I hope you LADIES are done SQUABBLING. Or perhaps you'd like to go back to your CAKE SALES and leave the fighting to the LARGE ANGRY MEN?
I do not require hide to CRUSH PEOPLE'S FACES. At level 1 I BEAT SEVERAL MEN TO DEATH with my GUN, and the PURE FEAR on their faces as I CHARGED them was DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS like a LARGE RAW STEAK of a BEAR that I killed myself with my BARE ELBOWS. -
Quote:Man, since we merged with the Americans nobody understands sarcasm any more. I would have thought the whole 'slightly lowered the boss's HP' thing would have tipped you off...So straying from the group, faceplanting and relying on your team to come pick your *** up because you decided to "scout ahead" is beneficial for your team? Unless you plan on taking team tp, scouting ahead does very little for the team as does straying and eating dirt shortly their after. Besides, stealthing is not exclusive to Stalkers just because their first tier power is an inherent +stealth toggle. As much as the Stalker AT is geared towards a more burst damage specialist approach, don't sell the AT short, you'll do far more for the group by sticking around and scrapping after you've AS'd that boss.
Infact its those very tactics of scouting (and I'm assuming the ole "AS Boss, placate, AS repeat") that gives stalkers that undeserved reputation that they can be dead weight on teams.
To the OP, any defender, corruptor or controller combo will bring plenty of support to the team and there are plently of combos that do this whilst still being able to solo and take out spawns on their own. -
Quote:EXCELLENT! You have just saved yourself from having your kidneys FRIED and EATEN. Exactly how much money would I have to BEAT OUT OF MY ENEMY'S WALLETS WITH MY BARE FEET to use this?I loved your introduction so much that I decided to whip something up for you.
Also I notice that you have NOT given me the Shatter power from the Mace PP, which looks like MUCH SMASHY FUN. Is this deliberate or are you just AFRAID to give me that much POWER? -
HELLO, you WUSSES. This is ME:
I am a VERY ANGRY MAN and I plan to become a CRAB SOLDIER! However, as I am not a PANSY I will become a MELEE CRAB. What kind of COWARD would use RANGED ATTACKS when they have eight GIANT METAL ARMS grafted to their back? NOT ME, that's for sure. I am not picking a Bane because they HIDE from their victims like TINY, SCARED CHILDREN. Now, I do not have time to create a build for my Crab as I am too busy PUNCHING A RIKTI IN THE JAW, so I have turned to you BABIES hiding behind your computers instead of doing healthy press-ups like MEN. You WILL tell me if my DEATH-FILLED VISION is viable (if you say no I will ENTWINE YOUR INTESTINES ON A FORK you MAGGOT) and, IF you feel you are up to this task, you WILL provide me with a build outlining the general IO's and other items I will need to requisition. I will not buy these, instead I will BEAT THEM FROM MY ENEMIES with my BARE HANDS.
THANK YOU,
Operative Angry -
I recommend a Stalker, they add a huge amount to the team, and they can serve many useful purposes such as scouting ahead on the map (this is extremely important!) and attacking the boss while the rest of the team are still fighting. If you die, you can rely on your teammates to catch up to you and give you a wakie, and they'll be sure to thank you for all your help in getting the HP of the boss down - those critters are tough!

The Hamidon Wars were not the first great divergence - one of the biggest differences is that there was very heavy nuke use at some points (during WW2?), leading to large areas of the world being devastated even before Hamidon turned up. IIRC Los Angelos gets nuked.

I see Hero vs. Vigilante as Reactive vs. Proactive. As a hero you react to a villain and halt their one plot, as a Vigilante you take the initiative and take the fight to the villains to stop them doing such things again, even though this can lead to the plot underway succeeding.

KM is pretty much just reskinned Claws with a couple of different tricks, so it's not going to be doing Broadsword-level DPA.
However...
Quote:How can you complain about the damage of KM then turn around and say you like DP ? DP has fairly low damage compared to most other blast sets. It's prolly just me... I not a melee person anyway... I love my blasters... DP is the bomb. two shoting same level foes is awesome. I love the look of it... I'll try the willpower kin tank... more hitpoints... might not de as fast. I love the stalker concept being all ninja... they jus can't take a punch I guess. Bt this all could be my horible luck.... nah... can't be that. -
Quote:This post is pretty funny to read now...of course the question is why would you take a tank or a scrapper over to CoV and after the ED nerf why would you even play these classes. Tanks will be nothing more than brutes that dont havea damage bonus if that good and scrappers will be going down so fast they wont be any use to any one

Assault Rifle/Sonic Corruptor is great fun.

