I just read the news about CoH/CoV closing down and I'm quite surprised to be honest.It has always been my "go to" game when I have burned out quickly on the "new flav of the month" MMO.
I have played it since launch and it is the only MMO that has always drawn me back,it is in my opinion THE best "login and team" MMO out there,you could have a mental team of 8 ppl in a couple of minutes and you would be all laughing your ***** off and having fun.

Anyways back to the title,the last few weeks I have been playing "The Secret World" and I can honestly I have never experienced a game that can conjure up such atmosphere.
I have read that a lot of you cannot face playing Orcs n Knights type games when this closes.
The Secret World has a unique storyline,the gfx are killer and the cut scenes are amazing too (they make SWTOR look like Scooby Doo).
The skill sets are 9 weapons on a wheel containing 500+ skills,you can mix n match any of em as long as you earn the points to buy em.
I managed to try it out on a few beta tests and before launch I piled in for a lifetime sub because I truly believe it is a stand out compared to all the other games out there.
It has a horror/lovecraft/conspiracy background to it.
Some of the missions require you to do research via the ingame browser to find clues that enable you to complete them.
Other require you to sneak around and avoid cameras,etc.There is also a set xp lvling line with no increasing curve to make higher lvls take much longer.
A lot of the missions are repeatable and you ARE encouraged to explore because there are lots of lore references to find and loads of "kill X" badges to get too.
I believe there is currently a 3 day trial for the game available at the moment (dont quote me lol),I do hope that you will take the plunge and give it a go.

The thing a lot of ppl miss about stone is that the aoe attack will take the +rech proc IO,this is a godsend on big teams as invariably it will hit at least 1 of a spawn giving huge rech over time
The other thing is seismic smash is a mag 4 hold and therefore stops bosses in their tracks.
You also get +def armour (ok looks like you been rolling in poo with ur dog but hey lol)
and the +hp power is helpful too,just carry a few break frees

Seriously I have 2bill to burn on my DP/Kin corruptor and do you think I can get the recipes I want......I am playing on Union (euro) and the market is shocking.
Hardly any recipes available and those that are have ridiculous prices set,no wonder hardly anyone plays redside anymore.
Devs this needs to be addressed asap otherwise it's gonna kill the game.
Guess my corruptor shall be making the move to blueside in GR just so he can use the market........sad day indeed.

A very "Cryptic" post if ever there was one (drum roll-boom tish,etc)
Now is the time NCsoft should be going all out to get more subscribers by advertising,etc NOT by trying to squeeze the LOYAL players for extra bucks by making em fork out lots of cash cos they choose to run multiple accounts and have stuck with the game all this time.
Do they not read the CO forums? cos there was a royal shitstorm over their "paid" expansion and Cryptic ended up with their tale between their legs.
Not enough info or posts on here anymore,well we will remember when they bring out CoH 2

Just logged on to EU test server for the Halloween trial and was only lvl 50 in Peregrine,in Atlas there was 1 NC soft rep and 1 other player,says it all really doesn't it . . . . .

Title says it all......reason behind this request is that Union + Defiant are pretty dead tbh.
I dont call 12 ppl in PI a lot (specially when 8 of em are our friendly Korean inf farmers) and the chances of snagging a team lately is pretty low.
You may get the odd random invite but apart from that it seems that everyone has decided to solo (probbly due to AE nerf and the fact they are learning to play their chars now).
SWG just announced 12 server closures due to their "successful" server migration scheme (successful = why in the blue hell didnt we stay with what we had instead of that CU crap)
so at least ppl there will get more populated servers now.
I see they sprung another double xp weekend (some kind of ploy to try and lure CO players back who are on the fence) so that may up the numbers a little but thats just gonna make PI a farmtown again.We already get the short end of the stick with 2 english servers for the same price as US yet with many more servers so we have to fork out extra money for more char slots,just wish NCsoft would buck up their ideas and try n get new blood into the game with some new content (dreading the trick or treat fest coming up).
I mean how many times are the Rikti gonna invade? at least spice it up a lil with something different or are they saving the pennies to buy new servers for Aion?

They took too long to get it out and now the buzz is gone,all a bit "yeah....and?"
Hope the mission creator is great in issue 14 otherwise it's gonna be a long wait till something new and exciting hits.
The new booster pack is gonna be magic based,will probbly have a free trial to WoW the way they are stuffing the swords n sorcercy into this game,roll on the 5th return in issue 15.
I love watching the Xmen films,specially when Professor X hits the villains with a broadsword and then uses his shield to protect himself.

As for 50s lists, iv certainly not got one anywhere, in fact i cant think of anyone in our sg who has.

Not everyone has the time to put in endless hours to rack up 50's and inf to buy IO's Junior.
If you have been playing for 4yrs then please act like a veteran and stop whining bout people spoiling your precious "HARD" game when you clearly take the easy way every time.
How bout putting some of that 4yrs knowledge to use and posting some suggestions about how to improve the game,instead of crying for the waaaahbulance cos the nasty men are changing YOUR game.
Farmers are gonna be the death of this game....trust me !!!!

