Darkelven_Vixxin has only a couple of questions:

so this is only for testing characters in Issue 17?, becuse I have access to my DP and DS characters and they have their powers, and I can make them
You can still make them if you prepurchased GR.

    Quote:
BUT I can't get into the other training room and have no information about the GR testing
Yes, that's where the U.S closed beta for GR is, of course.

I had the pre purchase already, but again still no entry to closed beta, I was uder the impresson that 5year vets, loytaly program and pre purchace were in the closed beta arn't we?
At some time, before open beta, yes, but they go in waves (it does not follow the "tiers") and the devs have said they "have a method", so patience.

No, because I assume he'll fall apart like removing one of the bottom cans from a canned food pyramid.

Thanks! That and a buck and a half gets me a ride on the city bus.

If I was a real prophet, I'd have called the market merger and taken bets!
  4. So, my wild speculation based on nothing of "second week in August" was actually almost right. Good to know, and waiting with baited breath.

    Agonus has the backwardses:

As far as Radio Mission only people and AE babies, what I want to know is what started the Rush Mayhem trend that I've seen waaay too much PUGing redside.

Not fighting to the bank. Nooo, that would be too easy. Now a lot of players seem to think that running/stealthing straight to the bank (a la Safeguards) is the way to do a Mayhem mission.

And, as I've had players tell me, it's a 50/50 chance you'll complete the mission because of the big Longbow ambush that magically pops up when you get to the bank, so it doesn't matter how you do the mission.
Hee, yeah, like Electric said, they sound too used to Safeguards. Had the opposite a couple of weeks ago, where in a Kings Row Safeguard the leader insisted we fight anywhere but to the bank. When I asked if that wasn't backwards, she said she didn't want people to quit after the bank, even though another member had spammed TEAM about five times not to hit quit after the bank. But I followed along, watching the time creep down and down until someone "accidentally" (wasn't me) tripped the bank trigger and we had to fight the robbers outside on their way to escape. Barely got them before the time was up and then the leader continued to fly off in the middle of fights and say "here" with the rest of the team a little busy and then wonder why everyone didn't magically appear where she was. We finally ran out of time with us engaged in battle and her standing somewhere near a side mission trigger. Weirdest SG I've ever done.
  7. Passive aggression? Well, I suppose, if one feels the need to go that way.

    403 error

Guildportal used to have scheduled maintenance on Sunday nights. Now it's mostly that they broke something with their constant redesigning. It's down quite frequently. In those cases I just assume it will be back later.

    Panzerwaffen has it:

I've never understood the obsession some players have with 100% agro control. It seems that the Taunt-is-required crowd feels that if a tanker lets a single enemy slip away that the entire team is going to somehow faceplant.
Bingo. This is what I meant by my "aggro monkey" comment earlier.

    ClawsandEffect is ahead of me:

I kind of doubt the devs will allow what amounts to AI customization.

It would probably require rewriting to some degree pretty much every mission in the game. If you restrict this to newspaper/scanner missions it might be okay.

I don't have anything against the idea itself, I'm just pointing out that it' unlikely to happen.
Same here. Might be neat. Never gonna happen.

    bAss_ackwards can promise you that:

Casual discussion elevated to promises is one of the most evil things out there.
That one and the ignoring of qualifiers...my two biggest pet peeves about boards where the pros mix with the fans.

    bAss_ackwards should watch the wording:

The wolf tail is from the beasts pack coming later..
"Possible" beast pack that is being "looked into". Part of the problem with the mutant pack was people taking off-hand comments as "promises".

    bAss_ackwards isn't at all sure:

I think it is just a check to see if you are allowed to use the prepurchase bonuses yet.

    • Currently anyone can use the Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning sets on the Training Room.
    • After enabling the Going Rogue Prepurchase option only people who have prepurchased Going Rogue will be able to use Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning on the Training Room.
This is the way it is on the live servers, and now the Training Room will also check for eligible accounts.
Mine works fine, except for the aforementioned "Pistols". Maybe you just can't make any more, rather than "use".

    je_saist notes restriction:

    That's what it sounds like.

