  1. sooo you're looking for what? blue jeans / t shirt / sneakers / headband? If you're talking casual you're pretty stuck. Just look at any joe pedestrian on the street and there you go.

Why would you need costume help for that? I really am confused here.

I suppose you could go biker look and then its leather jacket / t shirt / jeans / boots / headband or goggles.

It is rather easy to write extremely suggestive text without triggering the filters at all. They do nothing.

    No XP

    To the OP.

The only reason your critters currently could be worth zero experience is if you removed one of the core/standard powers they get during creation. It doesn't matter if you added another 12 powers to them if you've removed one of the ones they get on the standard setting.

The developers have said this is a stopgap fix to prevent potential exploitative farming and by that I mean farming with zero risk of being defeated. eg a creature with no attacks, only buildup as an example.

    How To Fix
    • Go in to your custom critters.
    • Make note of the powers they have and the sets you chose.
    • Create a new custom critter and see what that critter would have on "standard" with the same powers/sets your other critter had.
    • Add those powers back to your custom critters and they will now be worth experience.

the thing with Shield Charge and of course works for all your damage is that you want to saturate AAO for the damage bonus. So using both teleport-damage powers once your IN the crowd will get you the most damage.

What we need, and what you need to get it.

to get 100% xp you need groups of,

    Minions hard/hard
    Luitenants hard/hard
    Bosses hard/hard

I want the highest xp for my lowbie as possible, so I set my missions for +4's and 8man.

So this now leaves us with the question, what power sets would be the easiest to overcome.

I have tested, a few... most effective so far being

AssaultRifle / Fire Assult, no build up, no aim, no rage or extra accuracy.

Spec your toon for Ranged defense, and mobs with all ranged attacks miss the majority of the time, however getting tight groups is a pain in the bumski.

    Anyone got further than this?
All you need is standard out of the box dev enemies for 100% exp. Only the custom created critters are worth 75% on standard from what i've read/experienced.

The AI issue with mobs not using their powers has been around for a long time. I wanted to make annoying shield mobs with Phalanx Fighting, but half the time they do not even activate their shield.
I could have sworn I saw a custom scrapper mob crit with their attack powers.

I've not had much of a problem yet with my custom shield mobs using shields but then I have the default powers on them too in addition to stuff like maybe tg or phal.

So failing that, I figured I'd try and put together a ticket farm. We can't farm purples in AE, so there's little point in setting everything to 50.
why not set the mission to spawn L47's so they'd be green to you and you could go to town on them with your L50?

Also the new settings work for spawns you can go -1/+8 and get a ton of enemies needing no padders.

maniac slammers have been changed. they are far more severe then they used to be. damage scale is now 2.0 and they pulse a pbaoe confuse power and i believe buff each other when in range of each other too.

as to custom bosses, why not choose empathy as the secondary and have them only use heal other?
  8. Thanks for the reply. Yes I suppose a better way to say it is that not only are squishies the only ones devoid of defense

Roughly for brutes its about 40% resist to all and 90% vs energy. For tanks its about 55% resists to all and 90% vs energy.

I'm seeing that I can get about 18% defense (all positions) on my tank/brute without much trouble and perhaps a bit more if I juggle slots around. Glad that it'll make a difference

    Maniac Slammers?

Yeah they got changed. Castle added a pbaoe confuse aura to them and some sort of buff your buddies aura to them and upped the damage scale they do to 2.0. from what i remember in the beta forum.

Shame this went live too because if you get these mobs in the normal mission they're in they will give you grief.

    Gifts from Pyro

Those are really nice Pyro. It's really great that you're doing this!
  11. For people who don't have access to all the parts are they available in the MA? If so you could do your screenshots from there and not at the tailor.
  12. I've zoned into RWZ to find the dummies gone, only a couple dummies there and the full set. When they're gone I try zoning out to another place (like pi or cap) and then zoning back in and then they are usually back.
  13. There was a bug in closed beta that may have re-emerged on live where a power color change would not save unless you modified your costume somehow. You didn't need to actually change the costume just change something and change it back then save.

    See if that works.
  14. One thing I'd like to point out is that not all squishies are devoid of +def. Electric Armor underperforms (hence the new heal to help) due to being a pure +res set.

I am hoping after reading this guide that getting a good 20% def or so on my electric brute and new tank will help survival immeasurably.

That depends on what you're trying to accomplish. I've been on teams with fully IO'ed out Shield scrappers who outperformed and were far more survivable then my Shield scrapper until I spent a few weeks IOing myself out. Now I outperform and am far more survivable then regular SO/Generic IO shield scrappers by far.

So in my case in order to get my character to be fun and not dirtnap all the time on large teams I had to hit the defense softcap, which was only doable through IO's, or relying on having a bubbler with me at all times.

Because of the issue that prevents Granite Armor from being customized in Stone Armor, Nova and Dwarf forms would not be customizable for the same reason. I consider this a likely reason why Kheldians as a whole cannot be customized. While the other powers in Stone Armor can be customized, it only makes it all the more obvious that Granite is an exception.

