Legally speaking, if you link to an outside server not owned by NCSoft, their "we own all content" clause does not apply. Information on Virtueverse is not owned by NCSoft, even if you link to it in game.
Practically speaking, their "we own all content" clause is very, very, very unlikely to ever be enforced, even if you get a job at Marvel/DC and turn your City of Heroes character into a character in their universe (now, if you took that character and the game world it was originally created in, you'd have a problem.) -

(I'm a bit out of practice, but I actually can, complete with the pacing on the verses.) -

I honestly think the best solution to the PvP problems pre-i13 would have been simply removing the missions that force PvE players to go talk to the PvP contacts. No longer being forced to interact with PvP except when they explicitly chose to would have solved most of the complaints. (Remapping the Villain Accolades away from PvP badges would also have been necessary.)

They're the new shiny. Everyone wants to get some of the new shiny.

I'm sorry, I see no evidence that they listened to a "bunch of PvE players" in regards to i13. I can't imagine the opinions of PvE players would honestly result in the system so unlike PvE that we currently have. Best I can tell, they must have consulted a group of rhesus monkeys.

Quote:If you have Dark Miasma, Howling Twilight (the rez) is a much better -regen tool than Twilight Grasp (the heal), having the same magnitude and duration as Lingering Radiation (though longer recharge time). Some good sources of regen debuffs would be radiation's lingering radiation, dark miasma and kinetics' heals (they debuff the target as well), traps' poison trap (a *huge* debuff), cold domination's benumb, thermal's heat exhaustion, or dom psi assault/blaster mental manipulation's drain psyche.
But if you've got it, Traps is the king at shutting down regen. And just about anything else. Stupid awesome Traps. -
My confusion stems from the fact that I think he's talking about the LRSF, but Infernal isn't in the LRSF.
The LRSF is arguably the hardest content currently in the game. It's certainly in the top three, with Barracuda and the Statesman Task Force being its prime competitors. It isn't easy, especially if you don't have debuffs. Generally, when fighting AVs, -regen is going to be the most important debuff to make sure you have, followed by -resist and -to hit. AV regen is set to "cheating damn computer" levels, and -regen is really the only way to combat it, especially through a crashless Unstoppable. -

I'm not feeling egotistical enough to post any of my own origins here, but of all the people I've played with, I think the favourite origin/background I saw was that of an ex-member of my Villain Group, Black Mercy (played by @RPAngel1). She's a Pain Corruptor whose power manifests by amplifying her own attributes the more pain she was in.
I won't repost it all here, because it was several posts long, but the story essentially boiled down to the discovery of her powers, a "doctor" who wished to "study" them, and the twisted, horrible asylum she spent the next several years of her life in as the doctor tortured her more and more to see how far her powers could go (eventually, she was tortured to such an extent that she was able to wreak bloody revenge, obviously). It was such a perfect villain power and such a perfect villain origin; I haven't seen its match. -
Making me still have to use power choices on Fitness makes me very very sad, and if that is the case, I will no longer be buying the Party Pack to reward the devs for the awesome of i19.

Quote:While I wasn't around for ED or the GDN, the stories I've heard of those days, save for pre-fix Regen, don't really seem to exceed the capabilities of a modern IO'd character. Most of the "nerfs" I've seen since I've started playing regularly have largely been in the direction of making sure that no one powerset or AT outperforms all others, rather than being universal downgrades of all players. They've shown a "willingness" to give us these things only after many, many NERFS over the years allowed for a game that had some "wiggle room" to inch back up towards Incarnates. Don't confuse the inclusion of the Incarnate system as a hint from the Devs that they now love tankmagery.
In other words, the devs are trying to make everyone a superhero, instead of just the Brutes and Scrappers. -
Real people can't be trademarked.

Quote:Unlike most other MMOs, in this one, Tankmages are actually completely and utterly theme appropriate, so why not actually let the players work to it and have it?How do they give players more power without pushing things over the edge allowing players to have god-like Tankmages?
They've already shown a willingness for this with IOs and the expanded difficulty options, so I really don't see why they have to stop now. -
Uh, I tanked Statesman with a Thugs/Dark MM.

Before City of Heroes, it was also Freedom without the do, because he did it all for us.

Considering GG's apparent love for the same moral certainty as Cole, her teasing and not-really-serious take on espousing him as wrong, and her love of clinging to the retconned Tyrant/Dominatrix relationship, I think I've gotten her figured out.
Poor girl is Cole's ex.
