Between fire/ and illusion/ I'd pick the first one anyday. Illusion/ is a good and safe set but is also awfully boring imo. Feels a bit too passive compared to other primaries.
-
Howdy.
I'm thinking of making a Claws brute but I'm having some trouble choosing the secondary - elec or energy.
I've never played either sets but one thing is certain - I like defense. So here's a few points I'd like you to help me with:
1. How fast can I get a full fury bar, assuming I've got soft capped defense to X type of damage? Do the missed/deflected attacks count to build fury?
2. As ElA, I assume I can play with IO sets and get some nice defense aswell? Maybe even soft cap it to S/L or some other kind of damage (without ruining my powers).
I think this is it. I guess I should make 2 brutes, one for each secondary but I'm tight on character slots and I don't feel like buying additional slots atm. So, do share your experiences with either secondaries. Falsey appreciates it. -
Assuming this is an end game build, everything looks nice. Except maybe for that Titanium Coating on Tough. You can probably move that slot somewhere else as I don't see any reason for running Tough while having capped ranged defense and hover. A 6th slot on Shriek or AM are the most obvious choices to me.
And it kinda pains me seeing that numi proc on Radiant Aura. You could lose the love for those 3,75% ranged defense and go with 5 Doc Wounds (+5% rech) and move the numi proc to Health.
But all in all, the build should work just fine as it is. "Just fine" being an understatement. -
I'd recommend aiming for 40% ish ranged defense. This is what you do: send ball lightning from range (the foes will use their ranged attacks which should miss), then you hop into the mob and use Short Circuit + Power Sink. They will be end drained, then you can blap at will.
It works very well 80% of the times. -
You shouldn't be having problems with 3 rads. Get the defenders to place RI on non-teleporting foes and just as soon as the debuffs are on, you use SoC and/or AoE immob.
It's just a matter of coordination I guess.
Btw, SoC will affect everything under boss level. So spirits and sorcerers are included in the pack. -
Was good fun. We'll be doing it again I'm sure. I'll most likely announce it in DE channel instead of posting it here though.

I meant Mass Confusion. Don't take me wrong, I like the power and I would take it if I had a mind troller/domi. I'm just saying SoC makes it look really underpowered - because of the recharge and the level you can get it.
AoE sleeps are quite awful in PvE teams (maybe not in a very slow paced and strategic team). The one reason why I say Mind Hypnosis is exception is because it doesn't draw any aggro even if it misses. Sure, solo wise you might get a good use out of Pb/AoE sleeps.
And for what is worth, I could argue that there is no "worst" power, just very situational ones. Hence why I say some powers need tweaking so they can be used more often.
Also, I don't consider a power to be good just because it can be used to this and that IO/set. If we go that way, then almost every powerr are good. Even brawl n' sprint. -
DP is good and shiney.
I'm gonna get flamed for this but.. here's my thoughts:
1) Mind Confusion - SoC makes it look really bad (SoC it needs a big fat nerf - there, I said it)
2) Time Bomb - Ridiculous endurance cost and cast time. Fun but that's about it.
3) Lightning Clap
4) Team teleport - I've had it and enjoyed it, but it needs some tweaking (larger distance, for once)
5) AoE phase powers
6) AoE sleeps (except for Mind's one)
7) PbAoE "repel" toggles (except hurricane)
8) Liquify - Great power, awful recharge and ridiculous duration
There's probably more but those are the biggest ones I think. Mind you, I'd take a lot of those powers based on my characters concept but still, they need tweaking. -
The TF has to be postponed to a weekday, since there are a few players that want to participate but can't make it this weekend.
I'll make a new post when we set the date. -
Howdy.
This is my first try at willpower set, so I was hoping you could give me a few tips. If I go WP, will I cap HP with accolades alone? Or should I go for HP bonuses aswell (if so, how much exactly)?
This will be a PvE tank, mostly for TFs and big teams. Was wondering if I could tank LR with it? I've been considering going for ~40% to S/L and maybe E/N along with regen bonuses.
I'm not a big fan of purple sets - I think they're highly overrated and overpriced, so I'd rather stick with "regular" IO sets. Any builds suggestions?
Thanks in advance. -
I don't like teaming with MM's. It's not the players, but the AT. Specially on tight maps (caves, office missions, bank missions, etc).
Mind you, I know they're powerful and handy. I just can't stand how crowded missions get when u have more than 1 MM in team (at high-ish level, that is). -