As for VEATs, the Wolf Spider machine gun, the Bane Spider mace, the Crab backpack and the Widow claws are all customizable. So their effects could NOT be customizable. (You get one or the other, both is impossible, so says Babs) Fortunatas are the only VEATs that have a non-weapon attack, and thus really they're the only ones who could be customized. (I suppose the Secondaries could be customized)

Personally, I'd allow it, but that's me.
You are slightly incorrect. Widow claws are not customizable. Bane/Wolf Guns/Maces are (models and colors). Crab backpacks are color-able.

Some VEATs have attacks that could be customizable. Crab energy blasts, Bane energy blasts, bane poison blasts, perhaps even wolf venom grenade and fortunata attacks.

BackAlleyBrawler mentioned that they are on the to do list but down on said list. First they'll work on the power pools, then epic/patron pools then on VEAT/EATS (pending some decisions). Also BaBs mentioned something to the effect that to do just the power pools is 2.5x the work of doing the primary/secondaries that he just did.

    City of Cute...

Psygon do you have a list of who's characters you're cuteifying? Would you post it please if you do?

I'd like to know if I'm being considered so I can either keep hoping when you post that my character may be done or I can just stop hoping and just check the thread now and then to see the other cute stuff. I hate hoping because invariably I am disappointed and I need as little of that in my life as it is.

    Thank you

With the new ability to choose any power it was far too easy to create creeps that had no attacks and were nothing more then bags of free experience. The current system is a stop gap until the Developers come up with a more robust set of rules to limit abuse of custom creeps.

As to i16 I'm enjoying most every change.

  20. ROFLAMO someone negative repped me for griping about CS in the SUPPORT forum, where I'm, you know, looking for some SUPPORT!

CS decided to ignore my last posting to them and closed the ticket. This is why I loathe customer service because I rarely get any customer satisfaction from customer service. It's always "tough crap, have fun, keep paying us".

Thank you everyone for the support and suggestions.

And to the person who negative repped me "Your father was a hamster and your mother smelt of elderberries"

In the end, no, you'll never know the difference. You can do math and say, "oh, know, I'm going to get hit with 4.4% more damage when being attacked from range.' But no human would detect the difference. (maybe Arcanaville would notice... but nobody else.)
Yeah I didn't think it was going to be noticeable really but wanted to be sure.

It's the same build I posted about a week or so ago and in that build I had mids set everything to L35, I then went through and put in the exact levels of my enhancers to see if that was the problem, but saw no change.

The thing is that with all powers turned off the numbers are different. The only thing that would be active are the passives. True Grit and Phalanx Fighting.
  22. So as many of you know I set out to softcap my shields scrapper, and while I'm not quite there yet, I noticed some oddities from the ingame numbers and mids.

In mids I have myself softcapped and am working towards that build. When I was comparing some numbers on softcaps to the one positional that I have supposedly softcapped I found a discrepancy that I can't explain.

    Ingame I see this...

21.75 ranged with no toggles on (phalanx and true grit only passives)
44.78 ranged with my ranged toggle/maneuvers/hover on.

    Mids I see this...

21.80 ranged with no toggles on (phalanx and true grit only passives)
45.20 ranged with my ranged toggle/maneuvers/hover on.

So why am I seeing different numbers in mids then in game? I checked phalanx and its set to 0 people and the same numbers as ingame. As far as I can tell the sets look to have the same numbers too.

Also is 44.78 going to make a difference in survivability as I'm 0.22% from the cap according to the ingame numbers for ranged?

    AE Farm Review?

It's funny you did this. I started injecting some humor into a farmish mission myself just to make it funny and enjoyable Still working on the npc's but the whole premise is that (as it's a ticket farm) you have to go reclaim the ticketz that haz been stolen!

So far I've added some "movie theater" people who have been kidnapped who say silly stuff before & after rescue. There are also boxes of tickets to be collected, with different sayings for a few different box groups etc.. Need to add more theater people and humor.

My support topic is still open but I think he's tired of talking to me after 7 back and forth replies. If it helps I don't see this as a common pattern with support here. Every other time my issue has been promptly and easily resolved.

Apparently whatever caused us to disconnect after the fight also erased the logs on their side, though they are still present client-side, effectively throwing us back in time a few minutes. We also lost the experience gained during the fight. I noticed this because I leveled from the mob kill on Burkholder and I no longer had the level upon return. The root of the problem (the loss of logs and rollback of our xp/merits/badge) is the very reason they can't validate the issue. Look at my earlier topic "Going back in Time" here for more information on what they told me here. Let me know if you make any headway there. I've pretty much given up.

Maybe we'll run it again come I16!
hey there Tinkertanker, naa this is Amaranthian Amazon

I've not made any headway at all, though the GM said that some people were awarded the Souvenir for the task force and their logs show us fighting Burkholder. SO I've been telling them that If people got the Souvenir from the task force, which is only able to be gotten upon completion/turn in, and turn in can only happen if you defeat Burkholder, then LOGICALLY we DID defeat Burkholder.

The lack of care from the CS representatives in this matter for something we PAY them to Enjoy is hugely FRUSTRATING!. Makes me want to scream.

I expect them to give me a lackadaisical reply and then close the topic on me, actually, then I'll fill out their little "How was your customer experience" survey and let them know just what I thought of it.
