Yet another ElM/SD...

I was planning a duo with my RL friend the other day and we ended up choosing ElM/SD + Emp/Sonic as the two characters we'd play. Me being a Scrapper type of person I naturally chose the Scrapper... While I'm expecting the leveling to be quite easy (I'm getting heals, Fort, +regen and +recov and some -RES on top of that!) I started tinkering a lvl 50 IO build.

Goals for the build were quite naturally 1) soft capped def 2) global rech 3) regen and 4) recovery. The build I ended up with seems quite good with 3.5 EPS (+ 2x PS proc), 31.4 hp/sec regen and 47.5% global rech. At 50 I want this build to be able to solo well which I think it will be fine for. I'm thinking of playing solo at +2/6 or something like that, but I'll see about that when/if I get there.

So, what do you think?

Is there a reason why your data chunk causes my mid's to throw .net errors?
its weird it loads up that its a blaster, but scrapper in drop down. shows Broadsword powerset but is the Archery set etc. very wierd.


Now onto your build. you really don't slot up your first 2 attack until the 40s?

Huh? No idea why it's doing that and I haven't got a clue on how to fix it.

The slot levels are (as usual with my builds) completely random. I choose them as I see fit while leveling up. The build is (for me) mostly about the power choices and their levels and the number of slots spent in powers.

Your Mid's seems to be v1.4, maybe upgrading to 1.6 helps?

Its actually 3 purp sets.. Even if you run with the +Recharge sets in the place of the purp ones you are still running around as a soft capped beast.

You can easily make a lot of influence running mishes at +2 x6 or even 8 with no bosses. I ran my PI arcs that way.

Righto, got my PC working again and fixed my Mids!

For some reason Phalanx fighting doesn't add to my Ranged Def in Mids which is why it is only at 41.8% even though it has the same amount of set bonus Def as the others.

Also 1 comment from your build, you might wanna change the Enzyme Exposure (End/def/tohit) to Membrane Exposure (rec/def/tohit) thatway you could free 1 slot from active defense (maybe to phys perfection or force feedback + recharge proc on thunderstrike, etc...)

Works now! Thanks for the help.

I'll consider that thing about the Membrane... Will see what the difference in cost between Enzymes and Membranes is. Last time I bought them Membranes cost about 100mil each and Enzymes were around 20-25mil so it wasn't a hard choice :P

Huh, turns out Membranes are actually cheaper than Enzymes so I'm going for 2x Membrane in AD and moving one slot to Thunder Strike for a FF +Rech proc.

Time for a necro!

My Elec/Shield is going on pretty nicely, level 32 right now and enjoying my unslotted Lightning Rod. Can't wait to get to 37 to have both LR and SC slotted to really start decimating stuff...

Anyways, let's get to the point. I recently made another billion influence (woop, go me :P) and with my sporadic playing I decided I'd go pretty much all out on the ElM/SD because it will most probably take over a month to get him to 50 which will give me time to make more millions of inf I don't really have a use for currently. And no, I don't do charity. Sorry! :P

I've improved the build I posted earlier a bit, it now has more +Rech, more DDR, I think more +Dmg and +Acc while it keeps similar regeneration (a bit less, but with the improved DDR I don't think it's a problem). While FireBall and FireBlast might be good additions to the build they don't really fit the concept and I'm quite sure it'll be good enough to have LR or SC available at every spawn. Besides, I much prefer the basically infinite endurance Conserve Power and Physical Perfection provide me. And before anyone gets around to doing it, I don't really like Energy Torrent.

All improvements to the build are welcome! It's basically an infinite budget build, but I'd like keeping it down to these two purple sets and I won't get any PvP IOs due to their cost and availability.

Came out with this... slight improvements in some departments, added Haste and took out Grant Cover (havent really missed that one, but if you want it, just change it back (and rm Haste) and slot it with 2x LotG and place the kismet back in Phalanx Fighting).

Also took out the Mako's from CI, since it had 5.2s recharge and iirc to be able to run the singletgt chain of CI-CB-JL-CB, CI would need to be recharge in ~3.96s (this is from my memory, so could be off)... so 5.2s vs the 5.33s imo is irrelevant in this case (again, i might have missed why you slotted in the Mako's)

Just my 2 cents from playing a Elec/SD scrapper to 50 now: I have not needed DEF to be soft capped. It's close but IMO does not need to be the focus of the build. Get the Def to about 40% in all 3 spheres and start wrecking mobs. I built this toon to farm so the focus was 1) global recharge, 2) recovery, 3) defense and regen. I can easily solo at +2/8, no bosses. My health usually only goes down to 80% of total with my play style so no problems there. I usually jump into a mob, take the alpha and beta strikes while they gather around me, then it's BU+LR+SC. Kill any stragglers or, in the case of freaks, rezzers. As BU, LR, and SC are near recharged I begin to move to the next mob. LR and SC take 30 secs to recharge with Hasten on (near perma). Recovery is good enough that I do not have to worry about it unless I use fire ball a few times. It's end heavy but I rarely need it. The 3 epic blaze powers have turned out to be set mules to boost regen, rech, acc, and def. Body mastery may be in this build's future. The build is not too expensive and it is incomplete with still some SO's in it. Will add some Miracle's and Numina's in heatlh and Miracles and Steadfast in True Grit for a little more recovery and regen/HPs. But honestly, as is, he's awesome and appreciated on any team. Team member comments like, "OK, we'll just stand over here then?" "Wow. That's.... Wow." and "I think we can raise the diff now." will be common for you. Anyway, here's a not too expensive, incompletely IO'ed build that rocks whether I am farming or on door mishes. Power selection was influenced by my need to do a lot of FlashBack TF's for merits as I am poor compared to some of you guys. That's how I got 5 LotG +global recharge recipes in about 2 weeks. No purples (yet).
