the next Superman movie has been delayed until summer 2013.....

In a way I am glad that they are taking their time with this and not rushing it. Hopefully the delay means that they will be able to get this film doen correctly.

They're probably searching for *just* the right Lex Luthor real-estate plot. Because it's not a Superman movie unless Lex is trying to kill millions of people to increase the value of his real-estate.

But the real estate market has collapsed so now it's screwing around with the oil refineries to hike up the price of gas.

I know, lets divert a significant amount of agricultural resources toward ethanol production thus hiking up the price of corn chips to wage war on childhood obesity. No wait, that sounds like a good thing. Got to come up with a way to make it sound nefarious.

Read on The Daily What - Geeks that it was because the Hobbit movie was coming out the same time and WB didn't want to crowd the plate with both blockbusters. Hence, turning Superman into a summer one. Doesn't seem that its affected production.

Dunno how accurate that is though. *shrug*

Have Lex wear a suit while doing it. If a guy in a suit does it, everyone knows it must be evil. Even if "it" is, say, walking down the street or drinking a glass of water.

I wonder if it has anything to do with DC's "Earthshaking" new Superman revamp. No marrige to Lois Lane , lonely outsider in a love traingle. Never seen that before [1938-1996] And the new Ceremonial Kyprtonese battle armor. They might be waiting to see which look wins out so they can stay with the same look for the movie. Maybe I'm just jaded with yet another colossal , stupendous event.

It's not so much a planned event as the fact DC has to change Superman ASAP do to losing a massive amount of his copyrighted materials. Pretty much eveything is being redone to make room for those changes. I'm going to guess this is the same reasont he movie is being held back, not to avoid other blockbusters but to rework the script and edit out the things they can't mention anymore.

Last I read was that the estate won the rights to Superman as shown in Action Comics #1, was there an update to the case?

I'm just gonna reference the Simpsons episode "The Fool Monty" and oil rig logistics supplier for all the character and plot devices needed to make any Lex Luthor plot seem nefarious even if its only undercutting a neighborhood lemonade stand by a penny.

Perhaps someone at Warners noticed that Zach Snyder actually can't make movies?

It's a lot more then just that, these are the things that can't be mentioned anymore except after paying the estate for the rights to do so once it takes hold.

Superman's origins from the planet Krypton, his parents Jor-El and Lora, Superman as the infant Kal-El, the launching of the infant Superman into space by his parents as Krypton explodes and his landing on Earth in a fiery crash.
The Superman character, including his costume, his alter-ego as reporter Clark Kent, the feisty reporter Lois Lane, their jobs at the Daily Planet newspaper working for a gruff editor, and the love triangle among Clark/Superman and Lois.

What they can mention and use.

Superman's ability to fly, the term kryptonite, the Lex Luthor and Jimmy Olsen characters, Superman's powers and expanded origins.

Dear gods, if that's true, then he's not Superman anymore, is he.

Why does greed have to figure into these things so much, why not think of the fans who have supported the character for so many years, why tear it apart over a pointless argument
