  1. It's a bit exhausting reading all this text. I won't comment your opinions, just saying that if you highlight the powers (either with bold or underline) it might be more enjoyable to read. And maybe if you post the whole build at the end, it would be good I might post mine tomorrow if you want.

    Good job tho
  2. My vote goes for Earth/Rad (I'm biased). There's an incredible control potential on it. But I do admit that Earth/Storm might do better. It needs much more practice tho.
  3. I haven't had time to test this yet, but I was playing my SR Scrapper this morning and got my [censored] kicked cuz of their stacked vengeance. That got me thinking: if I go with my Illusion troller and deceive the Lieus and then kill one of them, will the Vengeance be used on me and my team?

    Cheers.
  4. You said it all...

Spines: Great AoE damage plus 2 good ST powers (Impale and Ripper)

Katana: Great ST damage plus defence bonus. (It blooms later than Spines tho).

The combo DP+IH+Quills+SpinesBurst is just uber. You'll be nuking mob after mob quicker than any other Scrapper. Plus, Spines might be better for PvP (at least for Sirens) while Katana blooms later.

Anyway, both combos are great fun. Spines will kill mobs faster, Katana is better for bosses/ebs/avs since its ST damage is awesome.

    Thank you! Meewwww

That final build seems fine (didn't check the slots). I wouldn't go for provoke tho. Granite's -rech is not THAT huge. 3Rech3TaunDur on Taunt + Mudpots will work just fine. Go for Superspeed instead of Provoke. At least you'll be able to travel around on laggy days (or even use it for PvP).
  6. I vote no for a few reasons:

1- You're not picking Rock Armor, so you're not thinking of stacking its defence with Weave and play out of Granite mode.

2- Tough+Granite will give you a ridiculous amount of resistance. The tiny defence bonus will be nearly useless.

3- Weave is end heavy and the defence bonus is [censored]. Running Granite+Tough+Rooted+MudPots+Weave will drain your End after a short attack chain. It's not even worth the slots you got to waste to make it an OK power.

    Come on...

It's not only Scrapper's forum but all other ATs too. We really need new primaries/secondaries or new challenges like States TF. Hope it comes out really soon. Otherwise the forum will end up dying or we stick with the same old posts like "MoG - is it any good?" or "SR - is Aid Self a must?".

    Prestige

You don't collect prestige for yourself but for your SG base. Plus, one day playing a L40+ char out of SG mode will give you enough influence to support any alt.

The only individual prize you should get from collecting large amounts of prestige is a badge (and I'm no badge hore).

    Fire/SS Build

The key power from FA set is Healing Flames. Make sure she slots it with 3Rech3Heal SOs.

Fire Tankers are not meant to be the best holding the aggro , but they do kill faster thanks to Blazing Aura and Burn. With Fiery Embrace and Rage running, she should be able to kill things faster than any other Tanker.

The lack of kb protection and having no MaxHP increase might be the downsides of a Fire Tanker. But then again, Healing Flames is a fantastic power and it has been improved a few time ago.

As I said before, HF is the key power, so make sure she 6slot it. Another tip is picking Tough. Fire Shield + Plasma Shield + Tough will give you good resistence numbers (70% S/L, 45% Energy & NegEnergy, 90% Fire and 15% Cold IIRC). Plus, HF will give you some nice resistence against Toxic for a while.

Having both toggle shields, Tough and Acrobatics you'll be running 4 toggles. You'll probably need to slot some of your secondary powers with EndReds. You can also pick consume, that might help a bit (not much, the end recovery isn't that great). Conserve power from Body Mastery might be another good option.
  10. Are we talking about AoE damage or Single Target damage?

Single Target: Energy Melee ( It blooms late, but the last two powers in the set kick [censored])
    AoE damage: Fire Melee maybe.
    Less damaging overall: Ice Melee.

I can't give you numbers, but Super Strenght is surely a good overall thanks to Rage. All the other sets are pretty close to each other.
If your planning to PvP I'd suggest either Super Strenght or Energy Melee.

Except God could actually squash those bugs .

But then again, He couldn't. God is said to love everyone. Plus, bugs aren't evil. Are they?

I wonder how useful Burn would be in PvP...

    [/ QUOTE ]

It works way better on FA Brutes. However, any good PvPer will just walk away from that deadly patch right after it is activated.

    Ice/Radd

Honestly the only reason I would go for Ice instead of Earth would be Glacier. Just because I love the sound and gfx.

