Bioluminescent sounds pretty cool. Pics would be greatly appreciated.

Holy crap, is that the Monarch?
In all seriousness however, I think the strongest argument against an Anime Booster Pack would be that their are SO many Anime-based MMORPGs already available. Most of them free too. It would be like putting out a Medieval Booster pack that would give Armor and Robe costumes. Those themes have been done, and are pretty prevalent on a lot of the competitions' products.
I find one of the biggest strengths to the CoX IP is that it lends itself as a niche-filler. The universe that the players inhabit when they play this game can range from Werewolves to Space Aliens to Special Ops Mercenaries. Given that strength, I would think it would behoove ParagonStudios to focus on those outside niche markets rather than try and re-do what's already been done. In that vein, I would buy an Arabian Night, or Victorian (Nemesis anyone?) Booster Pack over an Anime one. -

We were somewhere around Brickstown, on the edge of the war wall, when the memes began to take hold. I remember saying something like "I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should post?"
Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full of what looked like huge trolls, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car.

Have you tried VLC? I've had a lot of success with it. It has an 'Always on top' feature and 'minimal' mode that allows me to play my media with ease while always having a ready interface overlay on top of whatever it is I'm doing in CoX.
One of the nicer aspects I've found with it is that I'm not just restricted to songs, but movies as well if I don't mind resizing the view window down a bit. Since I don't have convient access to a television given the location of my computer, it's nice to still be able to watch DVDs or whatnot while playing.
On a side note, I remember Champions Online released with a frontend for Winamp, but I don't remember using it very much despite having downloaded Winamp exclusively for play through the frontend. Couldn't tell you why I ditched it, but I'm sure their was some aspect of it's use that I was unhappy with. -
I wouldn't say Virtue goes down all the time, but... <insert priceless innuendo here>

A few recommendations from my Watch Instantly Queue, so you don't have to 'waste' a DVD delivery on checking them out.
Seems that you like Zombie movies, try American Zombie. It's a mockumentary, so not as dry as some documentary's can be. Fictional and engaging with strong character development.
A weird listing if you haven't already seen it. Bubba Ho-Tep. Stars Bruce Campbell as an aging Elvis living his twilight years in a nursing home. Oh yeah, and a mummy wants to eat his soul.
Given this is a forum revolving around a game based on Superheros I feel I would be remiss not to mention Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog. About 40 mins starring Neil Patrick Harris as an evil scientist. *Warning* This is a musical, so don't be surprised over the amount of singing the cast participates in.
Feeling British? The IT Crowd: Seasons 1-3. Very surprised that I don't read or see more about this show in my general web crawling. Maybe I need to expand my territory, but regardless, an excellent show.
I think that's it for now, not much in the sci-fi department I'm afraid. And like I said, all on Instant, so if they're just not doing it for you, just delete and move on. -

Sprunk Cola ... talk to Coca Cola have them make real Sprunk Cola and you can advertise it in game, which you already do. Limited time only... you get free advertising and we get a limited edition pop, plus Coke gets a free advertising in the game... -
Full Large inspirations on level up. Makes sewer teams all that much smoother.

On my Huntsman went with Arbiter Evans, simple and a nice use of the Arbiter title I felt. On my new Fortunata, ditched the Arachnos costume @ 10 and went with a non-canon type of character I named 'Panzer Magier'. The def and mez protection is phenomenal on a blasty type of character, and the psionic damage +immob/hold -recharge effects have been pretty impressive so far. More often than not I find myself taking the alpha on larger teams with good heals from Corruptors or MMs to back me up.

I think an evil force has taken residence in the house of Paragon Studios. This is not the first dark and terrifying omen that I have found in Issue 17.
The new sound effects car horns, sniffles, coughs may seem like innocent flavor additions, but try playing them backwards sometime!
And Ultra Mode, yeah real shiny. So shiny I was gazing at my character's reflection in one of the windows of a building. Just on a lark, I said Jack Emmert's name 50 times, and he came out of the glass, and nerfed all my powerslots.
And the changes to the BotZ set, a change for balance they say? Nay my friends, it was actually a nerf to the term 'Blessing'!
For the house of Paragon will have no such holy phrases housed within it's sinful walls!
Can I get an Amen? -
Great guide Silas, entertaining and educational as always.

