It doesn't take a table to see that those attacks have ridiculously long animation times. And as Silverado said, long animations = low DPA.

  4. Who cares if you can't solo? You'll be the most important member of the team. Support simply rules this game. Sure, you'll need some offensive output too, but that's what the other teammates are for!

And yes, it would be overpowered: in a team setting.
  5. I don't usually go into the tanking mindset on my Brute, but I keep an eye on the de/buffers so that they can have an easier time to apply their stuff. Even keeping the mezzers occupied is enough most of the time.
  6. Fortunata Mistresses: the reason why you would want a Stalker on your team.

That would mean a 2%-11% speed boost to the current Fly speed cap (currently at 58.6mph). While a 2% boost would be pretty meaningless, a 11% boost would actually be noticeable. At least when going long distances.

Also, 65mph cap would mean that Fly and SJ would be the same in relation to how SS and SJ are right now. So it would always rise around 20% when going "up" in the speed tier, that is, Fly -> SJ -> SS. SJ would be ~20% faster than Flight, and SS is already ~20% faster than SJ already.

Fly would still be slowest travel power, but would at least not be as tedious as it currently is.

Transference doesn't drain in an AoE, it only drains from the target. The pseudopet summoned under the target however does grant endurance to you and your allies in an AoE.

But in all those cases, you'd keep your T9, but lose your level 34 set bonuses.
    Secondaries have tier 9s, too.

Isn't Poisonous Ray's -Res (and -Def) set not to stack from the same caster?
  13. I'd still take CJ even if it granted no defense. All that air control with Hurdle is just that good, you'll avoid more damage by having better maneuverability.

PB knockback is rather strong, so they become more than "a little scattered".

Maybe they did compensate, but then the PB knocks most of the spawn away anyway before the long animation (4s) finishes? The power doesn't "lock on" like Fireball does, that is, if you activate Fireball before the enemies are scattered, you'll still hit them. RoA instead summons a pseudopet that does three seperate PBAoE ticks, then dies. If the enemies have run (or knocked) away, too bad.

This has happened to me many times when using Lightning Rod, just as the animation (2.67s) is about to finish, super KB out of nowhere, boom. Maybe two minions fall over (those which didn't get knocked back), but it feels like a huge waste.

It meant that rather as a rhetorical question, but I'll bite.

Many other blast sets also have KB, Stuns (or Holds) added on top of their dominant secondary effect. For example, Ice Blast's secondary effect is -Rchg and -Spd, but it also has access to -Tohit (BIB, Blizzard) and Knockdown (Blizzard).

    From the ingame description:
    Quote:
The Assault Rifle is a state-of-the-art piece of hardware.
It is equipped to handle an impressive arsenal of munitions and firing modes. The Assault Rifle is also equipped with the latest in targeting technology, and is a very accurate weapon.
Alright, it does have a very small accuracy bonus (1.05) on most powers, but I wouldn't say it's super accurate or anything. There is already one set whose secondary effect is being "super accurate" (1.155), and that's Archery, which also gets the same Stun and KB that AR gets.

The rest of the ingame description just smells like RP (not that I have anything against that), but RP is a poor excuse for a lack of a real secondary effect. "But hey, at least my weapon is a state-of-the-art piece of hardware! Eat that, Fire Blast!" Sometimes I wonder if that was done tongue-in-cheek at the times of old AR model, which looked like something from Duct Tape Land.
  17. When I leveled my Nin/SR Stalker I noticed in one session that I had forgotten to put PB on auto when I got briefly stunned two hours later. Defense works pretty well as "mez protection" to some point.
  18. What's the secondary effect of AR anyway? Apart from having many AoE attacks, it's just a mixed bag of attacks, which is hardly unique in any blast set.
  19. Assault is a staple of force multiplication available to every character, besides, it doesn't need more slots (maybe a second endredux if your end is tight) than the first one, so you can use more slots elsewhere.

Alone one Assault might not be impressive, but stacked with other Assaults the effect is noticeable.

  22. Knockback is great for making your 6-year old cousin giggle.

For other things... not so much. KB is a flawed secondary effect, much like Endurance Drain is, except that (at least in Energy Blast's case) KB requires you to position correctly (takes time), and the reward is "you don't piss off your teammates".
Which other secondary effect has that? "Oh gee would you stop debuffing enemy resistance, I'm trying to do as low damage as possible!" /sarcasticstrawman. Thing is, people don't get annoyed by other secondary effects, except maybe immobilizes and slow.
Granted, sometimes you get lucky with that 50% AoE KB and conveniently push enemies into tar patches, ice slicks, etc. Most of the time you're just paying the price for playing a set with no real secondary effect, just a tack-on that has a cool novelty value, but no real practical purpose compared than say, -ToHit or -Res.
Why have a set riddled with a bunch of random chances for KB when you could play a more effective set that can optionally get a KB power if they wish? Of all Corruptor primaries at least, only Electric and Fire don't have any sort of KB. Dark Blast and Sonic Attacks also have 100% AoE KB powers, and by their reliability you can actually count on them working, something that even Energy doesn't touch with its random KB. Power Push and Nova are exceptions, but even then PP is ST and Nova is on a really long timer. That's pretty lame for a set that is supposed to be specialized in KB.

But yeah, KB is fun, I guess. I like to use M30 Grenade (with its random 50% KB), but I save that for cleaning up after Flamethrower -> Full Auto -> Flamethrower.
