July 18 Eureka, WH13, Alpha's
There are a couple of posts in last week's thread about tonight's episodes.
Totally forgot about "THE BIG TWIST" in tonight's Eureka, I was spending to much time staring at Felicia's ultra red hair.
And yes, of course he survived. Bullet embedded in coin at the end, what else would anyone think.

Felicia Day is just so damn cute. She needs to be a regular character.
Goodbye, I guess.

Mrs. Lantern used to watch "No Ordinary Family" with me, and seems moderately interested in "Alphas". Good to hear they've made a big step forward so quickly.
I have never watched "Eureka", but might start for the adorable funkiness that is Felicia Day.

Why is everyone so goo-goo for Felicia Day?
She's also acted in many a geek's favorite shows, including several Joss Whedon productions.
And she's a redhead. I love me some redheads.
Something strange about Alphas I noticed tonight. Well several.
First was that my TiVo was calling it Episode 3. This had me wondering how the frell I missed one. Unless the hour and a half pilot somehow counted as two.
Second, there appears to be at least a month (probably several) between the pilot and this episode. This is most pronounced in Rosen. The loss of the beard, the longer hair and diferent hair style. And possibly different glasses. (not sure about that one)The other characters seemed just like the pilot.
Overall, while I enjoyed the episode, I still got this feeling of the pilot being made to convince the studio to go for the whole season. And then this episode was the real kick-off. And there was several months between the filming of the pilot and this episode.
It was actually Episode 3, they simply haven't shown Episode 2 yet.
SOP. You shoot the pilot then wait around to see if "they" pick it up. There were 4 different series for SyFy that had pilots shot. Then they decide on where to put their money. Unlike the major networks, the minor ones like SyFy are sort of stuck showing the complete run of a series, whether it succeeded as well as they hoped or not.
In this case, the Alphas pilot was shot way back in 2009 but was first pitched to ABC back in 2007 but the writers strike sort of killed it's prospects back then.

Oops, my bad. The IMDB entries at the time had the plots exchanged, that was episode 2 of Alphas.

Ok, that's a bit better.
Still doesn't explain why my TiVo calls it episode 3. Though my comcast guide tonight is calling it episode 2.

Hmm, Ok, interesting and that was a nasty thing to do to Alison.
I wonder how long they will run with the 3 teams, I'm not certain why but I'm expecting the new guy to get it. Probably because the opening credits don't have him in that shot of everyone standing outside the office in the Warehouse.
And last but DAMN did the second episode of Alpha's rocket off. The character ticks I was worrying about have been toned down. They are still there but not nearly so annoying or a problem and the entire case they pursued was fascinating. Ok a show of hands on how many people are certain that he survived the end of the episode? ::raises hand::
