  1. Forgot to mention the simulated wood paneling. Sadly I wanted a van like this back in '79.
  2. Note, like all servers, the VIP server starts at 12 slots.

    Lag Issues

Outdated simply means the game thinks the drivers are old based on date, not capabilities.

Aside, not directed an SinOfEnvy, but why do so many gamers need to upgrade their drivers every single time they are released if they are already working for the games you play? You all don't seem to understand that 90% of a new drivers purpose is to squeeze that extra 1/2 fps out of whatever the latest game sites are using to benchmark and if that driver messes up an older game, pphhhtt, who cares, the important review sites aren't using that game to benchmark cards anymore. 5% of the time a new driver is out to support a new video card/GPU and the other 5% are actual bug fixes.

    Man of Steel....

But the real estate market has collapsed so now it's screwing around with the oil refineries to hike up the price of gas.

I know, lets divert a significant amount of agricultural resources toward ethanol production thus hiking up the price of corn chips to wage war on childhood obesity. No wait, that sounds like a good thing. Got to come up with a way to make it sound nefarious.
  5. Don't forget the groovy van with the plush wall to wall carpeting.

Costume and shield was better in the 1990 film.
  6. She could still do a voice. Yea, I know, not the same by a long shot.
  7. Well the old Central Park Media had the rights to Beautiful Dreamer while AnimEigo had everything else. And they did try to dub the first four episodes of UY once. It wasn't pretty.
  8. Boy is this a good movie. Moves along nicely, plenty of action and Tommy Lee Jones gets most of the good one liners. Unlike Thor or Tony Stark, Steve Rodgers doesn't really have any ego problems and maybe that makes him too much of a goodie two shoes for some people/reviewers. His biggest problem is girls.

I'm forecast a lot of shield defense characters being rolled up this weekend. And of course stay to after the credits for the Avengers preview.

However what made me smile was an Army Sergent who had strangers walk up to him as we were all filing out to thank him. He didn't seem to understand why numerous people were asking to shake his hand.
  9. While they may be able to get the costumes and powers from the Vet rewards, do they actually get the BADGE? I'm guessing no. So while someone may have the boxing outfit or samurai armor, they won't have the corresponding Vet badge.
  10. To put it another way Tito, you aren't likely to get an official response from anyone directly involved in developing the game on this board. Please note the board's description at the top.

"Discuss gameplay / technical issues or bugs here! This is NOT a forum where official technical/QA support is available. For technical assistance email support@coh.com."
  11. Metacritic numbers are actual averages, Rotten Tomatoes is a Pass/Fail percentage.

For instance if all the reviews of a movie have a individual rating of 59/100, Metacritic would be 59 while RT would be 0. If all the individual ratings were 60/100, Metacritic would be 60 while RT would be 100.

Now whose amalgamated ratings method would you rather use?
  12. Oops, my bad. The IMDB entries at the time had the plots exchanged, that was episode 2 of Alphas.
  13. It was actually Episode 3, they simply haven't shown Episode 2 yet.

SOP. You shoot the pilot then wait around to see if "they" pick it up. There were 4 different series for SyFy that had pilots shot. Then they decide on where to put their money. Unlike the major networks, the minor ones like SyFy are sort of stuck showing the complete run of a series, whether it succeeded as well as they hoped or not.

In this case, the Alphas pilot was shot way back in 2009 but was first pitched to ABC back in 2007 but the writers strike sort of killed it's prospects back then.
  14. You can find the correct command line parameters in the addcache.xml file in the game's folder. At least that's where it is on mine.

Might as well post them here.

San Fransisco not New York. I'm sure you got confused by all the hills.
  16. At the very first Anime Central con (Chicago anime con) back in 98 introduced the "Got Soap?" con T-shirt (still kicking myself for getting the "normal" con shirt rather than that one).

The problem can be traced to students who don't have a lot of spare cash choose to pack themselves into hotel rooms like cord wood to save money. They don't have enough time in the morning for everyone to properly wash up because they all met up with all their online friends and talked IRL till the wee hours so the choice of bathing or catching a few more ZZs before rushing off for the day's events, they tend to choose the ZZs.

Cosplayers tend to wash but after 3 days in the same outfit they too will start to reek. Best photo from a con was a convention hall staffer spraying down the carpets with an industrial sized sprayer of Febreez.

    Hulk Movies

First movie was very Ang Lee. Deconstruct a genre and rebuild it from the ground up. It had super jumping (as in miles) Hulk. It had ripping tanks apart Hulk. It had supersized Hulk. And it went into the psyche of the Hulk. It also was beautifully shot with loads of pretty desert midwestern scenery.

Downside it had a Hulked out poodle. It had Nick Nolte's week Absorbing Man as a final boss. It had an too abstract final fight.

The newer movie did have more of the Banner/Hulk on the run vibe that was mirrored from the old TV series but with huge Hulk ripping cars in half to use as boxing gloves. We get a Hulk stomp, we get a Hulk hand slap to put out fires.

The first movie wasn't as action pack as some may have wanted from a comic book movie and the second movie had enough to keep everyone happy.

Now if they can only get their Hulk model to look better. There is still something about it that screams "CGI MODEL". We've all seen better looking CGI characters mixed in with live action. Want to bet all the Hulk fights will be at night or in dark areas in the rain for the Avengers.
  18. Didn't they kill this with fire already.

Now where did I put the remote for that orbital beam cannon.
  19. Speaking of Doctors, this gentleman was at the con I recently went to. I do appreciate when both the costume and the person wearing it do the character they are trying to portray justice.
  20. Welcome students to AM101, Introduction to Aggro Management.

Ah no. It's not that simple. Well simple if you are designing items using a 3D Cad system, standard output format and all, not so much converting a bunch of game geometry data and texture maps.
  22. Yes but excluding Asian MMOs, FTP or otherwise, Blizzard's population is probably as big as all the others combined. Now if it takes $X to develop the character conversion software for one game, you will ideally want a pretty good ROI which means either getting a large percentage of a smaller game population to use the service or a small percentage of a huge game population. The later is probably the better business plan.

However we do suffer from altitis more than other MMOs so if you count individual characters our character population may be higher than most but you still have to assume only a very small percentage will dole out $130 for something you will but under a bell jar in your study.
  23. There is a lot of things we don't know about Freedom. Hopefully most of those things we will learn before it rolls but I won't be surprised by a swell of shock and outrage on the forums either over some of the details of what's not available in premium for long time players.
  24. There are a couple of posts in last week's thread about tonight's episodes.

Totally forgot about "THE BIG TWIST" in tonight's Eureka, I was spending to much time staring at Felicia's ultra red hair.

And yes, of course he survived. Bullet embedded in coin at the end, what else would anyone think.
  25. The basic problem with con crud is that you are exposing yourself to a wide variety of slightly different common diseases than what you have grown use to coupled with disruptions in your sleep, physical exertion (if you don't spend most of your day normally on your feet walking five miles) as well as increased anxiety (OMG I'm going to miss X if I don't get a move on) which will weaken your existing immunity.

So try to get a good night sleep. Don't forget to bring a small stash of pain killers. Don't forget a bottle of water can be refilled for the entire con, keep hydrated. Spend 10 minutes planning out your day so you don't kick yourself for not getting to see the panel you wanted to see because you forgot you needed to get into line 2 hours before it starts. And there's nothing wrong taking a nice long relaxing shower or bath after a long, hot, sweaty day at the con. Even better with a friend.

Also don't forget to go to the "Top Gun" bar/BBQ place, even though they lost most of that stuff in the fire, it's relatively close to the SDCC and it's pretty good, when I had it in 1995. But it's still around so it still must be good right?