So anyone else have this problem? Running Ninja Run on my Huntsman and now when I stop to spray lead death on an unsuspecting spawn, my gun just keeps on hanging back behind me while I pointlessly shoot the ground. Animation plays, hit is registered against the opponent, and I'm left disappointed with it's performance.
I haven't played my SoA for quite some time, and not since I bought the MA booster pack. Has this always been an issue? Is it new with I17? Any acknowledgement on the part of the devs?
In the mean time, respeced to a melee Bane and traded in the rat-tat-tat for pew-pew-smash. Hope I didn't make a big mistake. -
Quote:I'm hardly a physicist here, but I was under the impression the speed of light is a constant. And that it was the 'hard cap' in regards to potential for speed in the universe. The actual glow from radiation is Čerenkov radiation, created when charged particles pass through a medium where the speed of light is lower than the speed the particles are moving, and has a distinctive blue glow, characteristically visible in storage or cooling pools containing radioactive material:
But on a note that is a bit more inline with the thread, yeah retro 50's green radiation is pretty cool and quite identifiable. Colored my MM attacks the same way as well. -
Will the 3.66% DDR loss make a huge impact in your level of play?
I know half the fun is just topping out these numbers, but if the absolute best you can hope for still gives you a 5% chance for failure, what's another 3.66% If it's going to fail, it's going to fail despite your best efforts to prevent it otherwise. I think the value you've attained is pretty impressive, and in the grand scheme of AV battling or just general farming (which I assume is the purpose of your toon) I don't think you'll miss the DDR that much.
Just my 0.02. -
Working on a perma AM/Hasten toon myself. Would you mind posting your Ar/Rad build for us to see? Also was curious as to when would be the earliest one could hope to achieve this goal.

Thanks Umbral, much obliged.

So I started a Rad/DP Defender this weekend, and was lucky enough to get an Achilles' Heel proc recipe. Great! The only problem I'm having is trying to find the right power to slot it in. My question is if I were to slot Achilles' Heel into say RI or EF, would the chance to proc only apply to the anchor, or would the chance to proc apply to any mobs the anchor happened to 'infect'?
Also, since DP has a fair number of AoE attacks that are DoTs, would slotting the Achilles' Heel in one of these powers allow for a re-roll on a chance to proc with each tick of the DoT? If so, would multiple successes stack?
I appologize if these tactics are already covered in player created guides, however many of the ones that have been stickied are several issues old, and I did not want to plan my build on changed or obsolete game mechanics. Thanks in advance for any assistance on this issue. -
Favorite moments?
Leveling my first and only 50 blueside, elec/elec/elec blaster. Endurance shutdown is awesome, and became even more impressive when I saw how much easier an kin/elec defender could do it.
First time using Fulcrum Shift.
Soloing purple bosses on my Ill/Kin controller, during double XP weekend!
Nights in the Pocket D listening to The Cape Radio and just cycling through dance emotes and chit-chatting. The Halloween costume event where the theme was to show up as the toon that would most likely violate a copyright. Proud to say my Dr. Jonas Venture Jr. character won a full set of costume salvage.
Costume contests in AP. Don't see those much anymore.
First time entering Croatoa. -

Eee PC's will not run CoH above 2 FPS (I've tried!)
But seriously a great guide. Your assertions regarding performance are correct. I've dialed back alot of the shiny from CoH to get the framerates in a respectable 30fps range. It's hardly ideal but it's hard to argue with a machine that can play CoH pretty much anywhere you want to go, weighs less than 6lbs and costs less than 500 dollars. -
What effect is this going to have on damage output potential of a defender versus corruptor?
If we use the damage scalar as any kind of indication, Defenders sit at 0.65 ranged with Corruptors at 0.75 ranged. Unless I'm off on my math here, I would imagine this would indicate a 10% difference in damage in general between the two ATs. If that's the case, the extra 20% a level 20+ solo defender would reap would be quite significant when comparing damage.
This would only leave the bursty, random, overkill mechanic of scourge to even out the numbers.
As long as the defender stays solo, or even if the defender takes on 1 or 2 team mates, they can still match or beat the corruptor's damage before calculating scourge strikes. Now weigh this against the buff modifiers both ATs receive and the defender looks like a clear winner.
Not that I disparage the defender AT it's buff, far from it, they certainly have had it coming for quite some time, I just wonder where this leaves corruptors now.
