What happened to Inv brutes
I think for PvE Inv is pretty top notch for a brute. My thoughts are people probably wanted to try the different sets. Elec is probably popular because its good, and its new. Of all the new powersets that have been introduced it stands out as being very good. Or course the whole gremlin form thing would swing it for me over unstopable. Looks much nicer

I'm an inv brute. It's cliche, but I like it.
Just played my inv tank for a mission and found the noise of it intensely irritating. That could have something to do with it

I'm guessing that the achilles heel of the Inv set - the lack of psionic resist, it what makes it less popular? Elec has fairly good psionics resist.
Other than that, I would say I like my own Inv Brutes - especially after they made the aura of the set negative instead of that flaky disco light version from CoH
You know you can do something to get around those annoying sound-loop problems right? I did it for my Dark Armour Brute as the sound was driving me up the walls as the soundloop bug came back
There's a good guide for it here: Linkage
I've just started playing a Stone/Inv Brute, and have no sound problems there either - so you can achieve the sound of silence
I have an EN/Inv brute and loving it at the mo Suits PvE well with unstop and dull pain
My first brute who made it to 5-0 was a (classic) SS/INV one.
Love playing him, but after I tried a SS/Ela I was sold to the /Ela defense.
The End drain make this suit soooo great imho, U just haven't got any downtime at all ... Throw in Conserve Enegry for the carnies and Mu's and it's even better.
On this one I can run Footstamp with 2 recharge red... and still have end spare :-)
Just my thought :-)
Mad Dave - lvl50 brute SS/INV
Evil Jimmy - lvl50 brute SM/SA
Mad Fire Green - lvl50 brute FM/EA
Fury Green - lvl46 SS/Ela (pers. favourite)
The first toon I made was an Spines/Inv scrapper. So when it came to making a brute I chose /Inv simply because I new the set and I'm loving it loads. I actualy modified my scrappers slotting similer with my brutes.
I guess also that some poeple want to try something more interesting and differant then the stereotipical sets people go for. But thats my opinion..
In my opinion invulnerability has turned more into a defence based set, the resistence is only good for smashing/lethal 9and maybe toxic) also gotta love the lvl 38 power.
lvl 38 power = Unstoppable, right? :P
Love the power, hate the animation...
"I'm unstoppable! *pounds chest* ooga booga!"
The brute invul looks completely [theres only a handful of words here that can discribe how it looks without being removed]
I was going to make one but then they didnt want people to play invul brutes, they made this clear by making it look totally stupid.
I am not going to turn this into a debate about taste... Just saying that those who actually have taste prefer the blackish aura over the old teletubbyland-camouflage.
I have an EM/Inv brute, but he has not seen much love since I started playing my electric brute. Perhaps I will give him one more chance... but I just like toons with good (or at least existent) energy management, because they fit my playstyle better.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.
My 50 SS/Inv brute plays like a dream, sure in the mid to late 30's i had some real end probs but as soon as you manage your slots to compensate for this they rock.
Not really having any end probs now and the probs i do have are fixed straight away with necking a few end insps.
And yes lvl 38 inv power is unstoppable
since i got stamina, even with only 2 SOs in I hardly have any down time

Stupid in what way may I ask?
I have a invulnerability brute.
I didn't know that I picked Dark Armor by accident. D: Why is it almost as dark as Dark Armor anyway? That's just weird. If they wanted to pick a more evil colour, at least choose something other than something which already exists on another powerset.
The noise is generally okay, except for the mez protection toggle, Unyielding. I honestly don't understand why they haven't done anything similiar to what they did with Targeting Drone and that Dark Armor power where the noise is activated, but lasts for about 3 seconds before fading out. It's just so loud all the time. >_<

The DA toggle was far more bearable than Unyielding in sound for a start. Its like walking around with a glowy on your back

I wouldn't know anything about how it sounds, as my volume is set to 0.
But to miss the sounds of things burning......... cant be doing that. Also nice when you team with an Ice dom and hear Glacier (best sound in the game) too many good sounds ruined by a few bad ones

Yeah i play with zero sound and music of my choice. Better imo
I've been playing a bit of CoV on Union lately and I've figured Inv brutes are quite rare (actually I haven't seen any on my level range). The most common sets now seems to be Elecs and Stones. So, I went to my planner to compare Inv and Elec resists and it seems Elec got a pretty good advantage over Inv (except on toxic and slight difference on S/L numbers).
I've also been asking around why are there so few Inv's and the most common asnwer I get is "Elecs are way better.".
I'm not an expert on Invulnerability set, but shouldn't the defence bonus and Dull Pain offer better survivability than Elec?