I asked whether the doppelganger tech would allow the devs to start tinkering with a self-cloning powerset at the 5th anniversary thing and the answer was an emphatic 'No.'.
Unless something's changed since then... I'm afraid you're out of luck. :P -
I dunno about this dumb argument but today I rolled up a character named A Man Made Of Bees who uses Kinetic Melee to represent attacking people with bees. Because he is made of bees.
It was a pleasant surprise to discover the powerset actually makes a buzzing noise when in use! -
Quote:Those are effects rather than sources. With the example of Necromancy, you could be opening a portal to the netherworld with a technological device and a mind control ray to use the zombies, there's the obvious magic option, your mutant power could be having a portal to hell in your left buttcheek, or maybe someone fired a crazylazer at you which caused you to grow zombie mind powers, I don't know.Powersets tied to origins? Ahem...Necromancy, Robotics, Dark everything... This would just be one more of -many-. And the idea of a set focused on over-tiem effects is an interesting one. Can't comment to much ona buff set since I hate playing buffers most of the time. Heh.
Just rename the set 'Insects' instead of 'Nanites' and problem solved. That way they could be nanobots, magical shaman powers, you could just stink really bad, whatever. Plus it'd give people more of a reason to use the Flies aura! -
I have a certain character who would love this very much.
Blueside is no place for a RED Team member to be -
I didn't feel so bad about going Vigilante on one of my Heroes since in like 75% of the tips I got everyone was a Nemesis Automaton. Took the guilt away a bit
There's more than one Morality Mission for each alignment, right? I loved the Vigilante one involving you releasing a certain someone from their cell to beat them up - some of the Longbow will actually run away from you when you get them low on HP, hollering about how they aren't going to sacrifice their lives for a criminal. -
Quote:I'm a fan of using "Infants" as our currency.Obviously they needed to brainstorm more words starting with 'inf'.

I know a few people who are in closed beta, so I guess either they're friends and family of the devs (unlikely) or Wave 2 has indeed started.

Quote:Oh yes, I agree a Tank does have some tools that make him better (bigger HP pool etc.) but there's not a ton of difference between, for example, a soft-capped Scrapper and a soft-capped Tanker, other than the Tanker lacking damage.I find it difficult to believe that a well built scrapper can tank as well as an equally invested in Tank personally.
Quote:Just two points for me.
First, Castle already indicated run speed doesn't have much room to go faster.
Quote:I would be concerned about the damage cap part with no way to balance out. For blasters, what is more: energy or fire? AR or archery? Does my /dark def do more than my /ice def or my /psi def? Where do secondary effects come into play? -
Chop chop, folks, it's about time you bleeding stopped these bad jokes. You're all hacks.

After reading yet another of the moan'n'groan threads on these forums as regards Tanker vs. Scrapper survivability, I had a bit of an idea: tweak the caps for certain powers and ATs so that they'll always have the potential to be better than anyone else at it.
Case in point: Super Speed. With a couple of IOs, it's outstripped in speed terms by Super Leap and Teleport. Why are these people who are supposed to be able to move faster than the human eye being outstripped by some dude with a trampoline? So let's make Super Speeders the quickest guys in the game by upping the speed cap if you're running it. This means that a speeder will always outstrip a leaper or teleporter, while still sacrificing his vertical manuverability. This could toggle off if they run any other travel power like leaping at the same time.
Another case: well-built Scrappers can tank exactly as well as Tanks can, while still having better damage. So let's make Tanks the best damn tanks in the game, by increasing their aggro cap. A scrapper would only be able to heard the old aggro cap (12, I think?) while a tanker could have as many as 25 (or so) dudes pounding on him.
Here's another idea: increase the damage cap for certain damage types depending on powerset. If you're a fire melee scrapper, you get an increase the damage cap for fire attacks, but keep the old one for all other types.
I think this will remove a bit of the 'homogenisation' that's happening in game, where the powersets are starting to seem a bit similar, or a powerset is completely outstripped by another one that can do the same thing better.
Thoughts? -
It is possible to get kills in PvP zones even with a PvE-built toon, if you get lucky and you're not up against proper PvP'ers. I've run my tank into Warburg and Recluse's Victory a few times and managed to net a couple of hard-earned kills, but equally I got slaughtered by a lot of people who knew what they were doing and had built for it.

Broad Sword for Brutes! I want to make my Nac Mac Feegle, damnit!

This is a really cool idea.
If we could negate some of the threats with our own powers, even better! Raging fire blocking your way? Let your cold defender/blaster/controller extinguish it! Some kind of rapidly-closing trap or door blocking a shortcut? Let the guy with Superspeed zoom through it and disable it! Transformer damaging your team? Overload it with electrical attacks, making it explode and wipe out nearby enemies!
You get the idea.
