Haha, while I believe it is clear that Street Justice is not made of nerf...
I'm really not sure why people would consider a power that was available for a while in a beta, and then lowered to an effectiveness well below general expectation... could not be considered "nerfed".
Again 1) This is not the case with Street Justice 2) "nerf" is a term that gets way over-used and should be limited to cases that compare to a sharp metal sword that gets turned into a soft, foam-padded toy sword 3) Beta or live, if sword gets turned into a toy, how is that not a nerf?

Quote:I completely understand.I made a dark/dark scrapper and I was watching a friend of mine playing his fire/fire.
Suddenly I noticed a nice fiery effect on the mobs, they were burning!
I asked him what was that and he told me: "It's reactive interface"
I said: "Cool, I'll dye mine darkish and rock!"
then he said: "You can't dye this one."
Really?
You can dye all incarnate powers but interface?that's bs... I don't want my dark/dark toon to burn mobs on fire!!
"Then don't get it!"
yeah..I will not.
But I'm here to ask:
Which other interface looks darkish? I don't mind if it's not as good as the dot, or resist debuff, I want it for character concept more than anything else.
Unfortunately, none of them really match Dark powers.
They all have that Incarnate/Well of the Furies light orange glow look.
Some of them are more subtle than others. Reactive is the only one that looks like fire (I'd say that is the least subtle of the bunch).
I truly wish we could customize those effects as well. They pretty much hard coded visual representation of these powers coming from the well and not something we can freely customize (even Judgment powers have that orange glow as we summon/build-up the attacking power effect).
What I did was I hopped on the Test Server and crafted each of the Reactive Powers and tested them to see what they looked like. -
Quote:Ummm... I know you're upset because you didn't get your points right away... Breath, relax, understand we're not against you...okay yes i realize i got my points and tokes for september I am talking about OCTOBER!
look at your calander is says Oct.1 (well maybe Oct.2 in some places)...okay we got that cleared up?
Now my billing cycle is the first of each month.... we understand that? good!
so that means on Oct. 1 i should be getting 400 points and a reward token and I didn't!
Now there is truly legitimate reason to ask questions and raise a concern.
However... did you actually read the post you replied to?
Quote:Well how many points did you get when the I21 came out? Still not clear how we got 4 months worth of points for July, August and September.
Was this intentional? Did we receive points for June to July, July to August, August to September and September to October?
Maybe we already got our October points...
It is a legitimate thought/point/question, since we really don't know what is going on.
I hope we didn't get 'em already... The more I get, the better! -

Very interesting!
Even if the changes are subtle, I can understand how some would not have liked it (and still don't).
Quote:Are those images from before or after the renaming/merging/replacing that has been mentioned? Here are Faces 1-13 as they existed shortly after CoV was released (included are Hostile 1-5 and Scarred 1-6).
Those faces are still there with the addition of other neutral stance faces. The ones currently in the creator, if they are more shade-y can probably be chalked up to high resolution ultra mode.

Quote:See, that's exactly what I was thinking. To be honest, although I have read previous version of Starfire I didn't care that much that they had changed her character. I simply found the new version offensive. Had it been a totally new character I would have also found it offensive.
...
And, not so much "offensive" as just bad. Awkwardly bad. I don't care to sit and waste my time reading things so mind-numbingly simple/dumb/what's-the-point. Different preferences/opinions for different people, of course - Those are just mine.
Quote:...
It does make me wonder though.
Are they writting with popular stereotype of a comic book geek in mind,
or
did they
actually find people who fit that stereotype to write???
...
Do the creators know how trite this is? Are they going to be making an interesting point of all of this eventually? Will there be a valid payoff? Or is this supposed to be entertaining me in a way that it is most certainly not?
Regardless... unless I have built up an immense amount of trust in the artist that is delivering the material that makes me ask those questions... I'm done with it, hehe.
Honestly, I liked Durakken's O.P. and agree with the theme..."shallow". -
Quote:With all of the hours of ustream (and the VK transcripts) I can't always remember if it was there or in a red name post... or both. The devs have gone on record saying the free transfers will stack. I just can't find the dang post.
However, it has definitely been stated that the transfers stack. -
Yeah, I don't think that has changed. And, like Sam said, it is a targeted AoE. Which means, that could be a 12 foot radius 7 feet away from you.
Quote:While I, personally, don't see any difference with this terminology before or after something goes live... I just say keep the "nerf" usage to when something is actually reduced too much, to the point of taking it from powerful (or even over-powered) to worthless.I'm not nearly as numbers-centric as many on these boards, but I also recall as EvilGeko does.
Also, Ultimus, I'd reserve the word "nerf"- which has strong negative connotations- for something that has its performance reduced AFTER it is released. It carries the weight of feelings of betrayal as players invest in something and adapt to it only to have it changed and reduced in value after the investment is made.
Something that's in a beta is by definition still in a state of flux and not in its final form. Changes will be made there, and the players have yet to invest in it.
This is something that rarely happens (if ever in this game) and people who use "nerf" freely should have their posting privileges nerfed!
I know, I know... it's become the standard word for a reduction in power and people talk like most any reduction makes their coveted power now useless... But... if we keep letting the crazies define everything and set all the standards... Well, we'd just all be living in their world and dealing with nonsense all the time... Oh wait.

