  1. I'm having many of the same problems as the OP. I've been looking at your guide too, Mojo. I'm right in the middle of trying to figure how I'm gonna fix this toon. I made the same mistake as most do at first and went for positional over typed.

I don't have a ton of inf so I can't afford the LOTG's or Numina sets. I already have a Steadfast and full set of GSFC's. I was hoping you could recommend some cheaper sets to get me moving.

Any advice for this build too? )

Again, I am just starting to redo this build so that's why it looks a bit lopsided at the moment.

    Aoe farm build?

Thanks for the reply guys! It sounds like Elm/SD might be the way to go afterall.

Anyone have any advice on what should be skipped? Any and all build advice is welcome and greatly appreciated.

    Aoe farm build?

Hello all. I was hoping for suggestioins on an affordable (200 - 500 million) farming toon. I suspect that Spines/FA, Spines/DA and Elm/SD might be pretty good but not sure about how affordable they are or even how to build them.

From what I've gathered around here it seems that /DA and /SD are not the way to go when looking for an affordable build.

    What do you guys think?

    Kat/Regen help

    Cool...thanks for the advice guys.

Next question - Given my limited influence, would there be any benefit to dropping Focused Accuracy and moving the full set of GSFC's to Build Up instead? That would leave one power slot open and I guess I could take Converve Power but with my QR and Stamina slotted the way it is, I doubt I'll ever need CP on this build.

Of course, if I was soloing AV's and things like that, I would want CP. I have the same slotting for Stamina and QR on 2 of my lvl 50 /WP toons and they both have CP...which I never ever have to use. Any suggestions?

    Kat/Regen help

Am I making a mistake in any way by taking SOTW instead of Flashing Steel? I find myself moving from one target to the next more often than I find myself slashing at a group so it seemed to make sense to me. Plus, it will help fill in the chain while I'm at such a low lvl of recharge.

Of course, I will be starting off with GC...don't want to start the GC vs. SOTW debate again. heh
  6. Thanks for the info guys...this will help me out quite a bit.

What's a good number to aim for on regen? I posted my MIDS build in another post and it's sitting at 633% Regen and only 31.3% Recharge.

***EDIT***Here's the build...I've changed it a bit from my other post...now at 613% Regen and 35% Recharge.

I know there are some strange power choices here...it's a mix of theme and playability. After I get this build working, i will concentrate on a more focused second build with an eye towards AV's.

Any suggestions for a new Lvl 50 Kat/Regen w/ a budget of about 200-300 million?

I know there are some questionable power choices in there but it's a mix of theme and playability.

  8. I see a lot of talk about def and recharge. How much (if any) focus should be put on adding additional regen?

I just got my Kat/Regen to lvl 50 and I'm not sure how to proceed with him for IO sets. Most people have told me to go for recharge and regen...not so?

Ya, I'm kinda thinking I may have to drop one of the AOE's. So, it' either Flashing Steel, Super Jump or...??? I love Build Up and Stamina way too much to drop either. Although, if someone could demonstrate the change you are referring to in a build, I'd love to see it if it works. Still open to suggestions for what to drop or for the build in general.

I'm hoping to eventually have one build with Energy Torrent for concept and the second build for regular play.
  10. I'm a total loss on this toon. My build is a bit of a wreck and I could really use some input. When I started him, I wasn't aware that I should be focusing on typed def vs. positional.

I really want to add Energy Torrent for conept reasons without sacrificing his playability. I usually team or solo PVE only and I don't have a ton of inf. I'm currently sitting on about 150 million.

I never use Conserve Power or Maneuvers so those two can be dropped...but I can't decide what else I can safely drop. Super Jump seems to be the obvious choice but I'd like to leave that in as well for concept reasons. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated!

    Here's the current build:

    DM/SD help

I need some advice on a lvling build for my DM/SD. I have no clue what I'm doing with this build so far. I've looked around but all I see are high level builds.

I was hoping for some do's and dont's from you guys so I can throw a build together and post it on here.