Yes good idea lets drive away any potential subscribers by making it extremely difficult to get purple IO's because of the cost,time involved in doing TF's,etc.
While you clog up the forums with endless posts of smurfs hitting 50 on your superfarms.
How powerlvling a char to 50 this way can be classed as quality I dont know.
Guess you will be happy when you have the server all to yourselves with no issues on the horizon..........

Don't think the BBC explicitly takes sponsors for TV shows - so Heroes sponsorship in the UK would seem a non-starter.

I wonder quite what the best timing would be for a marketing campaign given the competition upon the horizon - whether it's better to try grabbing players before the competition lands or wait until after and hope to grab people who were attracted to a superpowered game by the oppositions marketing but then didn't like the game setting/mechanics/play etc...

Either way, I'd hope that we'd see something by way of marketing/advertising. And maybe a new boxset (around I15 if that's a big story issue?) and the resulting magazine reviews could help...

Heroes is also shown on BBC3 on Sky digital,this station takes advertising and also shows Heroes a week in advance to BBC2.
So you probbly get all the superhero fans watching the BBC3 episodes to see what happens sooner,what better way to get this game out into the masses than to sponsor this show.
The reason I made my original post is to show how this game is sliding and needs a kick up the [censored].
I been playing nearly 4yrs now and still love the game,which is why I hate to see it go so quiet.
It's a multiplayer game for gods sake and for that you need players (plural not singular).
The delays with the issues hasnt helped matters either plus the launch of new games,other expansions,etc.
Maybe I need a lil break from this game just to see how much I will miss it,I have ordered Age of Conan just for giggles,time will tell.

Whenever I comment that the game has gone really quiet people scream at me "it's because half the people are on test playing Issue 13".
So I decided to pop on the test server and do a lil head count,and the results are as follows.....

Servers are dead in Euroland apart from the 6 man farm teams,most people playing the new WoW expansion or Warhammer Online.
New issue gonna drop soon which may bring a few back,other than that new mission makes coming in 1st quarter 2009 and some new secret stuff they cant tell us about or secret ninjas will blind them with smoke bombs.
Game is status appears to be "time will tell".

If they allow USA to Euro transfers then give us Euro to USA transfers.We all know why they wont allow this dont we...Euro servers would be ghost towns in a week.
We are talking maybe 500 ppl max playing the game at peak times,that is pathetic considering how big an area they have to work with.
They keep banging on about how much they have invested since NCsoft took over,how many more devs they have,etc and yet all we get is a re-hash of empathy for villains and shields where the shield just waves around on ur arm.
They charge for costumes,respecs.etc and yet think that ppl are interested in day jobs.The merit system doesnt make it any easier for the casual gamer to get purple recipes either.
You wont be able to make teams to run TF's anyway cos the servers are so empty.
95% of players do not care about PvP cos its always a gankfest in any game you play and yet they seem happy to pile the man hours into changes.
We have Champions online and DC online on the horizon,Age of Conan seems to be pulling their socks up and making giant strides forward,WoW just had a huge expansion and yet all we got to look forward to is a mission maker.
People are crying out for new power sets,power customisation,new char types,etc.
We get the standard "mega stuff is coming but we can't say what it is".....well you better start dropping info or people are gonna vote with their hard earned cash and quit.
Anyways that's my point of view and the usual disclaimer applies.
I been playing online games for 10 yrs+ now and have seen games come and seen games go,it's always the ones you love the most that you hate to see go down the pan......think on NCsoft !!!!!

What they need to address before anything is the lack of people playing this game on Euro servers.
It's like a ghost town on here at the moment(all the farmers are hidden I presume).
Even Sals badgehunter channel is like the marie celeste plus today WotLK hits WoW so that's even more people who will be not playing this.
There are games looming on the horizon that are gonna bury CoX unless they pull their finger out.
What's the point of MA if there's no one here to play the content.
Never mind worrying bout PvP (minority sport for under 12's),if you wanna fix the game just scrap fire imps and make it so that you get 1 fire pet in the style of Singularity (with built in bonfire).
There farming gone in one stroke and now people may actually start to team and have fun.

Lag ridden piece of [censored],the servers are so old the hamster cant cope with the extra 20 ppl that have come back.
If standing still clicking the same power for 10mins is your idea of fun then boy are you in for a treat.
Bet it was fun with 5 ppl on the test centre though when they "Tested it thouroughly".
Feel sorry for any new ppl starting to play,they will get lagged to hell and quit.
NCsoft better start pulling their fingers out because there are games looming in the distance that WILL draw people away.
A no brainer for me is advertise on BBC3 by sponsoring Heroes,would be well worth the cost.

My dumbest moment was when I decided to transfer from US servers to Euro servers so I would get a better ping and more teams .......-drum roll-
