Just wondering on your approach...For the most part - are you using the same border and refelective face, (as seperate layers), where you only need to color the border add the new image?
Eddy's looks different from the above set. The shading is great but it appears the border doesn't have the same feel of depth as the original set. Although, I completely understand that, due to the many contours that would be required by the icon.

That swan is great, again catches the 3D effect for me. I'm not sure if it's the image inside or the shading which does it for me, been too lazy to actually compare them and try to figure it out... But it's very nice.
As for your Py one, have you considered making the lower part of the y just a bit longer? Until I saw it was sin fact Py I was wondering why Pv... It could just be me though, I tend to play and read the boards when tired. -.-

The transparent avatars are ruined, because there's an ugly grey box that appears in the default avatar space when you invoke transparency. It's something that's being pushed by the forum itself, not an effect of the graphics themselves.
I tried using a transparent avie but I just hated it so much that I'd rather be happy with it myself, than make anyone who uses the 'villain skin' happy. Sorry.
