I hope they'll be looked at...especially the ones that do -90% HP and -100% End....
-
Come on devs we had a deal....I bought one extra enhancement storage for 25% off in exchange for tray # 2 (# 3 really) for 50% off when trays 4 and 5 (3 and 4) came out!
You backed away from the dealBooo...

If melee is your game then Kinetics is your friend!
That was the biggest draw to me when I first started to play the game. I could be in melee range (and wanted to be in melee range for the heals!) but still have the ability to attack from range when the mobs ran away (and it was really bad back in the day so much so that I hated playing melee toons).
Kin/Rad Def. ftw!
I could be biased though... -
Quote:See that? That is a wonderful thing called missing the point.
The majority of Hero arcs, i.e. the old, Issue 0, Issue 1 and above stuff, while awful mechanics wise, still treat you like the big freaking Hero. You save the day, rescue the girl/guy and defeat the Big Bad. The new arcs simply do that much, much better. With better writing and mechanics.
The majority of Villain arcs, however, again the old stuff, are NOT like that. You don't get to be the big freaking villain, you get to be lackey #502. You get to be an errand runner and minion. The newer Villain stuff FINALLY does away with that pile of bull-doos and lets you be the big freaking Villain...like ALL Villain content should be. This isn't City of Lackeys, it's City of Villains. Ergo.
You also missed the point about co-op, i.e. 'For the greater good'. I'm a VILLAIN. I don't do 'Good'. It's part of the job title. They *need* my help, therefore I am damn well going to get something out of it. Whether that is loot, souls, magical mcguffins or cold hard cash doesn't matter; Villains should never be written in as badly as "Oh, well, guess I'd better play nice again, eh?"
I know what you're saying, you want more "villainous" content where you get to stab people in the eyes and watch them bleed to death (hyperbole).
My point that you seem to miss is that you are getting "Villain" content (the story arcs not coop stuff)...whether or not you like it is another point together. -
Yep community (sgmates/friends/etc...) definitely kept me subscribed for some time when things were slow to release (issues, updates and what not).

Quote:
I'm pretty certain that IS what's being talked about here. Nearly all the Hero arcs allow you to be the BFH (Big Freaking Hero), while the majority of Villainside are, still, you get to be the lackey or Arachnos, someone else or whatever. ....
So what you're saying is both sides (heroes/villains) are getting new content (story arcs)? Yes? Glad we agree
My point is, you may not like the villain content (story arcs) but you are getting the content. If the devs were only pouring out Co-op and hero only content then yes I can see the point but there are equal story arcs going out.
QUATERFIELD....there's no 'r' to make him a quarter...(I do it all the time too
)
Well that's stretching it since that was for replacing content since the TF giver 'died'....although to be honest I don't think it was needed.
Still that's about the only new thing that only heroes got. -
Well thank you to all that could come out last night. No badges were awarded but we did complete the trial 3x (3rd time was just a normal run).
So there were a few people that didn't seem to listen to instructions and have taken note of them...
I'm not the type to not invite people if there's room but let's just say they have been put on a 'short' list so-to-speak.
I have a few ideas to use next Monday on hopefully culling any "oops I didn't know this was a badge run!" issues.
One will be just to announce which badges I'll be going for here and then others will be in-game things to do.
I'll always (unless something comes up) be running 3 Mag. itrials a night.
With that being said:
NEXT Monday (July 30th, 2012) I will be leading the Mag. iTrial for the following two badges:
Triple Threat
Hard Way
TT will be done the first run and depending on how things go, HW will be the next run.
Depending on how things go with the 1st and 2nd run I'll lead the 3rd run as an attempt for the RHW badge.
Please note the last run of the Mag. iTrial will be my attempt to get the RHW badge (unless the first two runs don't go smoothly and/or I'm tired of cat herding to that degree). -
Quote:Repel only works on Tilman once she is able to be controlled. All cases but TK are detrimental, however.
...
Okay so I interpreted what you said wrong then.
I thought you were saying that TK was able to be used to stop Tilman from walking BEFORE she got hit from the EB's death debuff thingy.
Therefore I thought it was a bug -
Quote:Actually, it's still identical even at the end. Pure blue Heroes still have the option to stab Tielekku. In fact, the only difference I saw was in earning the Buddy Cop badge. Villains have the option of not saving the Detective.
I thought it was weird heroes have the option to stab her as well.
I think the "bad" thing about the whole option there is the villain temp power you get from stabbing her is better than saving/releasing her
Could be wrong though. -

