Again, don't get me wrong. I'm here for the fun too.

When someone tells me "I can bring a scrapper or an X, which do you want?" my reply is always "Whichever you'll enjoy more."

If the reply to that is "I don't care which I play," then, depending on my team makeup already, I'll either ask for the X or say "flip a coin."

There is enough bias around here, there is no need to propagate any more.
Meh. My teams move faster with defenders in the place of scrappers. Scrappers are awesome, no doubt about it. There just seems to be waaaaay too many of 'em.

What I said was still a joke. Call it hyperbole if you like. Someone says "You can solve any problem by throwing more scappers at it" and I immediately think "but it'd be better to throw more defenders." It was a slightly snarky response. A witty retort. An attempt to be funny. Apparently I just failed.

Maybe I should be more clear. I never turn any AT, any powerset, or any concept build down when I'm running a TF. Bring me your tired, your poor, your petless MMs, your pure empaths... Hell, I've taken a level 36 regen scrapper along for an MoITF. I'm never going to say "I don't want that on my team."

But I still prefer almost anything over a scrapper.

I do think a team of all scrappers would have difficulty finishing a +4/x8 ITF in 45 minutes. But that's not what I'm saying. All I'm saying we'd all be better off with less scrappers.

I don't care what you think a team of all scrappers can do. A team of all defenders or all corruptors can do it faster.

Now this is something I cannot argue with.

I'll admit, I really can't comment too accurately when it comes to DA brutes until I've made one, especially considering that I don't have any brutes at all. I'm working on that though, I'm doing a "tour de force" of Dark Armor right now. I've got a stalker I'm building up and a brute in the costume creator.
  7. Obviously nothing survives better than the most sturdily built Granite tanks. Of course, they sacrifice a lot to get there.

After that, I vote Dark Armor. Then again, I'm biased. Then again again, layered mitigation is the best way to go, and thanks to IOs, you can get all three layers on Dark Armor in high amounts. Very good resistances, softcapped defenses and the best heal in the game.

It also helps that you have to actually kill it twice.

Not even close. Inv has 25% end drain resist compared to DA's 86.5% (Disclaimer: I'm going by tanker numbers).

DA can basically ignore end drain and recovery debuffs. In a sea of Mu or even sappers, my blue bar doesn't flinch. A friend of mine and I ran through a heavy end drain group in AE, him on his WP tank. Even with Quick Recovery and Stamina boosting his recovery, the lower cost of his toggles, he bottomed out fast, even through Strength of Will's recovery boost.

Elec is even better on this front. Elec armor is completely immune to end drain and recovery debuffs. That's not even mentioning Power Sink.

Agreed. At the very least, there will be less scrappers.

That's something we could all benefit from.
  10. GMs can and have been soloed. They do not require teams.

You cannot be sure that there won't be a negative effect. I am one of those people that probably could solo all of those TFs you'd want this enabled for, but I run them often with teams. If I could solo them, there would be plenty of times that, rather than form a team, I just solo a Sister Psyche.

What I'm saying is there is a high likelihood of a negative effect on the entire community, in that TFs will be harder to find, as the people who organize them will be less inclined to do so.

Until psi damage or end drain comes along. Being invulnerable is overrated. Roll Dark Armor and be immortal.

By the way, OP, great song.

I don't understand this mentality. When you've got RttC providing upwards of 75 HP/sec regen, what good is another 2 HP/sec from slotting health?

Seen another way: Character A has regen 100 HP/sec. Character B has 5 HP/sec. Increase both by 5 HP/sec, and A has an increased survivability of 5%, while C has doubled his survivability.

You'd be much better served by adding to your defenses.

    Wait, what is multi-teaming?

Multiplayer means "more than one player." Expect some interaction. If you don't like it, you can solo, and have access to most of the rewards I do. You'll have all but a few badges, but our characters' performance will be no different.

Soloing is your choice. A task force is a group activity. Despite your ability to solo it or not, by design it is a team activity. If you so strongly oppose teaming, then you have chosen to give up these activities unless you work around it (by methods already mentioned in this thread).

I make judgment based on what I see. Your later posts include many more spelling errors than your early ones, indicating a rising anger and an inability to cope with it. No one has been insulting, they just disagree. I can see how that attitude makes it hard to find people who want to team with you.

  14. Seeing the OP's attitude through his posts, it's no wonder he doesn't team often.

You should expect a multiplayer game to include some content that requires multiple players.
  15. I have never put slots in Health except to fit another one of the healing IO uniques.
  16. *Laughs thinking of all the respecs Memphis_Bill will have to do for his hundreds of alts.*
  17. Since FE's additional damage will benefit from damage buffs, sets with strong damage buff (e.g. SS, Dark Melee, and Kinetic Melee) will get the most out of the additional damage.
  18. This doesn't actually work with a damage aura, since damaging a mob not on your aggro list will push him to the top and bump somebody off. Still, very nice catch. I hadn't thought of trying this myself.

That said, my DA tank "stealths" with his damage aura on and can usually click the glowies despite people swinging.
  19. "Let's try 50k. Someone might have listed 'em for real cheap."

    ...

"No? Ok then, we'll go with 110k."

    ...

"Hrm, still no. Well, nobody should be listing these over 500k, so I'll just try 515k. I just want to slot this character and get back to playing."

    ...

"You're kidding me. Hell with it. 1M each, I'm done here."

    Help my alt-itis

Throwing my suggestion out for a Warshade. They're not for everybody, but my warshade was far and away the most enjoyable trip to 50 of any character I've ever played.

And what do ya know? I've got a guide for them in my signature.
  21. I just want to say thanks for taking the time to write this. You have absolutely made my day. Scratch that: my month. Seriously made me feel good. Thank you.

I'm glad to hear you were laughing at the guide, as I wrote it to be entertaining as well as informative. In my opinion, you shouldn't have to "slog through" a guide.

My warshade is, hands down, the most fun I've ever had on a character.
  22. I've seen a WP tank with all the accessories (QR, Stamina, PP, uniques and procs), get sapped and faceplant. Granted, that was against his custom enemy group of defenders.

The problem is, all the recovery in the world doesn't stop -endurance from affecting you. -recovery debuffs are usually enough to shut down your recovery anyway, even through all those bonuses.

You want to stop worrying about endurance issues? Roll a Dark Armor or an Elec.
  23. Maybe create an AV with only one single target attack? It can't kill you while you rotate attacks with pets nearby?

How about you take the time to PM the guy who wrote it and ask if the guide is still current?

It's not like guide are a simple thing. You're asking for a ton of fine details, minor subtleties, performance bands, and think it's only going to take 30 minutes? The warshade guide I have took me days to write, and it's still not done.

I don't know about you, but if I'm going to write a guide, I'm going to make sure I know my stuff inside and out. Many people don't feel they know enough for a full guide. The number one human fear is public speaking, which is likely because people don't want to look like a fool. Many knowledgeable players aren't comfortable putting out a guide for fear that someone may disagree, or worse, they're just wrong.

Answering questions in ones and twos is easy. You can say "Hey, in my experience, X helps." It looks a lot better, and safer, than "I know everything there is about the combo, so I'm going to tell you how to make it work."

You can't make people volunteer to write guides.