In other words... do not listen to Vader. -
I've witnessed this happening in the past.
One thing that worked for me (and another that brought the problem to my attention), was changing one thing about the costume along with the power customization change.
It costs a bit more, but it got the changes to stick.
Then go back into the tailor and change the costume back, of course.
Anyway... I'm not sure that heading to your character's core side will always work. The problem just seems to be a bit erratic. -

Clearly we have slipped away from the seriousness of this discovery...
We have traveled from the true integrity that once was the basis of this thread... We have left coherent discussion and drifted beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call... Home.
Cake over pie.
Brain cake, that is.

I hear ya. We all hear ya. The Devs probably feel it the worst.
Hopefully things will get smoother as quick as can be. Unfortunately, you can't ask for anything more than that. As we all know... poodoo happens.
Anyway, the shame of it is that this game has had such a wonderful history regarding lack of downtime. I mean, we have not had anything like the past month for years.
I cannot argue against: They should have taken care of this more before launching it as completely free.
I don't know what problems may or may not have only been caused once they did launch... but... regardless, they are where they are now and they're just going to have to make the best of it as the experts see fit.
Hopefully it won't have a bad impact on the momentum of Freedom's launch.
To paraphrase Ivan Drago... "If it does... It does." -
Quote:A Developer told us that it is a bug and was fixed internally and should be live at some point in the future. The near future I would certainly imagine... In fact, I keep expecting it to be fixed with each patch... No luck yet, eh?Since Freedom hit, the pre log-in screens and all new character creation occurs at a non native resolution for me...
Is there currently anyway to trick COX into using my normal wide screen (1680 x 1050) resolution for these start up screens?
It would help costume creation immensely! -

Only one thing is wrong... I'm not there!
Thanks for the pics!!
I posted my theory in another thread. -
Somehow, the code to their next project accidentally leaked onto the servers today and people caught a glimpse of the big secret project we've all been wondering about...
More information about the upcoming game title can be found in this thread (screenshots found in later replies)!

While this all sounds terribly broken... Am I the only one who wants to rush in and play like this?
It's like everywhere is a wild magic area...
Or we've all entered Pandemonium!
Maybe we could always have one server dedicated to this borked client?
Maybe lock certain people from the forums there when they've been bad?
-
Oh, I can't imagine that they'd be against moving particular threads, such as that. Regardless, best of luck.
I just wanted to mention that I still haven't been auto-logged-out for... the past week, I think.
I was surprised to see people mentioning that it is occurring again. I thought it actually went away.

Quote:Doh, yeah, I waited for the Complete Edition on launch, myself.I already own the Going Rogue box. I got the pre-order, so I didnt get the costumes. I was always planing on getting around to buying the pack, then Freedom happened & it looked like the costume parts of the booster packs could be bought for less than the booster, so I held off. Ahh well, they are quite small sets, I think if I buy all the pieces seperatly they will still cost less than the pack did (just more than the other bundled sets).
Quote:As a side question; if you buy a part in the costume creator, it's avaliable for all 3 body types, not just the one you were on when you bought it, right?
I want to say "absolutely", but since I haven't bought anything as an individual piece, I really am only making an assumption. -
I wonder if a single forum for global events and recruitment (SG recruitment and Event Forums combined) would be better than nixing them entirely.
I understand the idea, but I thought there were some good cases for keeping something dedicated for global announcements.
Barring a dedicated forum for it... where is best for such things? The main City Life board?
I mean, really, thinking about it... that actually makes sense, no? -
Quote:Oh, good dear, yes!! Haha...
I was so happy when the simple "Tights Slick" option was finally added to gloves and boots. I'd love to see more stuff like that. Like a plain choker, for example.
...
However, I am still upset, because the sleek boots have not been given to Male -> Flat.
It had to be an error or something. I'm pretty sure the other models have them. My main character uses all tights - body, gloves, legs and flat feet... And I always wanted to have an alt version with the sleek look, but it doesn't look right to me with the heels of the smooth boots.
Haha... anyway!
I started this thread, so I can go way off track all I like, right?