It's unfortunate that yet another person is in the "forget the minority" boat. We're still playing. There are some of us who are primarily redsiders. The answer to the question of "more content for villains" should NOT be "marginalize that segment of the playerbase."
Weird I thought I was in the "forget the majority" boat...
I mean, heroes haven't received any "hero only" content in a long time too! (again beyond the story arcs that each side got).
What I'm saying is that neither side will be getting one whole issue (or what have ya) to JUST them. It's not worth it. Co-op is here to stay (probably one of the reasons why the Shadow Shard zone hasn't been re-done because it'd be Hero only and that's a huge zone (huge zones!)).
So put me in whatever boat you want, I'll be having fun -
Is "this is going to be good" because the drink(ing) is good or because you like watching train wrecks? (or both?)
Quote:Barring the usual 'for the greater good' nonsense and the lack of villainy (that irks me no end too), I've always maintained that any future zones should follow the Rikti War Zone format. In that zone alone, you have:
1) Decent non-facepalming story arcs (great for soloists and teams alike),
2) A fun, fast Task Force (great for teams) and
3) The Mother Ship Raid (for leagues).
Also, this zone also introduced Vanguard Merits. Although more or less redundant now, they matched all three paths above in terms of speed so we had the slow, fast and extremely fast methods of obtaining them. I'd say in terms of balance, it's about the most complete package the Devs have ever delivered in a zone. Now if they would follow this way of thinking for all things Incarnate, I wouldn't be so put off the whole system.
As for villains, agreed, we need more stories about being the bad guy and not some hired goon. D-Mac and Leonard again set the standard here. I want to see precisely no more co-op content introduced with some kind of 'heroes and villains must team up to defeat... blah blah blah' kind of baloney. Sick of it to my back teeth by now.
I agree about the RWZ being pretty good on a whole.
I find it interesting though that "Villains" are so demanding about content only for them. I just don't see it happening (beyond story arcs like Leonard/etc...) just like there isn't any new content just for heroes (again, beyond story arcs).
I just don't think there is enough population villain-side to be on the plus side of ROI for the devs to do so....could be wrong.
Only thing that I'd be all for is a new SF for the villains in a lvl range or two that they are missing (or just need to have a "duplicate of" so that new WSTs can be done for both heroes and villains). -
Quote:Oh really?!? I never thought of that (then again my Mind/Emp Controller doesn't have TK so.....
MoM:
Psy resists are great. Telekenisis can turn around Tillman in the well portion.
....).
So you can use TK on Tilman before she's able to be mez'd from the exploding EBs?
I would think that's a bug...
Edit:
If that's the case anything with repel in it should work yes? Hurricane, Kinetics' Repel, FF's Repel bubble (forgot name).... -
Quote:The worst part is, most of the Shard TFs actually have a pretty cool story it's just the long mission list that makes them annoying.
Take Faathim the Kind. The basic plot that there are 5 different villain groups fighting to try and gain control of the Storm Palace is a pretty interesting setup. The problem is that this requires nine separate door missions (plus the three kill alls to "prove yourself") to get the seven keys needed to stop them.
If I were redoing it I'd probably do it something like this:
....
Again I haven't really read the stories behind the Shadow Shard TFs but I did (and do) like them overall (just hate the grinding of the TFs as well as the no cell phone thing...). -
Quote:Numina's TF:....
"Go rescue kidnapped guy!...No, wait, not that kidnapped guy...no, not that one either...no, wait, which one? I dunno. Go rescue that kidnapped guy so we can figure out which kidnapped guy we're supposed to rescue...Okay, it's that kidnapped guy but I have no freaking clue where who kidnapped him, so go beat people up until we figure out who actually kidnapped kidnapped guy...oh, but he was dead all along, not kidnapped, silly me, uh, go fight an AV, I guess."
haha spot on.
Although to be honest, I've never really read the Numina's TF "story"....but that seems spot on -
Quote:Numina needs a complete rewrite of the TF. It was created to be a "grand farewell tour" of all the zones that existed in the then-gameworld when you hit level cap at 40. Now, not only is the level cap higher, zones have been repurposed and just removed from the hunt.
The only think I like about Numina conceptually is a very superhero group comic concept - "Bad things are happening all over the city, You two, go there. You two, go there, you two, come with me". That's proven difficult/impossible to do with the current game engine, which is a pity. And the concept isn't worth the obsolete time-wasting hunt.
So forget the various group red herrings. This is the Devouring Earth task force. Two or three missions piecing together the plot, one mission to almost stop the devouring earth, and the finale.
Synapse and Citadel - would love to see a complete rewrite of them, but simple blue pencil work would make them far better. "There are three missions where the players do the same damn thing in a row. Cut it to one mission. These missions are defeat all without any story reason, make them final goal only. This mission does have a story reason, make it a smallish map."
As for Manticore - I enjoy it mechanically, but yeah, it's kind of a weak story. The problem is that it's 30-35, and 40-45 is where Crey is completely exposed as yup, corrupt from the top down, and you take down the countess. If the Manticore TF proves the Countess is a crook and locks her up, the arc 10 levels later becomes anti-climatic.
So for a story instead, make it one of the "crey scientists get in over their head." They've been playing with arraknoid DNA and working on improving cloning techniques (never revealed in the TF what the cloning might be used for), create a monster that must be stopped - and once it's down, Hopkins shows up, "You've saved the world, 'heroes', but nobody can know what happened here."
I'll agree with every said/quoted here.
Numina is annoyingly-bad because of the hunts (especially a few of them like the Baumtown hunt because of the 5th Column and Council killing each other; taking your kills away).
Synapse is bad because of the defeat alls.
Citadel is bad because of the defeat alls along with the "hey we just did this" feeling.
Manticore is decent game play wise...the story is boring though. Like others have said, "we beat up the bodyguard of Crey!....hooray!... >_>"
Then we have all of the Shadow Shard TFs....those definitely need to be scaled down (from 10000 defeat all and hunt missions to just like, oh I don't know....1 or 2).

