  1. I can call it a couch. I can call it a sofa. I can call it a davenport. I can call it a divan. I can call it a chesterfield.

Know what that reveals about me? That I have a vocabulary.
  2. City-Life was an Apache dancer?

But to your question - how would the ability to slot for 100%, instead of 95% chance to hit {against most enemies, at least} harm game balance? Or to turn your argument back to you, what balance purpose does the current 5% chance to miss serve?
Because our damage is "auto hit" (if you hit, you do x damage [modifiable]), if you can make your accuracy (or to-hit, whichever applies...I can never keep that straight) 100% as well, you've just removed any element of chance from the game. This is, of course, bad for the obvious reason. It makes a small narrowly focused "I WIN!" button. It's a game. There must be chances for failure, even if it's small.

Casual, easy game is already casual and easy. How easy do you need it to be?

Weird, I've been pronouncing it as "ghoti." But then, I had a ghoti sandwich today for lunch, maybe it's just on my brain.
I suppose it could be. It's supposed to be brain food. I like mine with tartar sauce and cheese!

LOL. So only people with degrees know anything about psychology? Except even they don't.

You should have stopped when you were behind.
No, but people who have degrees will generally know a whole HELLUVALOT more than people without them. And total laymen are likely to know a little and only think they know a lot (heaven help us all from Psych 101 students). No one with any real knowledge of psychology would make the broad statements you make, any more than one would say a certain dream image means something specific. People are incredibly different and thinking you know something from a name they call something is pretty ridiculous pop psychology.

It sound more to me like you know just enough to think you know a lot, but don't really.
  6. "When a practitioner activates Siphon Power, each subsequent attack becomes yet even more powerful."

From that description, I'd say the difference would be that it keeps getting more powerful, as opposed to "activated and gives a one-time damage bump". But, it could just be worded oddly.

Just as an FYI all new accounts will only be able to create characters in Praetoria until they have reached lvl 20 with one of them and then they will unlock the ability to create characters in Paragon City or the Rogue Isles.
Just out of curiosity because I hadn't heard...source, please?

Agge, if I may, I would like to politely ask on behalf of my fragile male ego if you could refrain from calling our characters "dolls" and instead use the the more manly term "action figures". I find the your accurate terminology disturbs my calm when I realize that using the costume creator I'm basically playing "dress up" with my Ken and Barbies.
I do it fairly frequently just to remind people of just that!

    Pretendy funtime game!!!

    Brillig reveals:

All actions reveal something about the actor, that's psych 101.
That's the problem right there. It's Psych 101. People with Psych 101 aren't qualified to say what is being revealed. AKA "Pop psychology".

Unless you have some kind of psychology degree, you're blowing smoke (and even then, it's iffy...but you'd know that already if you had a psych degree).
  10. "Never miss" also takes a backseat to game balance. There are certain things that you have to give in to it being a video game instead of a story sometimes.
  11. Who exactly are all these people I constantly hear about that, when confronted by questions, simply quit? Has the world really gotten that bad? I mean, I know I seem pretty cynical most of the time, but this kind of thing just baffles me.

    Losing Target

Did they run out of range? Did they turn on a stealth power?
  13. EDIT: Never mind. I'm not letting myself be sucked into this ridiculous discussion.

    Frosticus reminds me:

Fair enough. Based on what was presented in this thread you are entirely correct.

I'd like to amend my statement. My hope is that the majority of our moral, or multiple outcome, decisions are made on the fly rather than as a choice prior to the mission commencing.
Oh, since I never mentioned it, this would be my preference, too.

    So.....How did you handle Forum-ageddon?
I filed a ticket with support, found out several others I knew were also locked out, attributed it to the back-up and went to bed.
  17. In the same way that you don't get to tell others what's appropriate for them to call their TOONS!

Especially since it's of no importance whatsoever. You call your dollies what you want and I'll call mine what I want.
  18. Quote:
Aggelakis illustrates all that tempest in our teapots:

He's not "right". He's also not "wrong". There is no right or wrong, people will call their little virtual dolls whatever they want to call them. Avatars, toons, characters, virtual dolls... they're *all* right, and *none* of them are "wrong".
    This argument is still around?

I should start calling them "dollies" all the time.
  19. It's an advertising blurb, not ParagonWiki. You guys have inflated expectations.

I don't like the we make our decisions prior to the mission commencing. I was hoping for more in mission on the fly decisions like we saw with saving/leaving the clone and robbing/not robbing the bank in the i17 batch.

More realtime decision making rather than pre-planned and formulated. As of now I decide my actions well in advance of me making my actions. So if I decide to take out Bella, but then when I encounter her I'm overwhelmed by her allure and decide to join her. IMO a big part of being a super powered being is the ability to drastically alter lives with a split second decision.
We've got one screenshot to work with. I see nothing there that indicates that both can't be true/used.

From everything I'm seeing on line, the dipthong ae is pronounce as a long a as in say, lay, clay. Which means I've been wrong about it for a long time.
Sort of. The dipthong ae is ah-ee, but without a syllable break. It does sound kind of like "ay" when pronouncing it in English, but mostly because we don't pronounce dipthongs in English like they do in other countries.

So, yes, there was some maintenance this morning... AND there will be maintenance tomorrow as well.
Was there? Because I was on until just after 10 am (EDT) yesterday and there wasn't any maintenance. And I was on this morning until WELL past 10 and there was no maintenance.

I'm just happy about this part. YAY, someone's actually mentioning the game. I've heard of too many people that have gone into gameshops and asked about it only to get a "Wut?" response.

Yesterday and the same thing today. Was there any actual maintenance on either day? Did they get the dates wrong or something?