Earth got area slow (quicksand), area knockdown (earthquake), huge cone disorient (stalagmites) and probably the best aoe hold available on a troller primary set (even if its a "pulse hold", all you need to do is keep things immobed or knockin down in that area). Moreover, and as far as I am concerned, it got an accuracy bonus.

All this features combined with /Rad goodness, makes you feel like your playing G0D over bugs.
  15. If your willing to be an oldschool tank, I'd suggest Inv/Ice. You'll be doing crappy damage but your survivability will be outstanding thanks to Ice Patch. I'm starting one myself whenever I feel in the mood to tank again.
  16. Yes, but even if it looks cool, I wouldn't advise on making a post teaching how to use any kind of bug. Anyway, it's no big deal and it will probably be fixed soon
  17. Wow.. An original question!!

There is no build that needs travel power. I've seen a SR Scrapper with swift+quickness only and he says it works fine. And it does.

With my troller, I've played without travel power 'til L35. Then I used respec and replaced Inertial Reduction and Repel for Hover and Fly (mainly because it's quite useful for Hamidon PA dropping).

Quick answer to the OP: Siphon Speed and IR work fine.
  18. False_Fiction

    Ice/Radd

It works fine when properly slotted. I've teamed a lot with a friend who had a L42 Ice/Rad and he never had big end issues. But you might have to put one EndRed on a few primary powers if you want to keep locking things up.
I'm biased, but I think Earth/Rad is quite better when it comes to crowd control. It makes things just too easy (It's a damn slow soloer tho.. but then again, so is Ice.)
  19. I'd go /Dark. You might have some End issues (or at least more than kinetics) and less recharge goodness, but you can totally control a mob to death. I don't need to tell you how godly is the Tar Patch + FStare + AoEs combo.. it's just too good. Moreover, you can end up with 2 pets. What's not to love?

    Sonic/Ice

I think I've only seen one Sonic/Cold (pre-I7). It seem's pretty interesting to me.

    Pro's:
» You can stack a great amount of debuffs: -Rech, -Speed, -Res, -Reg, -Dmg, -Def, -EndRecovery.
    » Good team buffs: +MaxHp, +Def (to all basicaly), +End, +EndRecovery.
» If you PvP, you got a good ST disorient (Screech).

    Con's:
Honestly I don't see many.. Probably most players consider the fact of having no self heal a weakness. I never thought that. It probably makes you a better player, since you'll think twice before rushing into a mob.

Good luck with your Cold Soprano/Tenor :P
  21. The build and slotting seems fine to me (I'm assuming you would slot Conserve Power with 3 recharges). Maybe I would take one or two slots from SJ and place it in Artir Air (2 slows).

Since your building an Air Mage (called Azure Eagle), I think Fly would fit it better. Also Air Superiority will help you kill things faster, since Ice isn't exacly a high damage set (not even after Frosty).

Moreover - and again because your an Air Mage - I would probably go for Ice Mastery instead of Primal. Plus, Hibernate will probably save your life more often than Aid Self (or at least it is safer and less annoying to activate).
  22. IMO Ice/Rad only does better at PvP cuz the two main debuffs are toggles while Tar Patch is a click zone debuffer (however I do love this power and it is one of my fav in the whole game). Again, my vote goes for Ice/Dark.
  23. I've been playing a bit of CoV on Union lately and I've figured Inv brutes are quite rare (actually I haven't seen any on my level range). The most common sets now seems to be Elecs and Stones. So, I went to my planner to compare Inv and Elec resists and it seems Elec got a pretty good advantage over Inv (except on toxic and slight difference on S/L numbers).

I've also been asking around why are there so few Inv's and the most common asnwer I get is "Elecs are way better.".

I'm not an expert on Invulnerability set, but shouldn't the defence bonus and Dull Pain offer better survivability than Elec?
  24. Ahoy, baddies. I've been playing CoX on Defiant for ages now. I'm running out of slots on Defiant, so I decided to continue my villainous career on Union (I stopped playing CoV a month before I7 release, but I've L40 twice so I know the dark side pretty well).

I've been wondering if theres a nice VG recruiting. By "nice" I mean a VG with lots and friendly players who team a lot together.

My toon is Glaciologist, an Ice/Cold corruptor. Currently I'm only L7 but I'm trying to take advantage of this double xp weekend to level up a bit faster.

    Cheerios
