    Startup Problems

Really need to see a HijackThis report, to see what else is running on your system and a CoHHelper report to see your current hardware and drivers.

Likely culprits are StarDock skinning and UI utilities (or similar utilities) and I seem to remember a problem with tablets but I could be wrong.

I do object to his being compared to Uwe Boll though. Boll is just bad. He comes nowhere close to Irwin Allen's magnificence.
I too was weened on Irwin Allen primetime SciFi series not to mention his version of Swiss Family Robinson (with a 13 year old Helen Hunt, I was 14 at the time ).

And as much as people remember Towering Inferno and his other disaster films with the classic 70s cookie cutter casts and plots, I will always remember the man who gave us the Jupiter 2 and the Flying Sub. He's right up there with Gerry Anderson as icons of my childhood.
  3. Didn't you get a GTX 460 SE?

Doesn't matter, the GTX 560 Ti (someone really needs to beat nVidia's marketing department about the head and shoulders, confusing your customers with suffixes isn't a viable marketing strategy) is a really nice card.

Faster than a GTX 470 but with lower power requirements and is whisper quiet with it's reference cooler. Roughly 30% faster than a stock clock GTX 460 1GB, roughly 50% faster than a stock clock GTX 460 SE at 1920x1200 with AA (across a cross-section of games). Uses about 30 watts more 12 volt power over the GTX 460.

Due to the cooler design it vents the hot air into the case so good air circulation in the case is a must.
  4. Looks OK.

    1) That's really a single video card motherboard. The other slot is really x4.
    2) You are getting the ultimate overclocking Sandy Bridge CPU on the market, and coupling it with essentially generic DDR3-1333 memory? I would think this or this would be better for a 4 core/8 thread CPU.
  5. Reminds me more of Hellboy dressed as Panthro for Halloween.
  6. Now I haven't followed them in decades but what stops Franklin from wishing Uncle Johnny back? Did he get mental blocks back in place or what?

Well this is the product page for the Verse map at Qm^x.

In that "Verse" a number of supergiant outer planets were ignited into stars so their moons became viable.

Okay found some pics, may be large, may not like direct linking.

  9. io9 had an interesting article about why Captain America is easier to do than Wonder Woman. I thought it was a good read.
  10. OK I officially dislike the Razzies now if they are tossing Irwin Allen into the same boat as Uwe Boll.
  11. 1) Issue 1.

    2) I don't remember that but they did have resist Mez ones back then Vs today's break and resist Mez ones. They were pinkish and resembled, to me at least, a head wearing headphones. Edit: That's right, orange resist damage are newer, not sure when they added it (Issue 5 or 6?).
  12. Even with 64-bit Windows 7, 32-bit apps like CoH is still limited to 2GB per process. The primary benefit of 64-bit Windows is the ability to use all the system memory installed since other devices like video cards, drive controllers and the like are now memory mapped way, way away from application space.

    RIP Jack LaLanne

96 is a darn good run.
  14. In this game most likely true, more memory cache > extra cores, but not always. Newer games are starting to be coded for more than two cores.

AnandTech Bench results PII X2 555 Vs AII X3 450 (the few game benchmarks are near the bottom).

    Tom's Hardware Gaming Bottlenecks

bit-tech.net - How many cores does Starcraft 2 use?
  15. Also for future posting, update CoHHelper, it now displays UM settings as well.
  16. Pfft, $55 minimum?? The the $40 Scythe Mugen 2 SCMG-2100 is one I can think of offhand.

Edit: Overclock PII X4 965 OC cooler test results.
  17. The account info page only has the last 4 characters of each serial code you have entered.
  18. Well the CCA is now quite dead with Archie Comics dropping it as well.
  19. I don't know what was more disturbing, The Observer playing superhero or watching all the dominoes he set up fall into place.
  20. With the exception of Hugo Weaving as V, most actors seem to despise hiding their face while acting. Recent example is someone here complained that The Cape kept pulling off his hood. Now whether that's the director stupidly afraid that the viewer won't recognize the main character or that the actor wanting more face time on camera.
  21. Article from Space.com suggests closer than 30LY would be a problem from the actual blast.

In the anime Stellvia of the Universe, a supernova 20LY away devastated the Earth. The series takes place nearly 200 years later.
  22. Older article from Esquire, with pictures of his real face.

Ebert's blog entry talking about his new chin, the link to got banned from his Facebook page for "abusive content."