Sweet...I usually don't use IO sets until lvl 50 and just go with common IOs for all my toons.
This makes me happy(ier) to see that it's still goodI haven't touched Bio Armor or Nature Affinity since they first came out. :|

On the down side, they have said that there are no immediate plans for this buff/boost/re imaging to happen.
It is like "yes, we know it is broken, but we need to form a council to form a board to form a committee to form a consensus to think about looking in its general direction". It is like something out of an English comedy.
At least it doesn't require an "act of congress".... -
hehe nice.
8+ years for me....started back in Feb. 2004 (CoH beta)...good times. -

Quote:To be honest, I don't check...That's normally true, but even before converters appeared there were times when things like PvP or Purple recipes would sell for more than the crafted IOs... people don't usually check.
Then again I don't buy a lot (beyond salvage)... -
Quote:What Organica said, plus, for a long time the recipes sold at the cap, so there was no point at all in crafting the IO before selling, so virtually none passed through the market. I guess people just stopped looking at the crafted IOs.
Weird...maybe it's cause of the different recipes/enhancements I've looked at but I've always found the crafted enhancements to be selling for more than the recipes would; even accounting for the price to craft the recipe.
*shrugs*
Quote:...There are probably plenty of "lowball" bids for the recipes as well, from people who are no longer playing.
I was just going to start a new thread for a "pat on the back" but this will suffice...
So today I was going through all of my toons (lvl 50s that I don't play often or at all lately) and actually taking inventory of what they have (in recipes, vault, AE tickets, reward merits, etc...) so that when looking for a certain thing I don't have to wonder and guess if I have it or not.
So I come to one of my brutes (claws/sr which I used to use for AE farming a bit) and was just double-checking his reward merits or something small but as I was logging out I noticed, "1 item bought at the Auction House".
I logged back into that character because I had no idea what I had bought (since I haven't played him in a good 4 months).
I open up the AH, *clicks on bought tab* O_O
I had put in a bid for a lvl 46 +3% def IO enhancement and I actually got it for 2,020,000 influence!
I look at the history and it looks like I got it in April of this year hehe.
I was (and am) happy
Edit:
I think I put the bid in when I read on the forums that people were putting up for "sale" to store money (to be over the 2b limit); things that people wouldn't buy normally. Put in a bid...a year (? who knows) later I got one heheh. -
Glad to hear you're alright!
Sad to see this happen though :|
And from what I've read, Nolan "hates" 3D so that's why there's no 3D of TDKR movie.
There is an IMAX version though... -
