Quote:Just wanted to correct you on this one point. The devs actually do bring back Rikti Invasion Week from time to time (although I think it has been a while), and Rikti Invasions are also triggered every time a Lady Grey Task Force is completed, so you would actually be able to get this badge again. But your point here is valid (about the badges anyway), as there are a few badges you would be unable to get again (mainly the anniversary badges).
Not only that, but they appear to have changed the requirements for the Watchman Accolade. I managed to get it after 2 Rikti invasions on the character I rolled a week ago. Was surprised to say the least. -
Quote:Not sure where you are coming from here... Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning are something you can only get by BUYING GR. Ultra Mode will be available to all as an issue. The Closed Beta loyalty is for GR, not just Praetoria. DP were opened to the loyalty programme and I would expect the DS one to be at some point too.Aha, but it's some of the GR content you can use outside Praetoria.
I17's ultramode, Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning are not tied in to Praetoria.
GR's CB should be all the Praetorian stuff.
As for access to test demon summoning, not my department (I'm a CoH/V player) to say why or why not sorry. -
Quote:Given we were given access to the Dual Pistols beta I would assume we would be given access to the Demon Summoning one too, as it appears to be available via GR so is definetly GR content.Right!
The parts of GR that are no longer parts of GR will be live before GR goes live.
Specifically Dual Pistols out now with GR pre order.
Demon Summoning due April with GR pre order.
Ultramode due Issue 17. (Issue 17 related stuff also due Issue 17.)
Praetoria Zones, Maps, Missions, Badges, etc. due around July when GR goes live.
GR Closed Beta should be Praetoria Zones, Maps, Missions, Badges, etc. before they go live.
And with the number of players scheduled for GR Closed Beta it's technically going to be an open beta.
That is from all currently published information at this time... -
Quote:The only information I've seen on the Beta is that it's I17. I17 includes Ultramode graphics for the existing zones, so makes sense it'd part of a normal issue, not GR.Since this has not been explicitly stated by NCSoft, it's a valid, open question. A large piece (or pieces) of what was seemingly planned to be in the GR release at the time the Loyalty program was announced is apparently now being tested in the I17 closed beta. Therefore it is reasonable to imagine a scenario where NCSoft would choose to apply the GR CB invite criteria to I17.
Consider, from a marketing standpoint: If too many aspects of GR are pulled out into other issues/betas and the Loyalty program doesn't apply to those betas, then the Loyalty program delivers less value to the customers than they anticipated.
We'll find out when either a redname posts more info, or a pattern develops regarding who gets into beta and when.
I've not seen any Red Name saying that the current Beta includes Demon Summoning. -
Quote:Not only that, but the occasional team wipe is usually quite enjoyable, and I much prefer finishing a mob off with a team in the red than just plowing though mindlessly. We had a team of 8 12-14's in Hollows last night hammering away on Frostie. Took an age, but we had fun doing it.This game is so easy that, short of someone actively harming the team (perhaps by causing wipes via training mobs), I can't imagine getting worked up over a gimped build. I've seen enough people with standard builds still slack their way through a team that I'd worry more about whether they're at least trying to contribute.
It might be worth asking them privately about their build because maybe they're a casual player who never thought a particular power sounded sexy enough to try. But to kick them? Nah. -
Quote:Yeah, you know that pop-up window that appears when you log into the game?
I take it you closed it without reading it?
Sorry, without sending someone to your house to read it to you, I'm not sure what more that they could do.
This also doesn't apply for players in the EU as our updater is still saying that I16 has just been released.
When it works that is.... -
Yeah, pretty sure it's straight away, think I've done it before.
-
Quote:Interesting thought on that though, because everyone who got a closed Beta invite to the Dual Pistols should get the Demon Summoning one too as it's part of GR and we get GR testing through the loyalty scheme etc. I would imagine it'll be a seperate test.True, I did say that - my point was more about what's in the closed beta rather than what is a free update. I do understand that Demon Summoning is a pre-purchase option.
Sorry for derailing Sam's thread about the size of the download.I'm just bummed about not seeing the changes -- he's right, if there's one update to get to see/test early, this is a good one to get into.
-
The 2 power sets are only available early to those who prepurchase the expansion. Otherwise you'll have to wait untill you buy the expansion. However, there is a option to purchase the complete edition which people are leaning towards as it comes with ingame collectors items and a months free time. The items can be bought seperatly but will cost more in the long run.

I would imagine that Demon Summoning will be unlocked for those with prepurchase of the Going Rogue when I17 goes live. Not for everyone.
-
Cheers Carni, I figured as much, just wondered if anyone had tested it. Will have to try when I get my new toy.
-
One thing I'm curious to know, are the graphics settings for a user stored client side or server side? I'm getting a new PC, but will occasionally play on my old laptop. I would hate to have to reset the settings everytime.
-
Did you PM Psybob? I'm not sure endless bumping will help.
-
I don't think this is a PVP event. It's a team of NPC villians I believe. I like the concept.

Not sure why, the rabbit would rather not bother with the hassel of creating a solo SG like building bases, paying rent, trying to invite toons on the same account.
-
Because if everyone who jumped ship had stuck around things might not look so dire. Not really begrudging you leaving, best of luck, but worth a thought.
-
Rent, while I accept that there are less people over here posts like yours really aren't helping the situation.
-
Yes, once you upgrade to a full account you can continue to level that character as per normal.

comment about not having read whole thread followed with obvious point in case no one else thought of it.

Pointless request for everyone to all get along which will be ignored or ridiculed.

Quote:From the opening post:As I read it, you can only send attachments to YOUR OWN characters. So a spammer can't send you the 1 inf. in the first place.
Quote:In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.)
And to who ever said that you lose all stuff going across, I seem to recall a Dev, Posi maybe, saying that you don't and so can effectivly create a smuggler. -
Pretty much yeah. Villian AT's either start in Breakout or in Praetoria, Hero AT's start in Outbreak or Praetoria
