I find the market, the drive for Inf etc an alien concept.
I play this game to have fun. Badges are nice, and occasionally I will go out of my way to get one, but I wouldn't pay for a team, or expect anyone to pay for a team. I'll always give my last wakie to a dead guy (and I use wakies a LOT), always give that spare enh that I can't use away.
It's just a game. -

American Tripe - NO Thanks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aren't HBO giving us Flight of the Conchords? <3
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe, but it's not American Tripe. It's written and stars Kiwis, and our humor is far more akin to the English than the Americans. -
The problem I can see with your testing is that you are affecting the market by doing it. Prices will get artificially affected by your tests.
-
I've just read that post you linked to, Sapphic posted at the same time as you, so wouldn't have seen your post. That was the only one that repeated your info, as I posted offering to help transfere inf, and then golden phoenix and I offered advice on security.
However:

It seems to me that these boards are turning into a parrot cage!

You would just need to make sure that you had enough Inf on a toon on each side (not easy I know) to cover the prize.

The entry text to the first mission was going to be 'it's gonna be a long night but you can dig it...'
[/ QUOTE ]
I was reading this thinking it sounded like The Warriors.Great movie, took me a while to find it. The game is also exceptionally brilliant.

When the news broke, only a handful of people did not join the doom-mongering crowd.
[/ QUOTE ]
One of them was me. Unsurprisingly, I was right.
The next time you think something terrible is going to happen, just feel free to ask me for your opinion instead, I'm happy to demonstrate common sense to you all again.

You also do a good line in modesty I hear. -

Some people are really full of themselves.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its got to be better than being full of someone else though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Doesn't that depend on what sexuality you have?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nah. Just how adventurous you are.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indiana Jones style.

Assisted by a helpful Asian child?

This made me laugh out loud at work, great post! -

Btw adding sound? Granted i havent had my game sound turned on in over a year but is there really voice-overs on the cutscenes?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, sorry to dissapoint. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
You know in Grandville with the big TV's on the walls and you can see Lord Recluse? I think he means using that technology but adding sound throughout the mission. So you could stop and watch the TV's or just skip right on by.
[/ QUOTE ]
While he mocks you mercilessly from afar! Muhaahah, you'll never stop him this time!
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as there is a cut scene where your friend how has ghosted ahead appears behind him and the AV looks round and says 'oh [censored]...' -

It's too dark, can't see a thing. Also, I don't know anyone. What am I looking at?

People you don't know in the dark.

Bahh i dont even know why im arguing about this, i hope the fella gets his account back quick. Apologies all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because no internet forum would be even remotely interesting without a clash of opinion/fact etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, you can still have an interesting talk without arguing
[/ QUOTE ]
No you can't!
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats not arguing, thats disagreeing. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
What are you people talking about?
[/ QUOTE ]
For GG... a beginning. not the definitive answer but I hope our transatlantic buddies can make sense of this (and if you do, can you enlighten us, please?)
[/ QUOTE ]
Not sure who wrote that, but there is a glaring error in there:
[ QUOTE ]
Well you have to first get a map of the London Underground and then identify Mornington Crescent. For many the joke is that the station doesnt actually exist. Its been shut since whenever
[/ QUOTE ]
The station most definetly does exist, one stop south of Camden Town on the Charing Cross branch of the Northern Line. They tried to close it and it caused a large uproar, due to the game. There is a plaque in the station to the creators of the game. -

I don't ban, I exterminate with a double-sided hula skirt slash, be afraid, very afraid!
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm... What a way to go, though...
[/ QUOTE ]
Frankly, I'd be embarrassed, I always assumed I'd be killed after designing a superweapon for an insane madman.
EDIT: For those interested my prices vary from a handful of cookies to a small island, I'll also come up with scemes to suit your new superweapon for a little extra.
[/ QUOTE ]
So what could I get for say... 2 cookies with a side of milk for the scheme?
[/ QUOTE ]
A device capable of hitting someone over the head from 4ft away which doubles as a disguise and a small town bank robbery.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ohhh, tempting... the cookies and milk are in the post. -

Bravo.
We should make a Paragon Crescent variant
[/ QUOTE ]
Now, that would be a good idea. You'd have to include all the possible travel routes within zones though... Mmmm...
*Puts thinking cap on*
[/ QUOTE ]
*blinks* No you wouldn't. Mornington Crescent has no rules, as such - a new version wouldn't need to be thought out. There are no rules. Just start saying stuff.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except for the single most important rule, which you just broke, which states you must never, ever, admit there are no rules. -

What if it's a string vest?
That's not clothing, it's just artfully arranged string.
[/ QUOTE ]
Anything that's attached to your body, that covers part of it, but isn't part of you, counts as clothing in a broad sense
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm, not sure I agree with this. My ring and my glasses I wouldn't class as clothes. -
[ QUOTE ]
I've had worse (and more frequent) lag experiences with Super Jumping than Teleporting, myself...
[/ QUOTE ]
Except you don't have to do anything for SJ to work, you can either use the macro to keep jumping and R to run, or hold down the space bar. Lag has no way to kill you with anything other than TP. -
Thank god I got those glasses. Only clothed people are visible.. hey, I can't see my hands...

By the town hall??? I don't think the council officials will be too happy!
[/ QUOTE ]
What have the council officials got against roasting small raisin muffins?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not so much the muffin roasting per se, but more the paperwork that goes with it. There will have to be all kinds of Health & Safety risk assessments carried out, Hygiene certificates to arrange for on street vendors etc. Just too much like hard work for a few muffins. Now, if it was a roast meats vendor - that would be worth it!
[/ QUOTE ]
OK roast meats it is, but I'm cutting me own throat. -

the limit of 100 odd metres a teleport is just frustrating. I'm sure there is some engine limitation on it
[/ QUOTE ]
Could be, or maybe they just designed it that way so it didn't allow tp'ers to reach their destination much quicker than anybody else. Who knows...
[/ QUOTE ]
except TPers do get to there destination much quicker than any one else any ways as TP is the quickest travel power for traveling a distance.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, provided Lag doesn't kill you by dropping you mid trip. I had one TPing toon which I respeced to remove it cos it was too painfull. -
Sure, I understand that, but the limit of 100 odd metres a teleport is just frustrating. I'm sure there is some engine limitation on it, but surely if you can see it you should be able to teleport to it?
-
I'm with you Sapphic, was dissapointed about how TP actually works, especially as the almighty Lag kills it completly.
The only thing with the 4th tier is you have made it usefull, unlike the others. -
