are gray, not all gray animals are elephants.

    Content

As oppose to what exactly? Farm a single mission? Live inside AE? Always run other player's missions?
  19. Must be some very tame anime then. Even Kasume aka Misty in Pokeman has a bare her midriff and short shorts.

Honestly if he asks tell him they, the characters with "wife objectionable outfits", prefer wearing bathing suits to allow them move around better. I'm sure he's seen girls wear bathing suits in the summer.

Yea, there still will be a few "looks naked" outfits around but they tend to be a clever attempt at matching skin color with spandex or mesh color. Make something up, he won't know better.

  21. Well large breasted and scantily dressed. Watched too many soft porn titles on Cinemax in my youth coupled with a very conservative upbringing.

    So, I have issues.
  22. Great ending for the season. Get to find out a bit more about Eliot's past.

First Episode, "The Big Bang Job". I knew exactly what movie homage they were going to end with when Eliot hesitantly picked up the pistol.

Second Episode, "The San Lorenzo Job". (Paraphrasing) Nate: "You may have the police, the media, the money and the guns. I have a 24 year old hacker with an authority problem. You didn't stand a chance."