This toon is most likely going to be a long term project that won't see lvl 50 for quite some time so I'm really just looking at regular IO slotting. I usually start putting IO's in after lvl 25...I think I'm at lvl 17 now and he's completely unenhanced.

Like my other toons, this guy will mainly team with some solo action here and there. No AV madness.

    Thanks.
  14. Well, I finally tried messing with the difficulty settings last night to suprising results...to me anyways. I went for +1/x8 and didn't die once thanks to inspirations and Shockwave's kb/mitigation. I did have a few close calls but I'm very surprised at just how well this toon is perfoming so far. I can't wait until I can make enough inf for some more meaningful upgrades!

Now, the problem is...I want more...crap...this is how scrapperlock begins isn't it?

    heh...

PvP farming is the way to go though. If you get 1 PvP recipe a day, you can easily hit the inf cap in a week. I made 400 million off of a single fury of the gladiator chance for dam-res debuff last night.
I honestly didn't think that I could handle X8 w/ my current build. Do you think it could work? Are you just running scanner missions in Peregrinne?

I've never done PVP and wouldn't have a clue where to start! lol
Since I don't have the inf that everyone else seems to have, I figued that I'd just get my "hat" handed to me...

I earned all of my LotGs and Numina procs.

Of course, I'm weird. I'm one of the few billionaires I've found that isn't an "evil marketeer" or crazy hardcore farmer. I just have a frugal playstyle that allows me to generate money at a steady, impressive rate.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong of if I just have the worst luck in the history of this game but in almost 2 years of playing, I've only received 3 purple drops...and I've done plenty of TF's and other crazy stuff. 2 of the 3 were on the same day...crazy.

If I'm running solo, where would I have the best chance of getting any worthwhile drops?
  17. Here's where I'm at with the "Predator" toon.

I'm only missing about 3 pieces because they are all running around 30 million each and I just don't have that kind of inf. How the heck do you guys have so much cash?!?!?!? lol

While the combination of concept and function is working for me (mainly talking about Stealth here) to reach the soft cap, I'd still like to hit the cap w/out having to use Stealth.

I have to admit that even at this current state, I've had SO much fun with this toon and he has been able to endure some crazy stuff so far. I finally see why everyone speaks so highly of /SR. I've been a huge /WP fan for so long and now that I've seen how well a high lvl /SR works, I want to make /SR versions of my /WP toons! haha!

My newest concern is recharge. Not sure where I should start. I'm sitting at 30% right now. I know some things could be done differently but again, I just don't have that kind of cash. After all of this, I'm sitting on about 12 million but I have access to another 170 or so between all of my other toons. However, I was hoping to use some of that to either respec my Kat/WP or lvl up and slot a Kat/SR.

How can I begin to stack on some recharge while not completely breaking myself or losing any cap values? Or is it even possible?

If you can't, then there's not much point to it.
Thanks Laevateinn. I'm still somewhat new to the numbers side of things here so maybe you can help me out. I see a lot of talk about "global recharge". Are you looking at the recharge section in MIDS under misc or is this something else?

    FM/SR vs. Kat/SR

I have another thread going about Kat/SR right now but I saw some people talking bout FM/SR that made it sound rather good.

I was wondering which one you guys thought might be more formidable? Kat/SR or FM/SR?
  20. Here's the build that I'm messing around with right now...suggestions are welcome!

I'm somewhat tempted to drop DA and re-work some of the slotting to make up for the loss but I'm just not sure if it's such a good idea or not...

Energy Torrent is in there for conceptual reasons. Other than that, it should be pretty functional. I'd like to work some more recharge in there and drop Hasten if possible.

  21. I have a level 50 Kat/WP and a lvl 50 Claws/SR. I've always been a huge /WP fan but have recently discovered the srappy joy of /SR...and I love it!

    I'm thinking of making a Kat/SR.

Is it a complete waste to aim for the soft cap without the use of Divine Avalance? Or should I just aim for 30% on melee def so that the 15% given by DA will achieve the 45% soft cap?

Or, is Kat/SR a waste in general? I've heard some good things about Kat/EA...

  23. Agreed. As I recently learned, take 'em all...you can live without the tier 9 though...