I just logged in a friends account on test who hasn't done the pre-purchase. Logging into a pre-existing Dual Pistols avatar, all dual-pistol powers not already claimed are "dulled" out. Dual Pistol powers gained from leveling, however, seem to activate properly on level claim, and on log-out and log-back-in.
Weird. Mine was a "bumped" 50 Defender and the only power I don't have access to is the required first power "Pistols".

    Clebstein wonders:

Why are you so sure he's asking because of farms? I've encountered people (mostly RPers) who really hate when other people click their glowies.
I concede the possibility, but his wording is more about completing the mission than clicking glowies.

    Quote:
I don't see how the occasional farm mission *not* accidentally being completed is a reason to not add this.
    **shuffles through the double negatives**

More of a reason not to add this is that it would likely have to be applied system wide and make a pointless glowie/switch added for most people to have to click to finish their missions. Not that it's a huge deal to click another box, but to add something like that in for the use of the few times it's needed sound like overkill to me.

EDIT: Toggle off/on as BBQ suggests would alleviate this problem, though, if they could implement it that way.
  16. Please, you thought AVs were tough? The civilians push you aside like you weren't even there. We don't con grey to them, we don't con AT ALL!

Samuel_Tow makes me scratch my head:

And even supposing all of that is changed, what we're left with is a world where our heroes one day wake up and are GIANT compared to everyone else. This means rescaling each and every costume's height to match the new environment, which is not only a lot of busywork, but actually requires a paid-for booster pack that many claimed wasn't worth the buy, so presumably many don't have.

Don't take me the wrong way - I WANT to see this. I want to see either the ruler adjusted to fit the in-game reality or the in-game reality changed to fit the world's actual scale. Or maybe we could have the world upscaled somewhat to fit the NPCs? I don't know. I'd like to know that normal people are actually normal unless they have a reason to be huge, but I'm not sure that's feasible to do at this point.
How does scaling down the civilians do anything but make them match our environment? So a lot of players would be bigger than the civilians. That's as should be. They gave you a scale that matches the environment. Making your character, you should take that as a guide. Your method of matching yourself up to the poorly sized civilians isn't a good work around, it's compounding an already existing mistake.

    Samuel_Tow asks the wrong questions:

Thing is, going 6'5'' doesn't make you "larger than life," but rather makes you "equal to life" because 6'5'' is how tall civilians are.
No, it makes you "larger than life". Those civilians out there walking around? Not life. Even you noted earlier that it's the NPCs that are screwed up, not the height marker. The civilians are WAY "larger than life", which shouldn't be.

Why are women short-capped to always be shorter than men?
They had to put the endpoints somewhere, and women are generally smaller then men. **shrugs**
  19. So you're irritated that something that was designed as loot is presented as loot? And that an intentionally supply-and-demand market system is fluctuating? And you view enhancements with special features such as not running down as "done right" instead of "done better"?

There are so many things you and I are never going to agree on, but variety of PoVs is what makes the boards interesting.
  20. Not exactly what he's asking for, Sam. He's wanting a glowie on every mission that must be clicked by the leader to finish the mission. His sole concern is protecting his farming missions from someone (accidentally or on purpose) actually finishing the mission as intended.
  21. Pull the stick out, Sam. Low brow insults are just a form of humor to many many people. Depends a lot on how one is with one's friends and family. I, for example, grew up in a family where cutting each other crap was a form of affection. Most of my friends are the same way. Don't take it so seriously. They're mostly throw-away gags.
  22. Well, if you double-knit them, you could be "Triumph - Stylin' like the '70s!"
  23. I had a touch of lagginess this morning on Victory, but that could well be attributed to the fact that I'd had the graphics cranked to take some pictures, and then forgot to turn it back to my normal settings when I actually went to play.