Howdy. I'm trying to put together an all storm Statesman TF (defender/troller, up to you).
Date:
- March 14th (Sunday) afternoon.
- Time TBA.
Requirements:
- Free time. I'd say 3 hours maximum.
- L45+ stormy, decently slotted.
- Shivains. We can meet like 30 mins before TF time and get us all some shivies.
- Inspirations, especially break frees and purples (you can grab them between missions, no worries).
- At least one illusion/storm. LR is a pain to handle, we might need Phantom Army to keep him busy while we take down the towers.
Also good to have:
- Warbug nukes
- Snacks and drinks
Team:
1. @False Fiction - Storm/Dark
2. @Techno - Storm/Psi
3. @Tuxedo - Plant/Storm (TBC)
4. ?
5. ?
6. ?
7. ?
8. ?
Reserve:
R1. ?
R2. ? -
... Dark/Storm? I have a Storm/Dark defender and he's so awesome that I wouldn't mind doing his evil twin.
On the other hand, I've never seen a Rad/TA around and I've never played any of the sets to a decent level. Will I enjoy it? Or does it feel underpowered?
Chances are this will be my first 50 villain, so yea... I hope I pick the most fun and rewarding one. -
Signed, as long as it's somehow limited. Say, you can only transfer a certain char once every 15 days/1month. And not over 2 transfers per month. The only reason why I'm signing is because it would be lovely for roleplaying meetings and pvp tourneys.
Still, I don't see this happening. -
I understand some players have their own configuration - I did too. However, those players can simply not press the button and keep their stuff in place.
-
Ola, super powered readers!
I guess this could be relatively simple to implement and would come out quite handy to most players.
What I'm suggesting is some sort of button in your inspirations tray that would automatically group the inspirations by type. This would go well with the inspiration combo feature too. -
So, I'm tweaking my Storm/Dark/Dark final build and I wanted to know how would achilles and soulbound allegiance's procs work? Does it have a chance to proc as long as tornado is active or is it a chance to proc per cast?
Thanks. -
Hey lads. I'm just curious of how good this combo would be and I could use a couple pointers:
- Flamethrower v Ignite - Should I get both or just one of them?
- Grenade v Buckshot - The numbers on Grenade seem more appealing, take it it's a better choice?
- Seeker Drones - How exactly does it work? Is it worth taking?
- Poison trap - What's its magnitude?

For excellent single target damage, go Sonic (stacked -res). Ice is a good mix of aoe and ST and stacks slows with snow storm and freezing rain. Energy would require you to position your toon in order to avoid complete chaos in teams, but it should be much fun.
I'd consider Dark too. Tentacles are just lovely to keep the baddies in FR radius and once you get a Gravity Anchor Proc in it, it becomes a godly power.
Also with Dark you're able to stack stuns with Thunderclap and Darkpit. This works particulary well if you manage to get ~40% ranged defense - you cast FR on a big spawn, they'll use ranged attack and most likely miss, then you hop in and stun the heck out of them.
Now, my Storm/Dark is not exactly impressive when it comes to damage (no build up and all) but then again I'm a defender - even though I play as an offender all the time. -
I think I may have a build in my laptop. What kind of corruptor are we talking about: team focused or self focused (ie. no shields, with nuke)?
-
Well done. All I really want to know is what map addon is that? I recall using it ages ago, but I completely forgot its name.
