    If you're big on teaming, you can run a tinmage, apex, lgtf (all out of RWZ) in about an hour total time. If you do that twice, you will have enough merits for a LotG 7.5% with some leftover. That way you can get some of the more expensive stuff fairly quickly, without hurting the wallet.
  3. the power? not really, but you can't pass up 7.5% defense for 6 slots, that's awesome.
  4. SR is only even partially viable in pvp when you have elude up (because of the elusivity bonus it provides). Otherwise, the set is meh.
    You'd be better off with a km/elec or km/regen (scrap or stalk). Having a ranged attack is good, and CS hits pretty hard, damage in pvp is directly proportional to the activation time, so CS and FB are pretty good attacks. Unfortunately, power siphon doesn't work well in pvp, so the set is typically more useful on stalkers (who get BU instead).
    There's just no way around it, resistance sets are just better in pvp these days due to numerous changes (or technically, healing /max hp sets).

    While leveling my km/inv, I only skipped confront and FB, I preferred the faster activating BB, SB, and QS over FB, and I liked having the cone, even though it did a bit of KB. from /sr, you should pretty much pick up everything asap, defense is the trick in your one-trick-pony.

    Yup. Like the miracle 4th bonus, 5% heal. Those don't help healing powers that also carry a resistance component.
  6. definitely not the case. hp set bonuses will do nothing for you if you get accolades and have perma-dull pain. Heal bonuses actually only boost dull pain, which doesn't need any additional help in the healing department. IH and Recon are unaffected by those sets, so those are largely wasted.

    You left the ForceFeedback Proc on in your build, making it look like hasten was nearly perma with your 47.5% recharge (when this much recharge isn't even enough for Dull pain to be permanent, excluding alpha boosts).

    Your defenses are pretty good, but you could've been a bit more efficient. Also your net recovery is pretty low.
    A regen's motto is "recharge, recharge, defense, moar recharge," keep that in mind :]

    I did two different builds for you, one typed, one positional, see which you like more.
    the recharge is a bit lower on the melee build, but the defense is 1 luck from 45, and Shmeld puts you over incarnate cap, and ranged/AoE get to 53, which is 6% short of 59, but still pretty good for soaking alpha strikes.
    I'm not sure which one I like more, personally.

  7. While I love my sonic, this is exactly why I've always preferred powers like AM, world of pain, and mind link, you just throw it and go.

  9. gravitational snare I think? Yeah, it's in there. slotted for damage rather than immobilize, though. I guess that could be subject to potential change if the duration is h4x0rz

    attacks have a lot of -spd, but no -fly/jump :[, so I'm not sure how well sandboxing would work. starless step would be a fun gimmicky power, but I'd think playstyle would factor in a bit more. For 1v1? it's probably not very useful.

    km/inv turned out to be one of my favorite scrapper builds, and also one of my prettiest


    Mix the glow from invuln and km with shmeld and you turn into a light form!

  14. I would say that is not a viable build plan. Building for regen on a regen does not end up well (I promise, I did it myself a long long time ago). Sure, you'll be able to kill things, but the difference between that build and an SOd one would be minimal.
    In a Regen build, you don't want to build for more regen as a priority. The regen motto is "Recharge, recharge, defense, moar recharge,"
    You will find that your survivability will be much, much higher with more recharge and defense than it would be if you stacked a couple more hp/sec into your build.

    With that said, however, that doesn't mean sacrificing what you do for what you want in set bonuses. Meaning - don't slot your attacks with anything other than damaging sets. You do want to kill things quickly, yes?

    The recharge you want is for MG to recharge in (at most) the cast times of 2 smites and 1 siphon life (which is 4.488 seconds). (for the top chain MG - Smite - SL - smite)

    To demonstrate what I mean, I put together a dm/regen that doesn't use purples or pvps (since you didn't in your build), that has enough recharge for the chain, has good defenses to m/r/a, and didn't really have to sacrifice much regen for it at all (lightly slotted fast healing/health)

    I know the build has 1 too many 5%s, that's because I normally would have put a hecatomb in the build, but to keep the defense and recharge values where I wanted them, I just flipped it to a crushing impact set. It was more for enhancement value, anyway, to meet the recharge requirement (touch of death didn't cut it)

    24% ranged and AoE is a pretty high value for someone that doesn't come with defense built in, and melee is 33.3, which is 1 luck away from softcap (45%). Shmeld pushes you to about 61 and 51. the incarnate soft-cap is 59%. So melee will be incarnate capped at least with this build, while ranged and AoE will be close.

    Couldn't decide if starless step was worth keeping or not, so I ended up switching it up with Mire (which would unfortunately have limited usefulness unless fighting a MM or something)
    Good stealth, good perception, 53 kb protection (with no acrobatics), good enough recov and regen, 1700 hp, self heals, phase, 3 good range attacks and 2 good melees (of which 1 will be especially useful). I think the only thing I'm not satisfied with would be movement speeds, but those are kind of hard to figure up with DR, so I just heavily stacked runspeeds over-cap hoping it would be roughly the right amount.

  19. I've been fighting with myself for the last few days over this, primarily between keeping flashing steel or not.
    The final decision fell on dropping it, because, if the trend continues, the enemies we fight will continue to be over-sized, and a melee cone like that will have a hard time hitting more than a few enemies.
    The other problem for me was that I am not going to drop SJ, I will not rely on temps. With those two specifications, I pretty much couldn't keep tactics, either.
    I also broke down and decided it would probably be better for me in the end to get out of mako mastery (even though water spout is awesome), and get into Soul, where the party's at.

    Using the rebirth approach we've been discussing, I *think* this is what I want. The only real thing that stands out is no kismet or tactics, so SD is a bit low on accuracy, but everything else is fine (vs +3s) (missing isn't a huge deal to me, however, and if I'm fighting something higher than that, I'm bound to have at least 1 tohit buff around me).
