Freedom Was My First Server
Freedom was my first server and has been my only server.
What am I missing out on? |
Wander on down to the server forums and poke around.
*wistful sigh*
Yeeep, you always remember your first.
Of late, I've been doing tfs and radio missions on Freedom and it's honestly about the same mixed bag I see elsewhere - the only substantive difference from my home server is the /b.
I should note, that as an aside, I've been impressed with the PUGs on Virtue - don't let the pocket-protectors and cat-tails fool you.

If you haven't joined a global channel, you're not really looking for team.
Virtue is full of cat women and perverts, but I repeat myself. [no no, just had to pick one server and at least it's true on Virtue.]
I didn't notice any difference between Liberty, my first, and Freedom. Really, at all, besides population density.
Virtue though is different, and it's my secondary server. I like it, but get too many RPers in a room, and I get weirded out. [Check out the blue side lounge in Pocket-D for some Pocket-Embarrassment.]

I think it's true that Freedom has more of t hat "Freedumb" chat at times, but I think it's a very fair trade-off from my old home server, Liberty. The players were nice, but there weren't many. On Freedom, however, I've found after years playing CoH, I'm finally able to get around to doing a lot of TFs I've never done before.
I think the PuGing on Virtue is generally excellent, but Freedom is not bad either. The "Freedumb" tag gets overplayed as much as the "LolRPVirtue" tag does. Both servers have a lot of quality players.
Every server has a good group of players at its core, but the smaller servers have fewer of them so your chances of finding a good random PuG go down.
my lil RWZ Challenge vid
Main thing you are missing on Virtue is a lot of people with worn out parantheses keys and significant hypertrophy of the special snowflake gland. That said it's my home server and I couldn't imagine life on a lower population server.
Well, you have missed the insanity that occurs on Protector. Such as Team Debt Cap's Robot Rampage.

I've played on Liberty, Freedom, and now Virtue.
Liberty= Friendly but low population generally.
Freedom= High population with little character.
Virtue= High population with a lot of character, both good and bad.
No relation to Arachnos!
Part Pack: Now the majority of players know how we, PvPers, have felt for years now. Don't want to be so "civil" now that you have been completly ignored, do you?

Excellent description. I'll add, re Freedom's no character, it's more like having so much diversity that you can't see each individual tree because theirs a forest blocking your view. But, the ones near you, those people are people. But you'll probably never meet them again [actually, this is what notes are for.]

Maybe you do, but for me the earliest times start blurring together, and to be honest it's not like you had the skills or knowledge to make it memorable for any reason other than it being the first time. A better first is the first time a teammate said of your performance, "Holy ****! That. Was. AWESOME!"
Well i can. i also play on Champion, Victory, Guardian and Infinity on occasion. All have good points.

Pinnacle has booze. I don't partake myself, but most people don't turn down free booze.

Triumph = Pantsless Server
We are a very close knit server. Doing TFs/SFs are done very often.
Best part of the server is we have many regulars, which makes for easy teaming after you get known. Because we are a smaller server, we tend to be a little more forgiving of noobs and try to train them more that some of the larger servers.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Possibly; "Triumph - we have cancer"
"My inner mind has become a reality-cracking overgod. He torments me! Help!"
Well, if you double-knit them, you could be "Triumph - Stylin' like the '70s!"
