Freedom & Levelling Pact?

Currently if two accounts have a levelling pact and one account runs out of credit (becomes unplayable) the pact is automatically broken, even if neither character is played for however long the account remains un-subscribed.

When i21 Freedom is launched will this behaviour change or will levelling pacts remain a VIP only feature?

((Ideally a Dev/Rep answer but if it's been mentioned before and I've missed it a link would be good too.))

Sorry I can't help your question, but the standard response to this is that this section is "Players helping players find information related to CoH/CoV." Devs rarely respond here. If you need a dev response, you have a better chance of getting a response by PM'ing them.

There is a lot of things we don't know about Freedom. Hopefully most of those things we will learn before it rolls but I won't be surprised by a swell of shock and outrage on the forums either over some of the details of what's not available in premium for long time players.

I feel like I should mention that I've had a friend's account lapse and was still pacted with them, contrary to what we were expecting. This was last December I think.

Hadn't logged onto the hero until his account was renewed, if that affects anything.

You can probably go forward assuming that:

  • Free (brand new empty account) players will NOT be able to participate in levelling pacts.
  • Premium (returning former subscribers, or Free players who have purchased an upgrade) players can buy (or earn through past veteran status) the ability to join and maintain levelling pacts, despite the lack of a subscription.
  • VIP (subscribing) players will continue to have the same level of access that subscribers do now.

The devs got this question directly (do not remember if it was on chat, forum, or facebook) but they said that there was no comment at this time, it will be addressed as more information comes out.

It might have changed already then. But in the past my pacts have all broken as soon as a single account goes unsubbed (even as in the past for three days with neither account even being logged on during those three days).

It's really for VIP dropping to premium that I want to know, if my level pacted characters on the 2nd account are going to lose the level pact status as soon as the account drops to premium (which it will immediately after i21) I won't bother pacting them in the first place. And I'll stop paying for my 2nd account.
