In addition to the Honorable Badge, each character can claim a power that, when activated, will completely remove any map of Fog of War.

Another thing worth noting is that SW:OR is also based on an entirely different business model (microtransactions).

Where did you hear that? I'm pretty sure it's going to be a $14.95 a month MMO.

Oh I would so love an Oranbega expansion. THAT I think would be way more fun for me, than moon or sea stuff. I love oranbega.

Small dark caves with random teleporters? No thank you...

This power would be god-like in PvP.

The Steam community forums have among the most unreadable image captchas I've ever encountered.

You must be a robot then! Robot!!!
  6. If you're not full, my character Evilanna needs the Synapse badge to get the TF accolade.
  7. I should also mention that until we start seeing more Hall of Fame arcs, there is an entire subset of Architect badges that are impossible for anyone to earn.

Remember this badgers: every time you rate an arc low because of some perverse pleasure, you're preventing yourself from earning 5 badges. People are willing to pay good money for badges, but clicking little stars is something they can't muster up.

but there is a saying in engineering:
The product is complete not when there is nothing left to add, but rather when there is nothing left that can be removed.

Maybe if you're a very utilitarian engineer.

Did you hammer on the console of the Millenium Falcon as you said it?

    Insert Wookie noises here.
  10. I wrote down your arc number because I'm a huge Azumanga Daioh fan and I wanted to test it out.

But I've only ever watched Azumanga in Japanese... So it might be a little weird...

Also, if you get the "An Error Has Occurred" message after buying the pack, check your list of Unused serial numbers for it.

    Definitely, I accidently bought two...

    Paragon Studios? More villain hate!!

Swanky...what does this mean for funding/employees/content? More, less, same?

    So many questions...

Don't worry, I hear City of Villains is being developed by Rogue Isles Studio.

Actually, that sounds kind of cool.
  13. Try setting your special boss as a AV or EB.

What's the deal with airline food??

when you test a mission you get no xp or tickets.
but if you publish it and run it you get both.

So unless you already have 3 arcs published, there is no benefit to you to run a mission in test mode instead of publishing and then playing.

if you don't want xp - turn off xp. But why would you not want the tickets at least?

    [/ QUOTE ]

But then you don't get any of the delicious, delicious badges that come with testing.

As for putting unfinished stuff up for the public to view, I find that no one ever plays my arcs anyway unless I ask them.
  16. I've seen a tech map where you start at a portal and there are various portals in different states of assembly if that's what you're looking for.

That one seems to be pretty popular in MA.

I would say you need to unlock this but i never heard of these kind of maps. When do you get this in the game normally?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've seen this map in Safeguard Missions as side-quests before.

Actually, I think your system is actually good for the ratings system. No one is going to pay you a million unless they think the arc is good and they're making a go of it. It lets us sort out the arcs people have put love into from those that are just a joke. I'd pay you, but I have plenty of friends to 5 star my arcs for me already.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A million is nothing. If that's all people charge, I can get a really crappy arc into the hall of fame and still have influence left over.
  19. I think this is such a neat idea, and as I'm playing the game right now, I've decided to play your mission.

If you don't mind, I'd like to offer you some (hopefully useful and constructive) criticism.

First off, I suggest you change the name slightly. "A Not So Happy Birthday" sounds a little less sad than "An Unhappy Birthday" I think.

Second, your mission contact is the generic hologram. It would be way cooler if you built an actual contact to grant the mission. Maybe make Statesman the mission contact.

Third, I suggest changing the glowie text to "You help Super Kid open the present. I wonder what it could be!" because I felt bad for opening all of Super Kid's presents for him.

Fourth, I suggest making some of the Super Family members just follow-along-and-not-fight types. The mission got a little crowded with alies and I found that the enemies tended to die very quickly. I often couldn't even get a shot off. Maybe make the last three family members non-combat?

Fifth, the mission felt a little too short. May I suggest you add an end boss? Maybe Lord Recluse himself is the party crasher. Because of all the allies, most people could probably take him on.

All in all, it was a fun mission. I really enjoyed it and I loved the sentiment, so I gave you 5 stars.

Oh, and a very happy birthday to Super Kid!

    MA wish list

Mark new arcs as "new," mark published arcs that have been edited as "updated."

Yes, how about a MA inbox. It would make email useful for once.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seems like a good idea to me, a separate e-mail inbox for MA feedback.
  22. Yay! I'm excited. I haven't tried I14 yet, I thought I'd wairt till it went live to try it out.
  23. Considering how many posts are in this thread, it seems I'm very late to the party.

But, it seems to me that all the people who object to the merger of the markets haven't seriously played a villain character or tried to buy and sell in the Black Market with a villain character.

If you asked me six or eight months ago if they should merge the markets, I would have said "no." Why? Because even though I occasionally played my villains and had villain characters, I mainly played my heroes and had just recently got my first level 50 hero and my first Kheldians.

I've completely changed my mind. They need to merge the markets, and they need to do it just to make Red Side a bit more playable. Right now, it is very difficult to sell stuff on the villain market. I can leave a full Black Market that will take weeks to sell more than a few pieces. This is very frustrating when you can't afford IOs and you need quick cash, and it means that I have less room for enhancements, salvage and recipes because I'm storing it instead of being able to sell it.

It can also be difficult to buy on the Black Market. Because the market is so small, it's prone to manipulation, price gouging, and inactivity. If you think selling is hard, how about buying stuff? Let's face it: there are far less villains than heroes. It's going to take me far longer, and probably be far more expensive, for me to buy all the salvage I need to build IOs. The frustration level is definitely higher than when I build more IOs than I know what to do with with my heroes.

So I would say that the Black Market is a huge quality of life issue for villains. The game is simply less enjoyable because of frustrations with the stupid market.

Saying "it ruins the RP aspect of the game, my hero would never buy and sell from villains," then you need to get your priorities straight. Hanging onto unmerged markets because of an RP thing is damaging the play experience of villains for petty reasons.

I wonder if he's still with the company.

Time for a second post, Mapolis!

He appears again in the Easter Egg room in the revised Faultline: Mike and Melissa (aka, War Witch) are hanging out in that room. I'm 99% positive he came over to NCNC with the IP buyout: Dev Tracker.

He's listed as working for Cryptic rather than NCNC in your link.
