    The AFK bubble isn't the same as your chat bubble. As far as I know, you can't mess with the color.

  7. I go for Concept most of the time. Sometimes the combo comes first, and concept later. I never make a 'flavor of the month' intentionally. I usually find out after I've made and played for awhile.

  8. The answer I remember the devs saying was server stability. The servers can only handle so much speed with full 3-D movement.
  9. On exception of note are healing powers that grant a duration of Damage resistance:

    Reconstruction (Toxic Res)
    Healing Flames (Toxic Res)
    Earth's Embrace (also Toxic Res)
    etc.

    Such powers do not benefit from the healing set bonuses. Why? no idea.

    You can make your own original Superhero. No other video game before allowed for this. You'd play Superman, Spiderman, Hulk, or (God forbid) Aquaman.

    Def buff does indeed enhance the DDR(at least the Combat Attributes reflect it). Also, recharge enh will buff Recharge Debuff Resistance!

    With Fire and Machines, perhaps a blacksmith type of character--someone who forges steel. Perhaps the powers are shared by multiple people share the technology of the traps(Science Origin applies to Fire/ , but the /Traps are Tech?), and they share the villain name (as it's the name Dread Priate Roberts that invokes fear)
    Another possibility to use different body types is a shapeshifter. One who "forges" their own body into new forms as needed.

    As I understand, Procs in an Aura powers are tough to fire. They only roll when the aura is interacted with by an enemy(I could be wrong about this), and then only every ten seconds of interaction.

    Another thing is the Chance for Build Up proc rarely ever fires at 5%. When I slot that proc, it is never for the proc effect itself. I only slot it to get the +2.5 positional def for the full set.
  14. I ran the arc, and received the badge at--I believe--the 3rd mission. I completed the arc for the merits(something like 26-29 )

    I still check it out, quite expansive database for (I believe) one individual to update.

    It lacks the newest inventions sets and updates to them, but most all of the power sets. Only the newest changes to the Epic pools are missing.

    That is a fantastic idea.

    A villain who is moved by her motives. Someone who gives the compassion so many villains never had the chance to receive.


    As far as my villains go, RP reasons. Many will stay villains. Some will go renegade to spy on Paragon. Most of my new villains will run through Pretoria instead of the Rogue Isles.

    I do have a couple heroes that might go Vigilante, but unlikely to go full villain. Granted the way pretoria runs that could change. Pretoria appears to turn Good and Evil on its ear. The Resistance is good but breaks the law, The Pretoria Regime is the law, but wicked.

    Spontaneous recharge/ That's a sign of a connection issue. powers will look recharged on your screen, but are not as far as the server is concerned. Happened a lot in the old Hamidon raid when the Hive was so full players would mapserve left and right.
    Also, disconnection would explain why the powers don't fire. The server never got the data that you had activated them.

  21. If you're going to take Focused Accuracy you should also make room for Physical Perfection. Extra End Recovery is never a bad thing(SR can be a tad End heavy too).

    Depends on the toon:

    Dark toon? Sands.

    Mostly Smashing damage? Axe for the Ghosts

    Toon already uses a sword/axe/mace? Axe. Looks like a master of arms.

    Hovering ranged blasty type? Axe for Ghosts that fly into melee range.

    Strong concept that a funky axe would look stupid with? Sands.

    Toon that would never pick up a weapon? Sands.


    Despite this, Sands of Mu will make it into my tray as I use it more often. The Axe I bind to G should I need to activate it, and keep it out of the tray.

    • Number of GMs needed to spawn Hami was much lower. The basic idea for this was that players could trigger a raid rather than waiting around for Hamidon's spawn timer. It also gave people something to do rather than waiting around for "minimum" number of raiders to show up.
    • I don't believe Essence of the Earth (hambrosia) was my idea. I can't remember if that was added before or during beta. But that in turn prompted Monster Island being built and futzed with the GM/spawn formula even more.
    • More blooms than asked for. Technically, it's the maximum (I wrote down "2-3", they scripted 3 plus the starting bloom...so 4 total). Total time-wise, 4 blooms ended up being about where we wanted it to be but in a much more repetitive way.
    Also, one big thing that never gets enough credit for the change in perception, all of this happened at the same time that Invention Origin enhancements were added to the game. So it's difficult to say how the new raids would be perceived if they were still giving out the end-all, be-all, best enhancements in the game.

    Me personally writing up a re-design aside, Hamidon was going to change and change radically for Issue 9. And if there's one thing I've learned in the time I've been here it's that any change will be perceived by some people as a good change, others as a bad change, and most as the wrong thing to mess with entirely.
    The one change I was hoping for with the advent of IO's: Restoring HO's to the 50% enhancement they once had. IO sets could easily replace HO in strength plus the set bonuses. Also with ED, the 50% isn't quite as nasty as it once was.
